Dakota Johnson Scores a Bikini Bestie for Her Chris Martin Breakup Getaway

Yahoo14 hours ago
Dakota Johnson knows that the best thing to do to heal a broken heart after a breakup is to go on vacation with a bestie.
That's exactly what the 35-year-old actress is doing with her BFF, Kate Hudson, after they were spotted on a yacht off the coast of Ibiza, Spain, on July 1. People shared the snapshots of the women, showing off their athletic figures in string bikinis. Johnson wore a white swimsuit, and Hudson sported a yellow-and-white bathing suit — the women looked relaxed and so happy to be in each other's company.

The girls' trip was the perfect getaway after Johnson split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in early June. Their on-again, off-again engagement seemed fraught with behind-the-scenes drama even though they did their best to keep their relationship out of the public eye. They dated for almost eight years.
The Madame Web star made a rare comment about her then-boyfriend to Elle UK in 2021. 'We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private,' she said. 'Most of the partying takes place inside my house.'
With People reporting in June that this breakup for Johnson and Martin 'feels final this time,' Johnson is apparently doing OK. 'Dakota's doing well. The split wasn't exactly a shock,' an insider told the media outlet. 'She wants to live her life very intentionally — she doesn't want to have any regrets.'
It looks like a trip to Europe was exactly what Johnson needed, but Martin might be nursing his wounds a little bit. He seemed extra emotional while singing 'Sparks' at a June 19 concert. At a June 6 concert in Las Vegas, he also gave his ex a shoutout at the end of his Coldplay performance. 'Thank you so much, everybody. Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other,' he shouted. 'Don't forget to see Materialists! [Johnson's latest movie] We love you!'
In the end, it was the couple's life timelines that never aligned as the core of their problems.
'They really tried to work through their issues, but the age gap was often a problem, and she'd expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life, but they discussed it,' an insider explained to The Sun of the couple's 13-year age gap. 'They made some beautiful memories as a family, and it'll be hard for both of them to move on after such a long relationship, but they will do it.'Best of SheKnows

Where Vogue Editors Are Traveling This Summer—And What They're Packing

The temperatures are sweltering; the air conditioning is blasting to arctic levels. That can only mean one thing: it's time to book a vacation and get out of here. This summer is taking team Vogue from the hilly streets of San Francisco to the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean. But before the only agenda for the day involves lazy lunches by the sea, there's the little matter of the packing list—and if your own plans could use some organizing, why not use our editors' vacation essentials as your guide? Vogue Editors' Top Vacation Essentials: From versatile travel shoes to beauty must-haves and endless swimsuits, the contents of our suitcases translate to a wide array of travel plans. (And if all you need is some holiday outfit inspiration, you'll find that here, too.) Here's where our editors are headed this summer, plus, all the staples they're bringing with them: Chloe Malle, editor, Every summer I go to the same place, my family's home in the Southwest of France. This makes it easy to pack for because I know exactly what to expect and what to bring. This year an addition will be my Meta Ray-Ban sunglasses which I have become obsessed with for taking photos of my kids. I'll also wear these perfect Gap Row-dupes as water shoes wading into Le Lot river. Gap jelly ballet flats $50 GAP Ray-Ban Skyler glasses Libby Page, executive director, shopping This summer, I am traveling to Portugal for a Surf & Yoga retreat so I'll need practical but chic (always!) pieces that can see me from day to night, surf to beach! I want swim that is protective and functional but not too technical, and relaxed bohemian pieces that still embrace my minimalistic aesthetic. Talia Abbas, associate shopping director It's not summer for me unless I spend some portion of it uninterrupted by the beach, but instead of the annual pilgrimage home to Calabria, my partner and I have decided to switch things up this August: I'll be trading in mozzarella for feta and the Tyrrhenian Sea for the Aegean. After many crowdsourced recommendations, we've settled on visiting the islands of Sifnos and Serifos. I'll likely be in a swimsuit the majority of the day, so dinnertime will be for getting dressed up—silky pants, flip-flops, and easy tanks are what I have in mind, plus a few great accessories to complete the look. Less is more! Faithfull the Brand Kassia + Bebe striped bikini $230 NET-A-PORTER Khaite x Oliver Peoples 1983C $555 KHAITE Liam Hess, senior lifestyle editor I'm planning a trip to Corsica in September with some friends, and the sum total of my plans are to swim in the sea, catch up on my reading, and eat lots of grilled fish. In my dream world, I'd be taking the Loewe puzzle fold tote in raffia to schlep to and from the beach. It wouldn't be a French seaside getaway without a jazzy Jacquemus shirt (I'm very into this poisson print) and I'll be packing Darrow Farr's Corsica-set thriller The Bombshell to lend to a friend—I read it earlier this year and it was part of the reason I was so desperate to visit this summer... Darrow Farr The Bombshell $30 BOOKSHOP Elly Leavitt, lifestyle editor, shopping I'm going back to Greece this August to see my parents in Athens before going to my best friend's house in Skiathos—the uniform for which is essentially just swimwear, so I'm bringing all my go-tos from Etam and some linen trousers for the ferry. Lately I've been trying to trick myself into writing more in my free time by amassing a slightly mad amount of beautiful notebooks in the hope that they inspire productivity; this green marbled one is at the top of my list. (My one piece of advice for anyone visiting Greece in the summer: bring a handheld fan for the heat or you will suffer!) Alexandra Ditch, associate producer I am so excited to be traveling along the French Riviera this summer with my mom and sister—the ultimate girls trip! We're planning to fly into Nice, and are hoping to stay at Hôtel du Couvent before jumping to a few other Airbnbs and hotels along the coast. We aren't taking off until mid-August, but mentally, I'm already packing. I can't wait to wear this Posse linen vest and capri leggings by Dôen. I'll top off the look with my Sézane basket bag and nautical Anni Lu earrings. Hannah Jackson, fashion writer My college friends and I are linking up in San Francisco this summer to celebrate graduations, new jobs, and other various milestones. While we definitely won't be walking the Golden Gate Bridge, I imagine we'll still be getting our steps in, so I'll be packing comfortable walking shoes (I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a pair of Adidas Taekwondos) and my favorite La Roche-Posay tinted sunscreen. I love my trips to SF, but I'm also not-so-secretly trying to lure my friends out East, so perhaps a BonBon gift box will help show them what they're missing. And, to keep me entertained on my six-hour flight home, I'll bring a paperback—I've been on an Eve Babitz kick recently, so maybe I'll finally dig into Black Swans. Kiana Murden, senior beauty writer, shopping I'm planning to stay local this summer. My friends are calling it a 'NYC Summer'—prioritizing exploring the Big Apple in its best season, since we're usually jetting off to Europe or the Caribbean. So until my proper vacation in September, I'll be planning day trips upstate and weekend jaunts out East, always sure to pack my essentials: a good flip-flop, my Uniqlo white T-shirt, a scalp serum to keep my hair healthy, and my travel pill organizer in the hopes that I'll actually take my daily supplements. Fred Sahai, associate producer This summer, I'm meeting my mom in Saint Paul de Vence, and stopping in Paris and Marseille beforehand. I know Paris gets really hot during this time so I'm really just packing light clothes. I'll be bringing a lot of Réalisation Par dresses, because they're so easy to throw on and always make me feel feminine and put-together. The Leila in the Aura print in particular is a summer staple of mine because the red polka-dot pattern requires minimal accessorizing and looks great with a tan. I'll also be walking a ton, so my Repetto Camilles will be coming with me—they're strangely comfortable for a heeled ballet shoe, and go with pretty much anything. For the beach, I've been eyeing a few basket bags and think I'm going to get this one to lug around all my essentials. And of course, I'll be bringing many Gimaguas bikinis, because they make my favorite swimwear.

Coldplay fans concerned about new Rogers Stadium ahead of band's Toronto shows

Coldplay fans are gearing up to watch the band perform this week in Toronto, but some say they are concerned after mixed reviews about the concert's venue, Rogers Stadium. The new 50,000-seat open-air venue in north Toronto will host the British rock band for four performances taking place between Monday and Saturday. Maria Stracham, who is going to watch Coldplay on Tuesday and Saturday, said she was "shocked" to hear people's experiences at Rogers Stadium. "I'm trying not to dwell on all the negative aspects of the publicity that has been going around about the new stadium. I'm trying to stay positive, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't just a little bit concerned about some of the safety aspects," Stracham told CBC News on Sunday. The concerns come after some fans who attended the stadium's inaugural concert from K-pop group Stray Kids said it took up to two hours to leave, as the venue and transit services from Downsview Park seemed ill-equipped to handle the throngs of people coming in and out of the show. Others voiced complaints on social media about long wait times leaving the stadium and hours-long journeys to catch a train, bus or Uber after the concert. Stracham said the decision to have the Coldplay concerts at Rogers Stadium doesn't make sense. "If you're visiting from out of town, there are no hotels around there. There are no restaurants, so you have to make your way back downtown. It just doesn't make a lot of sense," she said. "I don't understand why we couldn't have these shows at the Rogers Centre because it is sitting empty every night that Coldplay is playing." Many fans, like Rebecca Lukowski, who attended the inaugural concert, also complained about the venue's lack of accessibility. "They were not prepared," Lukowski told CBC on Sunday. She said the stadium was supposed to have shuttle buses to take people to the accessible parking, which was too far from the venue, but the shuttles never arrived. The lack of signage was also a concern, Lukowski said. "There was no signage on the roads. There was no signage for the accessible parking either. We drove around for almost 30 minutes,"she said. "That's very confusing, especially for someone who's out of town or might not know the area." Mel Farenzena attended the Stray Kids concert with her three daughters. They drove for seven hours from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., to Toronto. Farenzena said she waited two hours in line to refill their bottles at the water stations. She eventually gave up and bought water, which cost her almost $60 in total. "We ended up buying six waters from vendors because we had no time," she told CBC News, adding that "7 p.m. came and we were like, 'No, we're not missing this concert because of water.'" Kevin Kennedy, the owner of Kennedy Crowd Safety Solutions, said it is normal for a new venue to experience hiccups for its first event. "Not only is the crowd new to the site — so they're not familiar with how the site works, it's their first time there — but the employees on the site are also new," he said. LISTEN | Professor on how to deal with large crowds at Rogers Stadium: Kennedy said fans attending this week's concerts should plan ahead and follow the venue's instructions, especially in case of an emergency. "During an emergency, things are a little bit more chaotic, and the only thing I can say to fans in that case is follow instructions from those that are on site providing that direction because they have a bigger operational view of what's going on," he said. On Monday, Live Nation Canada responded to the concerns from concertgoers at the Stray Kids event, saying it was "already making adjustments." "We are already making adjustments based on fan and community feedback and will continue to refine our operations to ensure a positive and safe experience for everyone at Rogers Stadium and in our neighbouring community this summer — working closely with city officials, the TTC and Metrolinx, emergency services, and our community partners along the way," the concert promoter and operator said in a statement to CBC News. Concertgoers in the upper grandstands also complained that they felt their seats move during the show. Live Nation Canada said it is aware of the complaints but that it is "expected as part of the design of the venue," which "exceeds" international safety codes. WATCH | Live Nation announced the new venue in September: Coun. James Pasternak, whose ward includes the area where the stadium is located, met with Live Nation Canada, landowner Northcrest Developments and Toronto emergency services last week to discuss possible solutions. Pasternak told CBC News that there was a "really strong determination" by the teams to fix the issues raised by concertgoers. "We are hopeful that we can fix many of these problems. The onus is on Live Nation to make it happen, but we will be there to support a safe, enjoyable concert experience and make sure that people can get out and get to the venue safely and that people have a positive experience when visiting Toronto," he said. Pasternak said he expects to see some changes in place for the Coldplay concerts this week. "I would hope that access to fresh water, especially on hot summer nights, is more easily available," he said. The councillor also said police are looking into conducting some road closures in the area to accommodate crowds walking on the streets and sidewalks.

Sydney Sweeney's surprise appearance at Bezos wedding was nod to ‘old days of Hollywood': report

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos hosted an extravagant three-day wedding celebration in Venice, Italy last week, and many online onlookers got stuck on one detail: the presence of actress Sydney Sweeney. While other celebrity guests had clear ties to the billionaire couple – Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, for example, have been friends with Lauren for some time, even attending her bachelorette party in May – it wasn't immediately clear how Sweeney was connected to the now-newlyweds. According to a report from Page Six, the reason behind Sweeney's appearance may have been strictly business. Newlyweds Jeff Bezos And Lauren Sánchez Bezos Pack On Pda Ahead Of Star-studded Wedding Celebration A source told the outlet that the "Anyone But You" star traveled to Venice for the glamorous event because she's set to star in a film for Jeff's Amazon MGM Studios. She "is not friends with either one of them," the source claimed, but "came to pay respects to the 'boss,' just like in the old days of Hollywood." Read On The Fox News App In June, Variety reported that a movie called "Split Fiction," starring Sweeney and based on a video game with the same title, had been taken on by Amazon MGM Studios. She'd signed onto the project in March, and is also an executive producer. Representatives for Sweeney, Jeff, Lauren and Amazon MGM Studios did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. Like What You're Reading? Others joked that the invitation simply made sense – one person posted, "If you're Jeff Bezos, why WOULDN'T you invite Sydney Sweeney to your wedding?" Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez Celebrity Wedding Guests Take Venice By Storm Sweeney attended multiple events during the three-day getaway in Venice. She was spotted out on Friday, June 27, ahead of the wedding, walking the streets of the Italian city in a short black dress with a plunging neckline and matching accessories.
