Philadelphia is just days from the start of training camp, but has 12 current or former Eagles on the negotiating rights list for a potential career shift if things don't work out in the NFL.
Canada, often referred to as "The Great White North," has been the alternative route for American football players seeking to fulfill their dream of playing professional football, while holding onto the dream of playing in the NFL. The CFL has unveiled the latest edition of the Canadian Football League's Negotiation List, which was officially released this past week. The list documents a vast pool of players—whether they're unsigned or currently playing in the NFL, another professional league, or college—who are eligible to be rostered by one of the CFL's nine teams.

🎥 The top 5️⃣ goals from the MLS weekend

Major League Soccer produced yet another batch of highlight-reel worthy goals after an action-packed weekend. Let's take a look at some of the best from Matchday 22. 5. Ian Smith vs New England Every Portland Timbers fan will have loved what they saw at Providence Park with this one. A beautiful team move eventually saw the ball fall right into open space before Ian Smith beautifully sliced home the opener. 4. Erik Thommy vs Colorado Rapids (Goalkeeper assist!) We're adding Sporting Kansas City to this list thanks to an outrageous goalkeeper assist. Erik Thommy was the matchwinner against Colorado after John Pulskamp found him. Some slick thinking and footwork here from the pair! 3. Noel Caliskan vs St. Louis City Playing at right-back on the night, you might not have had Noel Caliskan as the man to pull out a cracking opener for Real Salt Lake, but boy, did he ever. The 24-year-old stood poised outside the box before bending the ball into the far opposite corner. 2. Hannes Wolf vs Toronto FC This one was just pure X-Games mode. A wild cross from Mitja Ilenič found Hannes Wolf at the back post, and he blasted the ball off the woodwork and in for the opener. 1. Lionel Messi vs CF Montreal It had to be, didn't it? It's just like old times for the little boy from Rosario as Lionel Messi cut through multiple CF Montreal players with ease. It's like butter. Advertisement Which one was your favourite? Commanders Make Decision On Name Change After President Trump's Suggestion

Commanders Make Decision On Name Change After President Trump's Suggestion originally appeared on The Spun. The Washington Commanders have made a decision on a possible name change following a suggestion by President Donald J. Trump. Advertisement President Trump made it clear this week that he wasn't a fan of the Washington NFL franchise going away from the Redskins. He said that if he was running the team, he wouldn't have changed the name. 'You want me to make a controversial statement? I would,' Trump said to the reporter outside of Air Force One. 'I wouldn't have changed the name,' he continued. 'It just doesn't have the same — it doesn't have the same ring to me.' President Trump, though, admitted that one thing will make things better - winning. 'But, you know, winning can make everything sound good. So if they win, all of a sudden the Commanders sounds good, but I wouldn't have changed the name,' the president added. Advertisement Washington got rid of its Redskins name in 2020. For two years, the team was known as the Washington Football Team, before making the switch to the Commanders in 2022. Fans of the team have been calling for the franchise to go back to the Redskins or perhaps a different name. However, Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris previously announced that a decision had already been made. There would be no name change. 'I think it's now embraced by our team, by our culture, by our coaching staff. So we're going with that,' he said at a press conference earlier this year. NFL RB rankings: Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner snubbed from top 10

Conner did not make the top 10, based on evaluator votes, but he did get honorable mention. NFL training camps begin later this month. The Arizona Cardinals open theirs on July 22. That leaves just a little more time for some final lists and rankings. Leading up to camps, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler had scouts, coaches and team execs vote for the top 10 players at different positions. Arizona Cardinals fans would likely argue that starting running back James Conner should be on that list. Conner was snubbed, but not completely. While he did not crack the top 10, he did receive honorable mention with four other backs. "He's a load to bring down. Short strider with quick feet to slip tacklers, find slices of daylight. Good second-level burst. Runs behind his pads. Finisher. Underrated player." -- NFL personnel evaluator Conner is rarely mentioned among the top backs in the league, yet he has an impact on games not unlike the very best. But this fits Conner. He plays like he still has something to prove. After two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and now 30 years old, can he keep it up in 2025?
