Mike Flanagan's "Carrie" TV Series Cast Revealed
Mike Flanagan's Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of 'Carrie' has rounded out its main cast.
Summer Howell (Curse of Chucky), who was reported to be in talks back in April, will play the titular horror teen Carrie White. Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy's) was also previously reported to be cycling the role of Principal Grayle in May and has now closed on the role.
The new cast also includes Samantha Sloyan (The Fall of the House of Usher) as Carrie's mom, Margaret White, Alison Thornton (Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce) as Chris Hargensen, Thalia Dudek (The Running Man) as Emaline, Siena Agudong (Sidelined: The QB and Me) as Sue Snell, Amber Midthunder (FX's Legion) as Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah (AppleTV+'s The Buccaneers) as Tina, Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) as Billy, and Joel Oulette (Sullivan's Crossing) as Tommy.
The series was first reported to be in development in October 2024.
Amazon has ordered eight episodes, with production slated to begin this summer in Vancouver.
Flanagan, a modern horror maestro, is set as executive producer, showrunner, writer, and will direct select episodes of the series. Trevor Macy will executive produce. Amazon MGM Studios will produce.
Based on Stephen King's debut novel of the same name, the series is described as a 'bold and timely reimagining of the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White (Howell), who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother. After her father's sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public high school, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.'
King's novel has been previously adapted for the big screen, with Sissy Spacek playing Carrie in the 1976 Brian De Palma movie "Carrie", and Chloë Grace Moretz in the 2013 remake.
The role marks the latest collaboration between Sloyan and Flanagan, as she has previously starred in his shows 'The Haunting of Hill House,' 'The Fall of the House of Usher,' 'The Midnight Club,' and 'Midnight Mass.' Sloyan also appeared in Flangan's 2016 film 'Hush.'

US Finalizes $2.6 Bln Combat Helicopter Sale to Norway
Israa Farhan The United States has approved the sale of advanced combat rescue helicopters and related equipment to Norway in a deal worth $2.6 billion, further reinforcing the NATO member's defense capabilities amid heightened regional security concerns. According to the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the sale will significantly enhance Norway's ability to address current and future threats, particularly in the domains of aerial combat and special operations. The purchase is also expected to strengthen Norway's capacity to support other NATO allies and contribute to collective defense efforts. The deal includes a comprehensive package of helicopters, combat equipment, spare parts, training programs, and logistical support systems, all aimed at integrating seamlessly into the Norwegian Armed Forces. The DSCA emphasized that Norway will have no difficulty incorporating the new assets into its military structure. The US State Department has given formal approval for the transaction, while the DSCA has submitted the necessary notification to Congress. The sale will proceed upon final legislative endorsement. This major defense acquisition aligns with NATO's broader strategy to reinforce the alliance's northern flank and bolster operational readiness, especially in light of Russia's growing military assertiveness near Norwegian borders. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream

US Imposes Sanctions on Cuban President
Israa Farhan The United States announced new sanctions on Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Friday, marking a significant escalation in pressure against the island's leadership. The move comes exactly four years after the largest anti-government protests Cuba has seen in decades. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington has imposed visa restrictions on Díaz-Canel for what it described as his role in the Cuban regime's violent repression of its citizens during and after the 2021 demonstrations. In addition to the Cuban president, the sanctions also target senior officials within the government. These include Defence Minister Álvaro López Miera and Interior Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, both accused of playing key roles in the crackdown on dissent. The protests that erupted across Cuba in July 2021 were driven by widespread public frustration over economic hardship, food shortages, and restrictions on freedoms. The government responded with mass arrests and heavy-handed tactics that drew international condemnation. This new wave of sanctions highlights the Biden administration's firm stance on human rights abuses in Cuba, as well as its commitment to supporting democratic movements across the region. The sanctions are expected to further limit the ability of targeted officials to travel and access assets abroad. Washington's decision also signals a shift toward increased accountability for foreign leaders accused of systemic repression, potentially setting a precedent for future policy actions in Latin America and beyond. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream
