Andhra CM Naidu chalks out plan to enhance reach of P4 program
On Thursday, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the programme's progress at his camp office and discussed strategies to expand its reach. He is expected to soon meet with key mentors (Margadarsis) guiding the initiative to motivate and strengthen their involvement.
So far, 18,332 mentors, including industrialists, NRIs, and affluent individuals, have pledged support to 1.84 lakh golden families. The government aims to increase the mentor count to 1 lakh by August 15.
To accelerate this goal, Naidu plans to personally interact with top mentors, including business leaders, celebrities, NRIs, and representatives from construction firms and multinational corporations. As part of this outreach, he is expected to host a dinner for 200 leading mentors in Amaravati on July 18.
Furthermore, Naidu has also directed officials to prepare communication plans that effectively convey the goals of the P4 programme and encourage broader participation.
He said the initiative was a unique opportunity to bring together individuals from various sectors who are committed to supporting the underprivileged.

Naidu to discuss Banakacharla project during Delhi visit
1 2 Vijayawada: With the expert appraisal committee raising some objections to the Polavaram-Banakacharla project, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is going to Delhi to discuss the issues regarding the project and other matters. During his two-day visit (July 15, 16), the CM will meet several Union ministers to discuss a wide range of issues, including the ongoing projects in Andhra Pradesh, release of pending funds, Polavaram-Banakacharla connectivity initiative, and matters related to rural employment guarantee scheme. He will also seek greater coordination and assistance from the govt to accelerate infrastructure and welfare efforts in the state. In the evening, he is scheduled to participate in a business conference hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Meanwhile, the CM has directed municipal administration and urban development (MAUD) dept officials to consider the demands of outsourcing engineering workers. He also asked the cabinet sub-committee constituted to study the issues pertaining to outsourcing employees to resolve the issues for the benefit of workers. Outsourcing employees in the MAUD are demanding equal pay for equal work, restoration of Andhra Pradesh corporation for outsourced services (APCOS), enhanced ex gratia, increase in minimum wages, and reopening of provident fund accounts. MAUD's engineering wing workers are demanding equal pay to that of regular sanitation workers. The state govt constituted a group of ministers (GoM) to hold talks with the agitating outsourcing workers. The GoM, headed by MAUD minister P Narayana, discussed the workers' demands and the same was explained to the chief minister. Naidu asked Narayana to take a decision which should benefit the workers wherever possible. He approved most of the suggestions made by the GoM and directed them to end the stalemate at the earliest. Narayana said the issue would be resolved very soon as some of them are to be announced with the concurrence of the finance dept. Once the finance dept approves the proposals, an official announcement will be made from the govt side on the demands of outsourcing workers, he added.

"...Let us wait for the final report. These are technical things and that is why we have these investigation agencies. Once they are clear... they are going to submit the final report. At this stage it will be very immature for me to comment on it," the minister said. This is the first time that the black boxes of a crashed aircraft are being decoded in India - at AAIB lab in Delhi. "I would like to appreciate all the efforts they put in to do a very transparent, very mature (and) professional way the investigation has been done (sic). AAIB has followed all international protocols while preparing the report." Promising assistance to AAIB in submitting the final report, Naidu said: "We have to wait for something concrete to emerge. This is a preliminary report right now and from the ministry we are analysing the report, but I think it would be better if we comment on it once the final report is out. I request everyone to not arrive at any conclusion till the final report is out."

Luxury housing sales surge 85% in H1 2025: Report
NEW DELHI: India's luxury housing market witnessed a sharp acceleration in the first half of 2025, with sales rising 85% year-on-year to nearly 7,000 units across the top seven cities, according to a joint report by CBRE South Asia and ASSOCHAM . This surge underscores growing appetite among high net-worth individuals (HNIs), ultra-HNIs and non-resident Indians (NRIs), seeking premium assets amid macroeconomic resilience and a stronger U.S. dollar. Leading the charge was the Delhi-NCR market, which accounted for 57% of total luxury sales with approximately 4,000 units, registering a threefold increase over the previous year. Mumbai followed with 1,240 units (18% share), reflecting a 29% year-on-year growth. Cities like Chennai and Pune—traditionally dominated by mid-income housing—also entered the luxury orbit, contributing around 5% of the overall sales. Gaurav Kumar, managing director (Capital Markets and Land), CBRE India, said, "The remarkable rise in luxury housing, both in demand and supply, reflects a structural shift in homebuyer preferences and reaffirms India's position as a high-potential market for global and domestic investors alike." In tandem with sales, new luxury launches also rose 30% year-on-year to approximately 7,300 units during January-June 2025. Over 90% of these were concentrated in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Hyderabad, signaling a focused push by developers to cater to evolving buyer preferences. The overall housing market also remained buoyant, with ~1,32,000 units sold and ~1,38,000 units launched across the top cities, reflecting balanced demand and supply dynamics.
