Bianca Saunders and Puma bring Jamaican heritage to east London
Running from 7 to 10 August at 137A Bethnal Green Road, the event, called 38 Love Lane, is less about product and more about storytelling. Named after a real family address in Jamaica, the space brings together fashion, music, photography, wellness and food to reflect on Caribbean heritage through a contemporary lens.
The pop-up builds on Saunders' latest zine, also titled 38 Love Lane, which she developed with Amsterdam-based photographer Kwabena Sekyi Appiah-Nti. The publication delves into Jamaican identity across generations, and the installation acts as its physical counterpart—designed to feel like a home, a gallery, and a gathering place all at once.
Set designer Y Lan Lucas, a frequent collaborator of Saunders, has created a space that balances clean minimalism with textured, Caribbean references. Music plays a key role throughout, with DJ Stephanie Okoye curating the daytime playlist, and Donnie Sunshine and Kevin taking over in the evening.
For those invited behind the scenes, there are more personal moments. A wellness session led by coach Louis Walcott explores yoga through a Caribbean male perspective. And to close the weekend, Saunders and her mother, Yves, will host an intimate dinner, serving a traditional Jamaican meal—an act of hospitality that turns the space into something closer to a family gathering than a brand event.
The pop-up coincides with the release of Puma's H-Street 'Jamaica Pack,' a limited-edition drop celebrating 63 years of Jamaican independence. The collection pays tribute to Puma's long-standing connection to Jamaican athletics, having dressed generations of the country's Olympic stars.
At a time when many fashion activations lean heavily on hype, this collaboration between Bianca Saunders and Puma stands apart. It's a reminder that storytelling, when done with care and intention, can be just as powerful as product, and perhaps, more lasting.

It's time for Byron (and Trevor the dog) to bid farewell, and he does it in true Erinsborough style – with a barbecue! Everyone gathers to wish him well, while Byron also takes time to set the record straight with Taye. He warns him to take care of Sadie, before sharing a tender farewell with her. It's clear that they only want the best for one another. Taye, however, is unimpressed to learn that Sadie is using a dating app. He decides to see how she'd react if he told her he used it too, and is disappointed to find she's largely unbothered. He finally spells it out to Max how much he likes Sadie, and he offers a solution: tell her. Boosted by the advice, he deals a shocking ultimatum – he wants a proper relationship, or nothing at all. Sadie thinks Taye is joking, and when she realises that he's being serious, explains that she's not looking for anything exclusive. He insists that they stay casual, but it soon becomes evident that his heart isn't in it. When she later checks in on him, he admits that he isn't doing great but doesn't want things to be awkward. To make matters worse, when Max goes to see Sadie, she's clearly coping a lot better. Unsure of where to navigate the situation, Sadie resolves to give Taye a wide berth for now. At the hotel, Paul is in boss mode and is determined to make Lassiters' upcoming initiatives a roaring success. He continues to stoke the rivalry between Annalise and Krista, his no nonsense approach is starting to aggravate others. Nicolette isn't happy about his plans to implement a new uniform at Harold's, while Nell is infuriated by the fact he wants to turf the Sonya Rebecchi Foundation out of the Complex and down to the old shed. Its replacement? A luxury pop-up boutique for the Jewellery Expo. Johan, the director, is seriously unimpressed, while Paul realises this is Nell's doing. Paul kicks off with Nell and Nic over their stunt, with Nell later expressing regret to Terese. She's confused how Paul can run hot and cold over their relationship, and also picks up on something fishy happening between him and Terese. Deciding to come clean, Terese admits that she doesn't want to split her time between Melbourne and New York, and Paul is surprisingly accepting. Elsewhere, Annalise opens up to Krista about her ex-husband Sam, and the two reflect on the past with a mutual understanding over Paul's behaviour. That night, when enjoying a drink in The Waterhole, she invites Leo to join her. He agrees, unaware that she has absolutely no idea who he is. Annalise starts to come onto him, and he's forced to clarify his identity. She's mortified, and Leo rushes off to tell Krista about the incident. But when Annalise also drops by, they decide to brush it off. On Ramsay Street, Remi extends an olive branch to Cara following some advice from Susan. Dex and JJ plan a romantic dinner, but Cara doesn't want to scare her wife off. The two then settle down to eat and surprisingly hit it off with an anecdote about their life together. However, when Cara misreads the signals and leans in for a kiss, Remi is horrified. Remi thinks she can't trust Cara, who is giving herself a hard time for making a mistake and offers a heartfelt apology. Regardless, Remi thinks they need some space. JJ and Dex are blindsided by the fact their Ma' wants to remove 'Murphy' from her name. They see it as a form of rejection, and rush off to see a distracted Cara, who is struggling with work. Aki, who featured in all three Tests for the British and Irish Lions here in Australia, was on the bench for the first Test in Brisbane. However, following the third Test defeat in Sydney, Aki revealed that he recently welcomed a fifth child - although he's yet to see his newest daughter. "I want to enjoy my break, my family time," said the 35-year-old as he reflected on the end of a long Lions tour. "I haven't seen my family for eight weeks. "I have a new-born child who I haven't met yet. She was born when we were playing in Brisbane, so I haven't met her. "Her name is Aine, so I'm looking forward to going and meeting my new-born child and we'll go from there." Aki and his wife have a simple theme when it comes to naming their children, with Aine joining Armani-Jade, Adrianna, Andronicus and Ailbhe. Article continues below "All my kids start with A," he added. "So my wife loved the name Aine. That's five As in the family." When asked if it had been difficult not seeing his new-born daughter and the rest of his family, Aki ultimately told the remarkable story of how his wife gave birth in New Zealand on the same day he was facing the Wallabies. "I have to say it to her. If you only knew the story of what happened, it's a funny story in itself. It was a good day. "I was in the hotel. I knew we were overdue. The missus calls me and she's like, 'Water hasn't broke but I'm going to the hospital, I'm feeling contractions.' "I go, 'Yeah, fair enough.' She goes to the hospital, we're getting ready for the team meeting pre-match, and then she calls me and says she's on the way to the hospital, so I said, 'Fine, be safe.' "Five minutes later, she sends a photo, her water broke. I was like, 'Cool, OK, are you almost there?' This is like 30 or 40 minutes away from the hospital, so I said, 'You'll be all right, Mum is there.' "Ten minutes later, she video calls me and I was like, 'S**t, what's going on?' I saw a baby on the video call, so she had it in the car on the way to the hospital. They're both strong and healthy, so happy days. "In New Zealand, yeah. So happy days." Article continues below Given the nature of the day, it might have been difficult for Aki to focus on the rugby, but the centre admitted he had no issue getting on with the task of taking on Australia at Suncorp Stadium. "I knew it was good Juju, I knew it was good Juju," he said. "So I knew we were going to have a good day."

Musicians head to Berlin as part of 'Brand Scotland' trade mission
Young Scottish musicians will perform in Berlin this week as part of a UK Government effort to promote Scottish culture and attract international investment. Members of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland (NYOS) and their guest soloist, Ryan Corbett, will perform at a business and government breakfast event at the British Ambassador's residence, hosted by Scottish secretary Iain Murray and UK's ambassador to Germany, Andrew Mitchell. The event, dubbed 'Symphony and Sausages', will see guests served smoked salmon, haggis, black pudding and homemade potato scones while showcasing Scottish music. It comes as part of efforts by the Scotland Office to boost 'Brand Scotland', promoting Scottish produce and culture in a bid to help economic growth. UK Government/Lauren Hurley Secretary for Scotland Ian Murray Murray said: 'Scotland's cultural excellence is one of our greatest assets in attracting international investment and driving economic growth. The National Youth Orchestra of Scotland represents some of our most extraordinary musical talent. I'm delighted that they are able to join me in Berlin, and this performance will demonstrate Scottish culture at its finest. 'My 'Brand Scotland' campaign is about selling all that is fantastic about Scotland to the world, to encourage both exports and inward investment in Scotland, and I'm very pleased that we have been able to fund this event in Berlin.' Brand Scotland is a key part of the UK Government's Plan for Change, bringing real rewards for people in Scotland.' The visit is part of Murray's 'Brand Scotland' trade mission to 'sell the best of Scotland to the world', forming part of the UK Government's Plan For Change. The orchestra is in Berlin to perform at the Young Euro Classic festival, premiering a new accordion concerto by Scottish composer Jay Capperauld under the baton of Catherine Larsen-Maguire. During his two-day trip, Murray will also meet German officials, including Michael Meister, Minister of State for Federal-State Relations, and representatives from Germany's 16 federal states. The breakfast is funded by a £2,700 grant from the Scotland Office's Brand Scotland fund, part of a wider UK Government programme to boost Scotland's trading relationship with Europe. Murray's visit follows the signing of a new UK-Germany treaty and comes ahead of a speech in Edinburgh where he will outline the role of Scottish culture in economic growth. The minister is also set to travel to India and Sweden as part of the 'Brand Scotland' initiative.
