Stomach-churning find in the bakery section of a Woolworths supermarket leaves shoppers disgusted
Valentina Olivos captured footage of a mouse amongst the muffins at the Bourke Street Metro store in the CBD.
In the clip, the rodent can be seen trying to climb up the side of a box of blueberry muffins and appeared to be intently sniffing at them.
After recording the disturbing encounter, Ms Olivos let a worker know about the critter.
Woolworths said that a 'thorough clean of the affected aisle' was conducted after the team was made aware of the issue.
'We hold ourselves to the highest standards in store hygiene, so we're really disappointed to have missed the mark at our Bourke Street Metro in Melbourne on this occasion,' they said in a statement to Storyful.
Ms Olivos shared the clip on TikTok earlier this month with the caption: 'A regular Tuesday'.
Woolworths shoppers were understandably alarmed by the footage.
One commented: 'If this is in broad daylight can you imagine what happens when the store is closed and the lights are off.'
However, one viewer joked the mouse was 'looking for the cheese aisle'.
'Don't worry about little man... He's just hustling,' another added.
Someone else joked: 'Woolies are now selling pets apparently!'

Literally, got the train up, having my lips done, having filler in two areas of my bum, then taking Harvey to his new place.' Despite previously expressing regret over her past procedures, Katie proved that she wasn't deterred from getting more work done. The former glamour model emphasised to her fans that this time the process was far safer and took a lot less time under the knife. "If I'd had my bum done in Turkey it would be more dangerous. I'd be put to sleep, it would be more dangerous and they use your own fat. This is just filler. Come up here for an hour and a half and it's done, amazing," she told her Instagram followers. The mum-of-five has recently returned from a lavish and sun-soaked getaway in Dubai and after getting her latest string of cosmetic procedures done, Katie posted a close-up showing off her biggest lips yet. "See, you can tell I haven't had much today. Gone a bit more classy. I just need to get my lashes done now," she said. Katie recently opened up about her surgical procedure journey so far and which body part she regrets tweaking the most. The former glamour model said her Brazilian butt lift is among her biggest regrets. She underwent the surgery back in 2019 but swiftly got it reversed after hating just how big it looked. Earlier this year, she added filler to her backside and gave fans an insight into the procedure on her Instagram page.
