‘Squid Game' Season 3 sets Netflix record with over 60 million views in three days
Premiering last Friday, the concluding chapter of the hit Korean thriller has already climbed to No. 9 on Netflix's list of most popular non-English TV series of all time. The three-day total puts the show among the platform's top-performing global titles despite having less data to draw from than previous seasons.
By comparison, Season 2 of Squid Game, which debuted on a Thursday in December, recorded 68 million views in its first four days. That release broke Netflix's premiere week record at the time, overtaking Wednesday, which logged 50.1 million views in its first week in 2022.
The latest season continues the story of Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the deadly games in a bid to dismantle the operation from within and challenge the authority of the Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun.
With only three days of data included in the current rankings, Squid Game Season 3 is expected to rise even higher on Netflix's all-time charts in the coming weeks as more viewership numbers are tallied. The strong start reaffirms the franchise's global appeal and enduring popularity.
