TV actress Rachi Sharma, known for her work in popular shows like
Kumkum Bhagya
, Durga Aur Charu, and Woh Toh Hai Albela, is now exploring a new genre with her upcoming show Aami Dakini. This is her first time doing a supernatural thriller.
Set in the beautiful city of Kolkata, the show brings back the channel's focus on spooky, suspense-filled stories—similar to the well-known series Aahat.
In a recent chat with Times of India TV, Rachi, who plays the role of Meera, talked about her experience with this new role. She shared how she prepared for the character and spoke about the pressure of performing in a genre that aims to scare and thrill viewers.
Tell us about your role?
I play the role of Meera Ghosh — a character with a lot of depth and emotion.
Meera is strong, brave, and takes care of her entire family. She lives with her father and younger sister. After losing her mother at a young age, she didn't let it break her. Instead, she became the emotional support for her family. For Meera, her family has always come first. She lives a simple life and doesn't dream of anything big — her only wish is to keep her loved ones safe and happy.
She is very protective of her younger sister and, after their mother passed away, she naturally took over that role, not just emotionally but in daily life too.

Meera's story is filled with emotions like fear, love, sacrifice, and standing up for what's right. Even though she's not sure where life is leading her, fate keeps putting her in difficult and unexpected situations. The story is full of suspense and mystery, and as it moves forward, viewers will see how strong Meera is and how far she'll go to protect her family and the people she cares about.
Did you have to go through any kind of preparations?
Yes, I had to prepare a lot for this role because Meera is very different from any character I've played before.
It was definitely challenging but also incredibly exciting. Since this is a horror show, the performance isn't just about reacting to fear, sometimes you have to hold the emotion silently in your body, in your eyes, and be fully present physically. One of the most fascinating aspects has been learning the technical side of things.
Horror as a genre is so layered, and I've been drawing from everything I've ever watched, films, series, to channel the right emotions.
That became my biggest reference point to understand how to portray fear, strength, and vulnerability all at once.
Continued....
Meera is not a simple character — she keeps changing. At times, she breaks down, and at other times, she's scared, but she still finds the strength to move forward. It's a very deep and emotional role, and getting to know her has taken time. I've been lucky to have a lot of support from my director, Lalit Sir, as well as the writers and the creative team.
They've helped and guided me throughout this journey. And honestly, the preparation never really stops.
With every new script, the story becomes more intense and adds more layers to Meera's journey. That's why I keep learning and growing with each scene, discovering something new about her every day.
How has the experience of working on the show been so far?
It's truly been an incredible journey. The entire cast and crew have been nothing but supportive, and the energy on set is just fantastic.
There's a genuine sense of passion in everyone's work, which is so important — especially in a genre like this. We all lift each other up, and that teamwork makes every day on set even more special. I'm really enjoying the process. This genre has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, and that's been a powerful experience as an actor.
I'm learning something new every single day, and the best part is — I'm doing what I love.
The channel is known for iconic
horror shows
like Aahat. Is there any pressure?
I wouldn't call it pressure, but yes, there's definitely a sense of responsibility. Aahat set a high standard and created a lasting legacy, so naturally, people will come in with high expectations. And that's exactly why we're working so hard — to meet and exceed those expectations. I'm honestly 2,000% confident that the audience will connect with this show. It's not just a one-off episode experience. Each episode builds more intensity, more thrill — it just keeps getting better.
Every time I receive a new script, I get goosebumps while reading it. That's how engaging it is. We're pouring our hearts into this project, and I believe it will truly leave a mark on viewers.

Anne Hathaway returns as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2 first look; fans call her 'fashion icon since 2006'

Hollywood's most iconic assistant is back and she's dressed to impress. Anne Hathaway has officially unveiled the first look of Andy Sachs from 'The Devil Wears Prada 2,' nearly two decades after the original film became a cultural phenomenon. Shared on social media with the caption 'Andy Sachs 2025 #dwp2', the image shows Hathaway in a tailored deep blue jumpsuit, tousled hair, and a radiant smile—signaling a confident, evolved version of the character. What's Andy Sachs up to now? In the 2006 original, Andy was a fresh journalism graduate who landed a high-pressure job as assistant to the formidable Miranda Priestly played by Meryl Streep, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. The sequel, is all set in a post-print era, reportedly follows Miranda as she struggles to keep Runway relevant in the middle of the decline of traditional publishing. Meanwhile, Emily Charlton played by Emily Blunt has risen to power as an executive at a luxury fashion conglomerate, one Miranda now depends on for advertising revenue. Andy's exact role remains under wraps, but her updated look suggests she's no longer just fetching lattes. Whether she's returned to journalism, fashion, or something entirely new, fans are eager to see how her journey has evolved. Fan reactions: 'She did not age at all' The internet erupted with excitement after Hathaway's post. One fan wrote, 'Fashion icon since 2006. I am already obsessed with the outfit.' Another added, 'The outfits we are going to get will be INSANELY BEAUTIFUL.' A third chimed in, 'She did not age at all. It shows how one doesn't age when you're unproblematic.' The post also sparked nostalgia, with users referencing Hathaway's other iconic roles and expressing hope for more sneak peeks in the months ahead. Who's returning—and who's new? The sequel reunites the original cast: Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and Hathaway herself. Adrian Grenier, who played Andy's boyfriend Nate, will not return—his character was widely criticized for being unsupportive in the original. New additions include Kenneth Branagh, reportedly as Miranda's latest husband, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet. Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the film is slated for release on May 1, 2026. It draws partial inspiration from Lauren Weisberger's sequel novel 'Revenge Wears Prada,' though plot details remain tightly guarded.

Khloé Kardashian reflects on her filter addiction and past photoshop struggles: ''It was a strange time...'

Khloé Kardashian confessed her past dependence on Photoshop and filters, influenced by societal beauty standards and her surroundings. She acknowledged the pressure to enhance photos, leading to insecurities and a distorted self-image. Realizing the need to embrace her authentic self, Khloé now prefers video over still photos and actively works on self-acceptance, despite occasional temptations to use filters. Khloé Kardashian is no stranger to public scrutiny, especially when it comes to beauty standards and social media. In a refreshingly honest episode of her podcast Khloé in Wonder Land, the reality TV star opened up about her past struggles with Photoshop and filters, reflecting on how they once distorted her self-image. Influenced by the Times and Those Around Her Khloé acknowledged that there was a time when she heavily relied on editing tools, influenced both by the people around her and the era's beauty standards. She reflected on how widespread the use of Photoshop once was, noting that many, including herself, felt pressured to enhance their photos more back then than people generally do today. Still Navigating Insecurity She further admitted that while she no longer relies on filters the way she once did, she still has moments of insecurity. She acknowledged that the filter culture once became so consuming that it was hard to view oneself without digital enhancements. Though she occasionally feels tempted to use a filter when she's not feeling her best, she shared that she now prefers how she looks on video over still photos and continues to work on embracing her natural self. A Wake-Up Call Reflecting on her past, Kardashian admitted she wished she had been kinder to herself. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These Are The Most Beautiful Women In The World Undo She recalled how constant exposure to heavily edited images—even of herself—blurred her sense of reality. Surrounded by people who routinely altered photos before sharing them, she began to believe those versions were real. Comparing paparazzi shots to filtered ones only deepened her confusion. Eventually, she realised the need to 'reprogram' her thinking, step back from filters, and embrace her authentic self. She described that phase as a 'strange time' where the pressure to look a certain way became overwhelming. A Public Battle with Filter Culture Khloé has long had a complicated and highly public relationship with Photoshop. Over the years, several of her social media posts have faced backlash for overly edited or face-tuned images. One notable incident sparked major online debate when her grandmother, MJ, unknowingly shared an unedited photo of Khloé in a bikini. The candid image stood in stark contrast to the polished pictures Khloé typically posts, fueling discussions about unrealistic beauty standards and the ongoing grip of filter culture on the digital world.
