Adani Electricity observes National Electrical Safety Week
Adani Electricity on Monday said it is observing National Electrical Safety Week across its divisions and supply area from June 26 to July 2. During this week, various electrical safety-related educational workshops and programmes are being organised for employees and customers, the company said in a statement. Additionally, Adani Electricity, in association with Adani Foundation, is also organising electrical safety workshops in BMC schools. In April, in a bid to promote fire prevention, Adani Electricity observed 'Fire Service Week', throughout its power distribution area. During the week, various fire safety workshops were organised for Adani Electricity's power warriors. The theme for this year was "Unite to Ignite, a Fire Safe India," emphasising the significance of community involvement, education, preparedness and innovations in fire safety. In March, Adani Electricity observed the 'National Safety Week 2025', maintaining high safety standards as India progresses towards development. The objective was to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of safety measures across its power distribution area and various work sites, according to Adani Electricity, which is the leading power distribution company serving over three million customers in Mumbai. Meanwhile, Adani Electricity has proactively enhanced its disaster management readiness in preparation for the monsoon season, aiming to safeguard its 3.15 million customers from potential disruptions. To address any emergencies that may arise during the monsoon, Adani Electricity has activated its Central Disaster Control Centre (CDCC). This pivotal hub will orchestrate response efforts and operate round-the-clock, ensuring swift action and communication throughout the monsoon period. "Seven Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been strategically deployed across the distribution network. These teams are equipped with comprehensive response, recovery, and restoration plans specifically tailored for the challenges posed by the monsoon season," the company said in a statement. To monitor rising water levels, 98 advanced water level sensors are now integrated with the Advanced Distribution Management System at critical locations. This setup enhances the ability to pre-empt and respond to flood-related electrical issues.

Barefoot with the faithful: Gautam Adani's journey from industry captain to inner calling at Puri Rath Yatra
Puri: From orchestrating sanitation drives during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj to joining the chariot pulling in Puri, Gautam Adani's expression of seva goes beyond philanthropy - it becomes a spiritual commitment. In the ancient coastal town of Puri, Odisha, where chants of "Jai Jagannath" echo through narrow lanes and the air smells of incense and salt, the annual Rath Yatra is not just a festival - it's a living embodiment of faith. This spiritual grandeur took on an added dimension this year when Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, humbly participated in the chariot procession of Lord Jagannath, embracing the essence of "Seva hi Sadhana hai" (service is worship), a philosophy that underpins both his personal and professional life, on June 28, the second day of the nine-day festival. Dressed in traditional attire, barefoot and unassuming, Gautam Adani joined the lakhs of devotees who thronged the Grand Road (Bada Danda), pulling the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra during the sacred festival that ends on July 5. He did not come as a business leader but as a humble sevak - one among many believers swept in the tide of devotion. With folded hands and bowed head, his actions resonated with silent reverence, capturing the true spirit of selfless service. Gautam Adani's participation was deeply symbolic. It marked a convergence of India's spiritual legacy with corporate responsibility - a quiet message that leadership is as much about grounding as it is about vision. His seva included helping with preparations, engaging with temple servitors, known as Daitapati in local Odia parlance, and offering voluntary support in logistics and pilgrim services. Ranging from coordinating with local teams to aid sanitation drives to facilitating medical assistance for devotees, Gautam Adani's presence underscored his commitment to holistic seva, not as a photo opportunity but as a lived value that embodies his eponymous Group's motto of growth with goodness. This was not an isolated gesture. It builds upon the Adani Group's increasing involvement in community welfare during major religious and national events. Adani Foundation teams were also on the ground at Puri. This year, the support includes nearly 4 million meals and drinks distributed free of cost; designated food counters providing free, nutritious meals to pilgrims and officials; beverage counters across the town offering cool drinks to beat the oppressive Odisha heat; support for lifeguards from the Puri Beach Lifeguard Mahasangha; volunteers for beach clean-up, especially plastic waste; free T-shirts for official volunteers; fluorescent safety vests for municipal workers; and also a variety of jackets, raincoats, caps and umbrellas for officials and devotees. The seva effort is a collaboration between the Adani Group, the Puri district administration, ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) and local volunteer organisations. The Group, which has been working in Odisha through the Adani Foundation across sectors such as rural healthcare, school infrastructure and livelihoods, sees this seva as part of a larger spiritual continuity in India's public life. In an age where power is often displayed through optics, Gautam Adani's quiet seva during the Rath Yatra stood out as a rare act of devotion-led leadership. It reminded the world that humility, when practised with sincerity, becomes transformative. As the chariots of the deities rolled forward through a sea of faith, one of India's most influential industrialists walked silently behind, offering more than just strength to the ropes, but his heart to the journey. Earlier this year, during the 45-day Maha Kumbh Mela, which ended on February 26, the Group had supported food distribution and pilgrim welfare services on a massive scale in collaboration with ISKCON and Gita Press. On January 21, Gautam Adani personally took part in seva at the mela, underscoring the Group's message that social service is not a sideline activity but a central value. Puri 'sewa' was a continuation of that overarching sentiment, where corporate capability met spiritual humility.

Gautam Adani, Family Attend Grand Jagannath Rath Yatra In Puri
Puri: Industrialist Gautam Adani and members of his family were present in Odisha's Puri today to attend the annual Rath Yatra, one of India's most significant religious festivals. Accompanied by his wife Priti Adani and son Karan Adani, the Adani Group chairman participated in the rituals associated with the procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra. The billionaire and his family also took part in preparing the prasad that will be served at the temple. The Adani Group is assisting pilgrims and local authorities during the nine-day festival, which draws millions of devotees to the coastal city. The support initiative, coordinated by the Adani Foundation, includes large-scale meal distribution, provision of drinking water, safety gear for workers, and collaboration with local volunteers and institutions. The initiative follows a similar outreach earlier this year during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, where the Group supported food distribution and services for pilgrims in partnership with religious and civic bodies. From June 26 to July 8, the Adani Group has committed to providing an estimated four million meals and beverages to devotees, volunteers, and frontline workers. These are being distributed through multiple designated food counters set up across Puri. Cool beverage stalls have also been established to help pilgrims manage the intense summer heat in Odisha. In addition to food and water, the group has distributed fluorescent vests to municipal workers, T-shirts for volunteers, and rainwear, including jackets, caps, and umbrellas-for security personnel and devotees. Lifeguards affiliated with the Puri Beach Lifeguard Mahasangha are also receiving logistical support. The seva, or voluntary service, is being undertaken in coordination with the Puri district administration, ISKCON, and various local civil society organisations.
