Looking for a chance to explore and get a breath of fresh air? Then Melville Koppies might be just what you're looking for.
When guests arrive at Melville Koppies, they receive an explanation about the self-guided hiking options available.
These include a 5km trail, a heritage trail, a scavenger hunt, or the opportunity to just wander around and explore.

Armed with a relevant map and advice on how to read the maps and guide themselves, guests will soon be ready to set out on their way.
The Koppies are open every Sunday morning from 08:00 to 11:30.

Don't miss the storytelling session on the second Sunday of each month and the long guided 8km hike on the last Sunday.
Security is provided, making it safe to walk alone.
There is safe parking opposite the entrance to Melville Koppies at Marks Park Sports Club in Judith Road, Emmarentia.

Entry is R100 for adults, R50 for those under 18, and free for children under five.
An annual season ticket costs R500 for adults and R250 for those under 18.
All income is used for conservation of the Koppies.

FlySafair launches Cape Town–Hoedspruit route
HOEDSPRUIT – Low-cost airline FlySafair has officially announced the launch of a new direct flight route connecting Cape Town and Hoedspruit, opening up greater travel convenience between the Western Cape and Limpopo's popular safari destination. The new route will operate as follows: Flights will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with the first flight departing on October 2. The airline stated in a media release that fares will start from R1 570 one way, subject to availability, timing, and other factors that influence pricing and ticket sales for the route. Learners urged to use extended hours for ID and passport applications The Department of Home Affairs is extending its weekday operating hours from July 7 to 21 to assist learners during the school holidays. During this period, offices will close at 18:00 instead of the usual 16:00. This extension aims to help learners apply for and collect their Smart ID Cards and passports. In addition, large offices that process Smart ID Cards and passports have introduced dedicated collection counters, where space allows, to ease pressure on clients. Clients are encouraged to book appointments for applications or collections using the Branch Appointment Booking System (BABS), available on the department's website. Those who cannot book in advance may still visit as walk-ins. Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Leon Schreiber, said: 'I encourage all clients who have applied for their identification documents and have been waiting for three weeks or more to seize this opportunity.
