Kota Kinabalu: Young people, particularly in Sabah, are encouraged to seize opportunities to obtain scholarships in the fields of entrepreneurship and cooperatives. The Deputy Chairman of the Malaysian Cooperative Entrepreneurship University (UKKM), Felix Joseph, said students in Sabah should seek accurate information to ensure they do not miss the golden opportunity to further their studies through the offers provided by UKKM. He said UKKM not only provides a higher education platform based on cooperatives and entrepreneurship, but also works closely with funding agencies such as Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR). 'YBR is currently offering scholarships to eligible students, particularly in fields that align with the nation's economic development aspirations. 'In addition, students from Sabah are also encouraged to apply for the Sabah State Government Scholarship, which consistently provides opportunities for local youths,' he said. Felix said UKKM is not merely a higher education institution, but also a center for human capital development that shapes a new generation of entrepreneurs and cooperative leaders. 'We offer training programs, professional certification, and access to a nationwide cooperative network. 'This is also to ensure that students not only graduate, but are also able to be self-reliant and contribute to the development of the local economy,' he stressed. According to him, young people in Sabah should not underestimate their own abilities. Instead, they need to take proactive steps to make the most of the opportunities provided. He said this is especially important in the new economic landscape that emphasizes youth involvement in entrepreneurship and social innovation. Students from Sabah, especially those interested in entrepreneurship and cooperatives, are urged to apply immediately. 'This is not only an opportunity to pursue education free of charge but also a chance to build a career and network within a strong cooperative economic ecosystem,' he said. For more information about the programs and scholarships offered, the public may visit the official UKKM website or contact the university administration for application advisory services.
