Ink For Impact: Christchurch Flash Tattoo Event Supporting Paws Of Hope
Press Release – Paws of Hope On Friday 5 July Zealand Tattoo is hosting a flash tattoo event in Christchurch, donating a portion of the proceeds to support Paws of Hopes vital work, and Nikki will be lining up for her own tattoo, featuring Paws of Hope. Paws of Hope founder Nikki Marchant-Ludlow is known for wearing her heart on her sleeve – and now she's about to do it literally. On Friday 5 July Zealand Tattoo is hosting a flash tattoo event in Christchurch, donating a portion of the proceeds to support Paws of Hope's vital work, and Nikki will be lining up for her own tattoo, featuring Paws of Hope. Tattoos have the power to tell stories, honour experiences, and bring people together. On Flash Day, Zealand Tattoo founder Zane Swanston Christchurch, says that power will go further– becoming a way to help those who can't ask for help themselves. New Zealand Tattoo shop's award-winning artists specialise in Maori (Ta Moko and Kirituhi), Polynesian, Japanese, and many other contemporary styles. 'It is a great honour for us to host our next Flash Day Fundraiser in support of Paws of Hope – a foundation that exists to ensure no beloved pet goes hungry or gets left behind due to financial hardship,' she said. 'At Zealand Tattoo, we're all animal lovers, and we share the hope that fewer families will ever have to face the heartbreaking decision to surrender their pets.' Flash Day will offer the opportunity to get tattooed by experienced team at discounted fixed rates, with a portion of proceeds going straight to Paws of Hope. NZ Tattoo has prepared a custom flash sheet for the event – each design ready to wear, each tattoo helping make a difference. Paws of Hope founder Nikki Marchant Ludlow said money raised from the event will be put to vital use locally, providing pet food to a local foodbank who Paws of Hope has been supporting since November 2024. Paws of Hope is dedicated solely to providing free emergency pet food for people who are struggling to feed their pets. They have provided over 22,000 meals to date In Aotearoa, 64% of households have at least one pet and research shows over three quarters consider their dogs and cats to be cherished family members. However, the rise in the cost of living over the past few years has seen more and more pets being rehomed or surrendered to shelters already at capacity for a number of reasons including people can no longer afford to feed them as a result of the cost of living. Some of these people are living in emergency housing or even cars. The Foundation will work alongside food banks and other community providers. Nikki is looking forward to seeing other big hearted pet lovers on July 5. 'If you have been thinking about your next tattoo – or your first – come along on 5 July, get some fresh ink from some of the best in the biz, for a cause worth wearing on your skin,' she says. The event is being supported Paws of Hope partner 'Animals Like Us,' an NZ born company which manufactures pet food from sustainable and ethical sources. For every $ raised they will donate the equivalent value in food so anyone getting a tattoo is doubling their contribution. People can also donate at
