Fifty One East unveils TUDOR 2025 Novelties at private event in Doha
Doha
Fifty One East, Qatar's favourite department store, successfully hosted an exclusive in-store event unveiling TUDOR's Watches & Wonders-Geneva 2025 collection for the first time in Doha. The private gathering took place on Wednesday, May 7 at the TUDOR Shop-in-Shop at Fifty One East, Lagoona Mall, welcoming an elite group of TUDOR enthusiasts and valued clients.
Guests had the rare opportunity to be among the first in the region to view—and purchase—TUDOR's latest timepieces following their global debut in Geneva. The event underscored Fifty One East's ongoing dedication to bringing world-class luxury experiences to Qatar's discerning clientele, a commitment that has defined its partnership with TUDOR since 1951.
2025 is a big year for TUDOR, as it saw an all-new Black Bay in 43 mm featuring Master Chronometer certification and a Pelagos that's depth rated to 1000 m. The Swiss manufacturer also released a Black Bay 58 all with a burgundy dial and bezel; the Black Bay Pro with enhanced visual touches; and finally, the Black Bay Chrono model in steel with a five-link bracelet.
Bader Al-Darwish, Chairman and Managing Director of Fifty One East, said: 'It was an honour to reveal TUDOR's exceptional 2025 novelties in Doha. Our relationship with the brand spans more than 70 years, and this event marked yet another milestone in our shared journey. We are proud to continue offering our clients access to the world's most exceptional timepieces in experiences as unique as the watches themselves.'
TUDOR 2025 Novelties presented at the event
Black Bay 58
The Black Bay 58 is named after the year in which the first TUDOR divers' watch waterproof to 200 meters was introduced. Among other aesthetic allusions to this famous historic watch, this model has a 39 mm diameter case, in keeping with the characteristic proportions of the 1950s.
For the first time, the new all-burgundy Black Bay 58 also comes on a 5-link bracelet with a T-fit rapid adjustment clasp. On top of all of that, the watch also got the Master Chronometer treatment.
Pelagos Ultra
Exceptional tool watches and the symbol of aquatic adventure, the models in the Pelagos line are amongst the most complete traditional mechanical divers' watches available today.
Engineered specifically to overcome the challenges associated with saturation diving, the new Pelagos Ultra is the most technically capable Pelagos ever made, with 1,000 meters of water resistance, a proprietary bracelet adjustment system, and a 43 mm titanium case. It represents a giant stride in technical advancements with a Master Chronometer Certification from METAS.
Black Bay 68
Introducing an entirely new Black Bay model in 43 mm with two new colour configurations. The big deal is not just a brand new case size, but that the Black Bay 68 is also Master Chronometer certified by METAS.
The Black Bay 68 is among the largest Black Bay models and meets the demand for various case sizes to fit all types of wrists.
Black Bay Pro
TUDOR offers a technical model named Black Bay Pro. It has a 39-millimetre diameter, a fixed steel bezel and a Manufacture Calibre with built-in GMT function.
Building on the Black Bay Pro's robust reputation, this new version retains the 39mm diameter case, fixed steel bezel and Manufacture Calibre with built-in GMT function. A distinct new opaline dial with visual touches that make it extremely legible.
Black Bay Chrono
TUDOR has been producing watches that are closely tied to the world of motor sport since 1970, when the brand introduced its first chronograph. The Black Bay Chrono combines this heritage in a sport-chic chronograph, with contrasting sub-counters and a high-performance automatic Manufacture Calibre, with column wheel and vertical clutch.
Celebrating decades of its chronographs, the Black Bay Chrono model in steel with a reworked case and two dial options now comes with the option of a 3-link or 5-link bracelet, both with 'T-Fit' clasp.
Immersive Experiences and Activations
In true TUDOR spirit, the evening offered guests an immersive brand experience that brought the 'Born to Dare' ethos to life. A live DJ performance set an upbeat tone throughout the night, while guests engaged with an interactive Push Button Reaction Wall for the chance to win exclusive TUDOR prizes. The culinary experience included elegant pass-around catering alongside red and white cotton candy and popcorn, red and black sliders and mocktails, echoing the signature colours of the TUDOR novelties on display.

Senator says U.S. tariffs from Trump White House damaging for Washington state
Opponents from Washington state of U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats against Canada are vowing to fight, saying the ongoing trade war has delivered a heavy blow to American border communities. In a conference call led by Democrat U.S. Senator Patty Murray that included British Columbia Premier David Eby, Murray said regions such as Whatcom County bordering Canada get about 12 per cent of taxable retail income from Canadian consumers. Murray said the drop in Canadian tourists visiting her state has also resulted in economic uncertainty among ferry operators and in Point Roberts, where residents cannot access the U.S. mainland without travelling through Canada. Eby said it is difficult to continue asking British Columbians to keep their money in Canada but the U.S. boycotts are necessary in the trade war despite circumstances being "miserable" on both sides of the border. Earlier this week, Eby responded to statements by the U.S. Ambassador to Canada who called Canadians mean and nasty over their travel and alcohol boycott, saying Canadians would be "proud" to be considered mean for standing up for their sovereignty. Edmund Schweitzer, founder of Washington-based digital device maker Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, said during the conference call that his company is predicting the tariffs will cost it US$100 million in "unanticipated federal taxes." Schweitzer said that means each of the 7,000 employees who co-own the company will take a financial hit of US$14,000 from the tariffs. "President Trump seems to have created the 51st state that he was talking about, which is the great state of uncertainty," he said Wednesday. "And this is affecting all of us." Murray said she is working in the U.S. Congress to bring Democrats and Republicans to join in the fight to wrestle back the power to set tariffs from the White House and urges other Americans to join the cause. "Who is responsible for this, and we all need to remember this, is the president of the United States who started this," Murray said. "We are raising our voices to say, 'Enough is enough … stop this." B.C. is among several Canadian provinces that banned the sale of U.S. alcohol from government-run stores after the trade war began, and industry groups say such sales in Canada have fallen sharply in March and April. Statistics Canada figures show the number of Canadians returning home by car from south of the border fell to just over 33 per cent in June compared with the same period last year, and return trips by air fell to just over 22 per cent during the same period. "No one wants this," Murray said of the falling numbers and economic uncertainty. "We did not ask for this. It's been imposed on us. And I think that the premier is making it clear he has to make it painful for the United States. "That doesn't change our relationship with British Columbia. We've always been friends, allies. We have had challenges in the past, but we talk to each other. We work through it, and that's what we both want at the end of this." Australia lifts biosecurity restrictions on US beef, AFR reports
SYDNEY (Reuters) -Australia has lifted its biosecurity restrictions on beef imports from the U.S., the Australian Financial Review (AFR) reported on Thursday, likely removing a key concern for U.S. President Donald Trump's administration over bilateral trade. Australia informed the U.S. of its decision after a review of the curbs it initiated more than 18 months ago, before Trump was elected for a second term, the AFR said in its report, citing an unidentified government source. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The AFR report said Albanese's Labor government will use the easing of rules to argue its case for the United States to wind back 50% tariffs on steel and aluminium and Trump's threat to impose a 200% tariff on pharmaceuticals. Albanese in April had ruled out relaxing Australia's strict biosecurity rules during tariff talks with the United States. Trump in April singled out the trade disparity on Australian beef after the country's beef exports to the United States surged last year, reaching A$4 billion ($2.64 billion) amid a slump in U.S. beef production. Since 2003, Australia has curbed entry of U.S. beef after detecting bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), or mad cow disease. But Australia allows entry if the cattle were born, raised and slaughtered in the United States, though few shippers can prove these requirements, as cattle frequently move between the United States, Canada and Mexico. Australia views its strict biosecurity rules as safeguarding its disease-free cattle, helping it preserve access to lucrative markets such as Japan and South Korea, while Australian beef is prized by U.S. fast food chains for its lower fat content and competitive prices.
