WHAT DOES OREGON DO NOW?
The Ducks have had a cold run at quarterback this recruiting cycle as four-star Jonas Williams flipped from Oregon to USC and now Curtis turned them down after they put on the full-court press to land the Nashville (Tenn.) Nashville Christian star.

In typical Oregon fashion, the Ducks could still land with the best quarterback in the bunch as this opens up a massive opportunity to land Ryder Lyons, who is basically considered a 2027 quarterback because of his LDS mission but should be worth the wait.
I've now been told on multiple occasions that Oregon, BYU and Michigan are the front-runners in Lyons' recruitment with USC, Ole Miss, Ohio State and others still in the mix. Now the Folsom, Calif., five-star has a clear runway to end up in Eugene.
USC chose Williams over Lyons first. Michigan just took five-star QB Brady Smigiel. BYU is under serious consideration but still feels like a long shot. Lyons loves the Ole Miss offense but there are still some hurdles there.
In some ways, Lyons is a more mobile playmaker in the Bo Nix mold – the Oregon version of Nix, not Auburn. That could be a major selling point to the five-star quarterback as the loss of Curtis could definitely mean the gain of Lyons.

Where else could Oregon go? It wouldn't be shocking if the coaching staff isn't getting great vibes from Lyons to circle around again on Houston commit Keisean Henderson, who has remained steadfast with the Cougars but recruiting could also be the long game heading into December.

GOOD NEWS FOR OLE MISS
The news of Curtis to Georgia is great for Ole Miss when it comes to high four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth, who already had the Rebels in the lead but was intrigued by the situation in Athens if Curtis went West.
That has not happened and should only reinforce the Rebels as his front-runner. Lyons is definitely interested but Ole Miss would still be a long shot for him.

Auburn would be one to watch but that QB room is so stacked now with Florida State and South Carolina (where Duckworth was once committed), but Curtis going to Georgia is great news for the Rebels.

ONE LESS OPTION FOR OKLAHOMA COMMIT
Jaden O'Neal has been committed to Oklahoma since June 2024 and even moved to Mustang, Okla., for his senior season but the Sooners are also going after Bowe Bentley.
Others will be involved with O'Neal as Georgia has pretty much been eliminated now. Florida State is the one to watch. The four-star recently took a visit there and loved the Seminoles.

Auburn, Arizona and others could be involved.

TWO-TEAM RACE FOR BOWE BENTLEY?
Bowe Bentley/Twitter
Could it now be a two-team race between Oklahoma and LSU for four-star Bowe Bentley? The Sooners are managing a lot of relationships in the pursuit of Bentley and in trying to keep Jaden O'Neal.
But the feeling is that OU is the front-runner for Bentley, who is seen by some as offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle's guy in the 2026 class. No one is counting out LSU, especially since OU has a QB committed, but the Sooners look strong.

Dwight Howard's wife files for divorce just six months after marriage: report
Amber Rose Howard, the rapper and reality star wife of former NBA center Dwight Howard, has reportedly filed for divorce six months after the couple tied the knot. Rose, who goes by the stage name Amy Luciani, filed for divorce on July 1 in Georgia, claiming that the marriage was "irretrievably broken," TMZ Sports reported, citing court documents. The documents also state that Rose is requesting alimony, asking that the marital assets and property be "equally divided." Rose has also removed any pictures of Howard from her social media accounts. Their relationship was made public in December, as they revealed being engaged to each other on Instagram. Rose also released a children's book with Howard as her last name. Rose's reality fame comes from her time on Seasons 11 and 12 of "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta." She also released an album entitled "Amy's World" in 2023. Meanwhile, Howard spent 18 seasons in the NBA, ultimately putting together a career worthy of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. He was an eight-time All-Star, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, and won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2020-21 season. Howard's stardom began with the Orlando Magic, who drafted him first overall out of Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2004. He spent eight seasons with Orlando before joining the Lakers on his first of three stints with the team. Howard also played for the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers. Howard, who has not publicly discussed the divorce filing, is in the middle of his first season with Ice Cube's BIG3 League. Three Californians, family of former Giants pitcher, missing in Texas flash floods
The Bay Area family of a former San Francisco Giants pitcher is among those still missing following a devastating flash flood in Central Texas that killed more than 100 people last week. Hundreds gathered for a vigil Sunday in Marin County for Mark Walker, Sara Walker and their 14-year-old son, Johnny. The Kentfield family was visiting their vacation home in Hunt in Central Texas when the disaster struck. Mark is the older brother of Tyler Walker, who played for the Giants between 2004 and 2008. Mark's mother, Kathy, told the San Francisco Chronicle that Mark's 16-year-old daughter, Ellie, was attending nearby Camp Waldemar and was rescued. The family last heard from Mark on Thursday and later found out that the family's home along the Guadalupe River washed away in the flood. 'I'm sick to my stomach,' Kathy told the Chronicle. 'It's a terrible feeling, because you're helpless here.' Mark's son, Johnny, was going to be a freshman at Marin Catholic High School. The school released a statement, saying that a prayer service would be held Tuesday evening. 'In heartbreaking times like this, we turn to God and to prayer for the Walker family and all the victims of the devastating floods in Texas. We are still praying for a miracle in hopes that Ellie will be reunited with her mom, dad and brother,' according to the statement. Friday's flash flooding also claimed the lives of more than two dozen people at Camp Mystic, a Christian girls summer camp along the Guadalupe River. At least 27 campers and counselors died and as of Monday, 10 campers and a counselor are still missing. Texas officials are facing backlash over whether they adequately prepared for and warned residents of the life-threatening weather conditions in the area known as 'flash flood alley.'
