King to media figures: Jordan will always be Gaza's biggest supporter
During a meeting with media figures at Al Husseiniya Palace, His Majesty said Jordan will continue to provide everything it can out of its sense of moral, humanitarian, and Arab duty, highlighting the Kingdom's diplomatic efforts, including recent meetings with the leaders of Germany and Canada, and ongoing coordination with Arab leaders and international partners to press for an end to the war on Gaza and step up the humanitarian response.
'The suffering of our brethren in Gaza strikes at the very sense of our humanity, not just because it is happening at our doorstep, but also because this country was built on compassion, on standing with those who suffer,' the King said.
His Majesty also added, 'No matter how much we do, it can never measure up to the scale of the horror Palestinians in Gaza endure every single day—not when entire families are being erased and children are being starved.'
'But that doesn't mean that we are not doing everything in our power. We are. And we will continue to do so, relentlessly and without hesitation. Not because we have to, and certainly not because we are looking to take credit, but because we are not a nation that looks away or turns its back on neighbours in need,' the King continued.
His Majesty said he is aware that there isn't a single Jordanian who is not angry and horrified by what is happening in Gaza, 'and I have no doubt that every Jordanian wants to help stop the suffering in any and every way he or she can.'
Everyone is distraught, the King added, but people express their grief differently.
'We must respect all perspectives and individual choices, without judgements, accusations, personal attacks, or public shaming. We must always choose respect, unity and empathy,' His Majesty said.
The King also called for a balance between grief and solidarity with Gaza, and continuing to live life as normal, as this is an indispensable national duty.
'Stopping normal life and damaging the national economy does not serve the interests of our Palestinian brothers and sisters. They would be the first to say they want a strong ally in Jordan,' His Majesty stressed.
His Majesty noted the importance of citizens continuing to be productive in order to stimulate the economy and work for a better future, adding that moving forward with their lives does not mean forgetting the pain of what is happening in Gaza.
The King said Gaza needs a strong Jordan, reaffirming that the Kingdom will not deviate from its firm Arab values, and will continue to modernise and develop, and support its Arab brethren.

Francesca Albanese loses blue checkmark on X after US sanctions
Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, has lost her "blue check" verification badge on X, formerly Twitter. The removal, which occurred today, marks the first reported instance of a UN official having their verified status removed from a major social media platform due to national sanctions. This action follows a legal appeal sent to X's owner, Elon Musk, by a law firm representing the Geneva-based watchdog UN Watch on July 31, 2025. UN Watch is often described as 'a lobby group with strong ties to Israel', and regulatory denounces what it says is anti-'Israel' sentiment at the UN and UN-sponsored events. The de-verification comes after the US government sanctioned Albanese on July 9, 2025. These sanctions, enacted under Executive Order 14203, include freezing any US-based assets, prohibiting her entry into the United States, and banning US citizens and entities from providing her with goods or services. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio justified the sanctions by stating Albanese had "spewed unabashed antisemitism, expressed support for terrorism, and open contempt for the United States, Israel, and the West," specifically citing her efforts to "prompt the International Criminal Court (ICC) action against US and Israeli officials, companies and executives". Albanese, an Italian human rights lawyer appointed UN Special Rapporteur in May 2022, has been a vocal critic of 'Israel's' actions in Gaza, asserting they amount to genocide and calling for an immediate ceasefire. She recently issued a report identifying US companies aiding Israel's occupation and war in Gaza. In response to the sanctions, Albanese dismissed them as "mafia-style intimidation techniques" and "obscene," reaffirming her commitment to justice and international law. X's policy mandates compliance with trade laws, including US sanctions, stating that individuals or entities on a restricted sanctions list "can't purchase X Premium to keep your verification".

Jordan says 'Israeli' settlers intercepting its Gaza aid convoys
Jordan said Monday that 'Israeli' settlers are 'continuing to intercept Jordanian aid trucks bound for Gaza, in statements by government spokesman Mohammad Momani. "Jordanian convoys have previously witnessed disruption by settlers who attacked and assaulted the trucks," Momani said. Momani added that "settlers gathered yesterday on a public road and impeded the movement of trucks, damaging four of them by throwing sharp objects on the ground, which caused their tires to explode."

'Jews say: No more': Leftist Jewish groups to protest Gaza war near Trump Hotel in NYC
A coalition of leftist Jewish organizations is staging a protest at Columbus Circle in Manhattan this evening, directly across from the Trump International Hotel, to demand the Trump administration pressure 'Israel' to halt the Gaza war and significantly increase humanitarian aid to the Strip. The demonstration, titled "Jews Say: No More," will begin at 6:30 PM local time. New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, the city's highest-ranking Jewish elected official, is among the scheduled speakers. Organizers, including T'ruah, Jews for Economic and Racial Justice, IfNotNow, and Israelis for Peace, stated the urgent need to "get more food and aid into Gaza NOW before more Palestinians die of starvation". They criticize the US government's "continued support for the policy of starvation". The protest highlights the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, where over 40% of pregnant and breastfeeding women treated in Save the Children clinics in July were malnourished, and a famine scenario is unfolding.
