Baltimore Orioles at Atlanta Braves odds, picks and predictions
The Baltimore Orioles (37-49) and the Atlanta Braves (39-47) open a 3-game interleague series at Truist Park Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET (MLB Network / Free Game of the Day). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's MLB odds around the Orioles vs. Braves odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets. Season series: First meeting; Orioles won 2-1 in 2024 The Orioles limp in with consecutive losses to the Texas Rangers Tuesday and Wednesday by a combined score of 16-2. The Orioles pitching staff has been banged around for 6 or more runs in 3 straight games and 7 of the previous 8 outings. There weren't a ton of bright spots last time out, as the O's were held to just 5 total hits. SS Gunnar Henderson had a double in 4 at-bats, but he also struck out 3 times. The Braves dropped an interleague series to the visiting Los Angeles Angels earlier this week, and Atlanta has lost or split each of the past 4 series since sweeping the New York Mets at home June 17-19. The Braves are just 2-6 in the past 8 games. Braves 1B Matt Olson has hit safely in 10 consecutive games, including a grand slam in Wednesday's game against the Angels. He has raised his average from .250 to .267 as a result of the 10-game run just since June 22. Orioles at Braves projected starters RHP Charlie Morton vs. RHP Spencer Strider Morton (4-7, 5.63 ERA) makes his 13th start and 19th appearance. He has a 1.57 WHIP, 4.3 BB/9 and 9.6 K/9 through 72 innings. Strider (3-6, 3.86 ERA) makes his 10th start. He has a 1.14 WHIP, 3.7 BB/9 and 10.5 K/9 through 49 innings. Orioles at Braves odds Provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 1:01 p.m. ET. Orioles at Braves picks and predictions Braves 6, Orioles 2 Moneyline The BRAVES (-185) are a little on the pricey side at home, but they're a decent play against old friend Morton. The right-handed veteran has struggled this season, and he surrendered 12 homers last season at Truist Park as a member of the Braves. While Atlanta hasn't exactly lit the world afire lately, Baltimore has actually been a bit worse. With Strider on the hill, Atlanta has a good chance to get off on the right foot in this interleague set. Run line/Against the spread If you're less conservative, BRAVES -1.5 (+115) could offer better value at plus-money. The Orioles are, inexplicably, 5-1 in Morton's last 6 starts, so proceed with caution. However, he has been mostly a disaster on the road and was very giving at Truist Park last season as a member of the Braves. Look for Atlanta to get to him early. In fact, betting BRAVES -0.5 (-130) – FIRST 5 INNINGS is also a recommended play. Over/Under UNDER 8.5 (+100) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at best. The O's have cashed the Under in 5 of the past 7 games on the road, while plating just 2 total runs in the past 2 games. For the Braves, the Under is 4-1 in the past 5 games, while cashing low in each of Strider's past 3 starts at home. Play our free daily Pick'em Challenge and win! Play now! There are now six golfers born in the 2000s who have won a PGA Tour event
It's a club with just a handful of members now, but eventually it'll number in the hundreds. That's inevitable. For now, though, there are six pro golfers born in the 2000s who have won a PGA Tour event. Interestingly, two of the four have two Tour wins and another already has three. The latest to do so is a big-hitter from South Africa. Here are the names of the six (for now) newbies who already have PGA Tour trophies on their mantles. Aldrich Potgieter Born: Sept. 13, 2004 Potgieter became one of the rare 20-year-olds to win a PGA Tour stop, doing so at the 2025 Rocket Classic. He had previously won on the Korn Ferry Tour as age 19. Karl Vilips Born: Aug. 16, 2001. Vilips shot a final-round 64 at Grand Reserve Club to close out his victory in the 2025 Puerto Rico Open. It was just his fourth PGA Tour start, just the 12th since 1970 to earn a PGA Tour win in his fourth or fewer starts. Joe Highsmith Born: April 19, 2000. Highsmith won the 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches after making the cut on the number and then posting back-to-back 64s over the weekend at PGA National. He's just the sixth golfer since 2003 to win after making the cut on the number. Akshay Bhatia Born: Jan. 31, 2002. Bhatia was 21 when he won the 2023 Barracuda Championship for his maiden victory. He then followed that up in the 2024 Valero Texas Open. Bhatia turned pro at 17, forgoing college for life on the professional circuit. Tom Kim Born: June 21, 2002 Kim is the actually the first golfer born in the 2000s to win on the PGA Tour when he claimed the 2022 Wyndham Championship. His story there was incredible, as he made quadruple bogey on the first hole of the tournament. By going on to win, he became the first player in the last 40 years to overcome such a start to win. He was 20 years, 1 month, 17 days old when he hoisted the trophy, the second-youngest winner on Tour since World War II. He later won the Shriners Childrens Open in Las Vegas back-to-back in 2022 and 2023. Nick Dunlap Born: Dec. 23, 2003. Dunlap's claim to fame was becoming the first amateur since Phil Mickelson in 1991 to win a PGA Tour event. Dunlap was just 20 and still enrolled at Alabama when he not only won but won in record style at the 2024 American Express. His 29-under 259 total set the tournament record for the event since it switched to a 72-hole format in 2012. [It was the Tour's lone 90-hole event for many years prior to that.] Six months later, Dunlap won the Barracuda Championship, becoming the first golfer ever to win as an amateur and as a professional in one PGA Tour season.

Liverpool want £15m for England under-21 star
Liverpool require sales. Phase one of their summer transfer spending is at an end having added big-money signings in Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili. The Reds have spent around £200m so far this summer - meaning the focus now is very much on outgoings. The squad will look very different by the time the 2025/26 season kicks off for the Premier League champions. Advertisement Sporting director Richard Hughes and head coach Arne Slot still plan on buying a new centre-forward - as well as a centre-back - but they cannot do so until more current squad members leave. Jarell Quansah has wrapped up a move to Bayer Leverkusen - and Harvey Elliott and Darwin Nunez have also been touted as potential sales. But the Reds are also in possession of some other very good youth and academy players who could earn the club decent money in the market. Morton tipped for a Liverpool exit Among that contingent is Tyler Morton. The homegrown 22-year-old was a star for England in their recent UEFA Euro under-21 Championship win but his club future is very much in doubt. Advertisement Last season was tipped to be a breakthrough campaign for the midfielder but he could not force his way into Arne Slot's plans. Worse was to come when he suffered injury. He has been suggested as a summer sale - with the club having entertained bids last year too. Back then it was estimated that Morton would go for around £20m but with one year less on his contract - and a frustrating season behind him - he is unlikely to fetch that much this time around. Liverpool ask for £15m for Tyler Morton In fact a new report in the Daily Mail claims that Liverpool have set an asking price of £15m for the No6 - who enjoyed a productive loan spell with Hull City in 2023/24. Advertisement The same report states that West Ham have got their eye on Morton as Graham Potter plots an overhaul of his squad. Intriguingly, Morton has also been linked with Ajax - where he would link up with former Liverpool coach John Heitinga - and SC Braga in Portugal who are now coached by Pep Guardiola's former staff member at Manchester City in Carlos Vicens.
