Shannon Sharpe makes first public appearance since ESPN firing as he presents brother with Hall of Fame jacket
Sharpe was axed by ESPN on Wednesday just weeks after he reached a settlement with his ex-girlfriend, who had accused him of raping her in a $50million lawsuit.
Despite the settlement, ESPN relieved Sharpe, 57, of his duties almost two years since prizing him away from rivals Fox Sports.
Sharpe later broke his silence and accused the network of ignoring his request to delay the announcement until next week - with the Hall of Fame induction looming.
Though they did not honor his request, Sharpe appeared in good spirits as he was seen on stage with his brother Sterling on Friday evening.
The axed ESPN analyst was seen putting the prestigious gold jacket on his brother Sterling as the duo became the first set of brothers to be in the Hall of Fame.

The mother-of-two will live at the home with daughter Stormi, seven, and son Aire, three, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott, 34. She is now dating actor Timothée Chalamet, 29, who will also likely spend a good amount of time premises. The reality television personality was active on Instagram Monday, posting photos as she prepared to do a photo shoot for her Khy clothing brand. For the work day she was casually dressed in a dark sports bra, black Nike track pants, and platform sandals from ERL. She wrote across a mirror selfie, featuring her raven locks in a messy ponytail, 'The energy I'm bringing to my shoot today.' The multi-hyphenate also teased new pieces from Khy, which she launched in nearly two years ago in November 2023. One outfit consisted of a black off-the-shoulder top and matching skintight leggings. Another look was a tiny, body-hugging, strapless heather gray mini dress, into which the Kardashians star snugly slipped her famous curves.

Reports: Eagles acquire CB Jakorian Bennett from Raiders
August 5 - The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles added depth to a solid secondary, acquiring cornerback Jakorian Bennett in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, multiple media outlets reported Monday night. The Raiders reportedly received reserve defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV in the swap. Bennett, 24, appeared in 10 games for Las Vegas last season, making seven stops. He finished with 26 tackles and eight passes defensed. A fourth-round draft pick in 2023 out of Maryland, Bennett played in 14 games and started four times as a rookie. In his two seasons overall, he has 58 tackles and 11 passes defensed. Booker, 25, appeared in every regular-season game for Philadelphia last year, starting once. However, he was in on only 17 percent of the Eagles' defensive plays and seven percent of the special teams snaps. He had 18 tackles, one sack and one pass defense. The Texans made him a fifth-round pick out of Stanford in 2022. He appeared in 10 games (one start) for Houston that year -- his lone NFL experience before 2024. For the Texans, he recorded 15 tackles, 0.5 sacks and one pass defensed. The Eagles open the preseason on Thursday against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals, then officially start defense of their title against the visiting Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4. August 5 - Masyn Winn and Ivan Herrera hit home runs, Yohel Pozo delivered a go-ahead, pinch-hit single in the ninth inning and the St. Louis Cardinals pulled off a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday in the opener of a three-game series. Cardinals right-hander Sonny Gray shook off recent struggles to give up one run on one hit over seven innings as St. Louis improved to 2-2 on a six-game road trip to San Diego and Los Angeles. Gray, who struck out eight and walked one, permitted 17 earned runs and 30 hits over his previous three outings combined. Freddie Freeman homered and Tyler Glasnow went seven strong innings, but the Dodgers still lost in the opener of a six-game homestand. Glasnow yielded one run on three hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. It was his second seven-inning outing in five starts since returning from a 2 1/2-month stint on the injured list caused by shoulder inflammation. The Cardinals' go-ahead run in the ninth came against new Dodgers right-hander Brock Stewart, who was acquired at the trade deadline Thursday from the Minnesota Twins.
