Daily Recorda day ago

ITV viewers were given the latest headlines by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary during Friday's show.
During Friday's episode of This Morning, Alison Hammond shared a heartfelt moment on the show.
While speaking with Kate Lawler, who was reporting live from a football ground in anticipation of the Women's European Championship, Alison became visibly moved.

As Kate concluded her segment by demonstrating some football skills and reminiscing about her childhood dream of becoming a footballer, Alison made a confession.

She remarked: "You know what is so lovely? It actually makes me a little bit emotional because of how far women's football has come."
She continued, expressing her joy and aspirations for the sport, adding: "It's actually beautiful to see. It makes me so happy, it really does. It's unbelievable, I just want them to be paid the same. I wish."
Kate, during the broadcast, confessed to being "star-struck" while interviewing two England Lioness legends, reports Wales Online.
Janet Bagguley, a member of the 1972 team who now works as a postwoman, proudly displayed her 12 caps earned during her football career, stating: "I'm very, very proud."
Acknowledging the progress of women's football, Janet expressed her amazement: "Oh, it's absolutely fantastic!"

She reflected on the impact of the previous European Championship victory, adding: "When you look at these kids behind us today, and after we won the Euro's last time, it went boom."
Janet also spoke to viewers about her current role, gathering letters of support for the England team as part of her postal duties.

Discussing the Lioness Letter campaign, she revealed: "We've been around all the schools, we're in Manchester later today, we're in London over the weekend.
"Anybody can come and write their own letter, and we promise they'll be delivered to the Lionesses."

Janet, holding one of the letters, informed Kate that it was written by her five-year-old granddaughter wishing the team good luck.
Kate responded: "That's class, that is! I just want to say, I can't believe I'm stood with an OG Lioness."
The UEFA Women's EURO 2025 will take place from 2 to 27 July in Switzerland, across eight venues. Both ITV and the BBC will provide coverage.
This Morning is available to watch on ITVX.

Katie Price forced to delete Princess' Instagram post after awkward mistake

A red-faced Katie Price was forced to delete an Instagram tribute to daughter Princess Andre this week. 47-year-old glamour model and personality Katie shares influencer daughter Princess (full name Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther Andre) with former husband Peter Andre. Earlier this week, she took to social media to wish her 17-year-old daughter a happy 18th birthday. Posting a picture of Princess to her Instagram Stories, Katie wrote: 'Happy 18th birthday to the most amazing daughter and my best friend @princess_andre I love you so much'. Realising the mistake she'd made, Katie then took the post down and replaced it with another. '2 days until Princess turns 18 can't believe it xx,' she wrote in the updated post. The TV personality is also mother of Harvey (23), Junior (20), Jett (11), and Bunny (10). Harvey's father is footballer Dwight Yorke, while Junior and Princess were both born from her four-year marriage to Peter Andre. She shares youngest children Jett and Bunny with ex Kieran Hayler, to whom she was married between 2013 to 2018. Princess has indicated her intention of following in her mother's footsteps, previously sharing her ambition of becoming a millionaire before she turns 20. She's already scored brand deals with the likes of Superdrug and PrettyLittleThing, and is also launching her own jewellery line. It was announced earlier that year that she would headline her own ITV show, which follows her journey into the public eye. While Katie is not expected to appear in the show, dad Peter and brother Junior will cameo, along with Peter's wife, Emily. In March, Princess sparked controversy by posting a picture of the £25,000 Audi A1 she purchased after passing her driving test. While many accused her of buying the car with her rich and famous parents' money, Princess hit back, claiming she had her own income. More Trending 'These comments are so funny. To everyone out there, yes I work and yes I earn my own money which I'm super proud of and so thankful that I am lucky enough to buy my own car xx,' she wrote. Mum Katie also commented, saying: 'So proud and so scared at the same time. My baby girl turns 18 next month too so lots of exciting things we will be doing together.' Of Princess passing her driving test, proud dad Peter wrote in his column: 'She kept telling me she failed four times. But you know what they say – or maybe don't say! – The fifth time's a charm. 'As I said to her, it's actually better that it's taken a while for her to pass because at least she knows now that she genuinely deserves to pass and she can feel confident on the roads.' Emmerdale's new ' superbitch' on secret crush on co-star Dominic Brunt

Watch out Kim Tate! Emmerdale's new 'super bitch', Casualty actress Jaye Griffiths is relishing her role as the new village baddie Celia Emmerdale's new 'super bitch' farmer Jaye Griffiths has praised the Yorkshire soap for casting a Black actor as a baddie and not a saviour. Already a household name, after a 40-year career that's seen her appear in everything from The Bill to Silent Witness, EastEnders and Casualty, Jaye says her new role as Celia is one of her best ever. ‌ Jaye, 61, says of ITV casting her as a 'bitch': 'It was a courageous thing to do. We (black actors) are often portrayed as the saviours, because the white saviour rolling in on a horse is such trope that it's now the reverse – namely black people ride in to save the day. ‌ 'But Emmerdale has said 'good and bad people, they don't have a skin colour, there are just good and bad people'. I'm thrilled Emmerdale has done this.' And Celia is a delight to play. 'She is not a wallflower and in the opening scenes, she's like a bulldog!' says Jaye. 'Celia has so many secrets and that's fantastic. 'She doesn't need any friends, she doesn't understand when people get upset and she never says sorry! She gets what she wants and this is, without a shadow of doubt, one of the best ever parts I've been given. 'Playing Celia is so freeing. She never worries about what people think. I love playing Celia.' ‌ Aside from her part, Jaye says Emmerdale is a super-friendly place to work. 'Everyone wants the show to be good and they aren't threatened by new people coming in,' she says. 'It's good to be kind to one another.' But Celia is far from kind. On Monday she will turn up at Moira's door asking to rent two of her fields. Despite needing the money, Moira refuses and the two women then enter into a fierce war of words - with Celia being very catty towards the Dingle favourite. ‌ Then she falls out with Paddy Dingle (played by Dominic Brunt), who is attacked by one of her security dogs and hospitalised. 'As viewers will soon see, there will be consequences if you don't give Celia what she wants,' Jaye teases. 'Celia is upfront with people and it's not horrible – more a case of 'give me what I want'. The fact people take offence is astonishing to her! One of my favourite words she uses is 'cheerio' as she says it in a slightly threatening way. ‌ 'You can't trust what she says is true either!' As for hospitalising Paddy? 'Celia doesn't take any responsibility,' says Jaye. 'Winding Paddy up is very enjoyable for her. She has a run in with Moira, but she will be having other power struggles, not just with the women, but men too. She's an equal opportunities wind up person!' ‌ Unlike her character, Jaye is likeable and she has a great sense of humour. With acting credits including Ros Henderson in the BBC 's Bugs, D.I Sally Johnson in The Bill and Elle Gardner in Casualty, she has plenty to boast about. ‌ But she says: 'When I was a child, pride was considered a sin. So, when I look back on my jobs, I don't know if I am proud or not. I am certainly not ashamed.' Bugs, Casualty and The Bill were her three favourite dramas. 'I'd go back on The Bill in a heartbeat if they ever brought it back,' she confides. ‌ 'My character, Sally, was a bit naughty but it was a joyous show to work on. I used to love getting out the warrant card and there were times I wished I could get it out when I was driving in real life! 'I also did a small film called Care. That was extraordinary too and I loved Bugs.' ‌ Married to Paul Bezodis, they live in Hertfordshire with their two rescue dogs. 'Everyone needs someone who has your back and says 'yes' for you,' she says, referring to Paul. 'I am lucky I have that.' Immediately clicking with the Emmerdale cast, Jaye has bonded with Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby Milligan, and Natalie J Robb, who plays her arch-rival, Moira. 'Dominic, I also had a bit of a crush on when I did my audition,' she chuckles. 'He was so generous and kind with his time and, there and then, I knew I wanted to work with him all the time! All the cast are lovely.' ‌ And her secret to proving herself on Emmerdale is simple. Like most things, the best way is to turn up on time and do your job,' she says. She will definitely have one big fan when she makes her entrance in the Dales - her mum. ,Jaye chuckles: 'OMG my mum was beside herself when she found out I'd got the part of Celia. She was so excited and told everyone ‌ 'You would think I had been put on the Apollo mission!' And the rollercoaster Celia is about to take us on will certainly keep viewers on their toes. 'She is such a strange, complex woman,' says Jaye. 'There is more to come. It is so much fun. Celia wears farm clothes but there is not a scrap of mud on her. She is immaculate. She wears a cravat and there is a reason for that …' ‌ Her advice to other Emmerdale folk is to beware of Celia and give her what she wants! She says: 'I know viewers will think she is a villain at the start, but there is also a lot more to her and she will calm down. 'She will be manipulating people too. My advice to all the villagers is give Celia what she wants then they won't have to watch out!' *Emmerdale airs every weekday on ITV1 and STV1 on weekdays at 7.30pm.

Lauren James in line to make return from injury for England against Jamaica

The Chelsea forward, 23, has been unable to feature for club or country since limping off midway through the Lionesses' 5-0 Nations League win against Belgium nearly three months ago. James returned to training last week and boss Sarina Wiegman says the England star could feature in Sunday's final warm-up friendly against Jamaica at Leicester's King Power Stadium. 'We have to manage the minutes,' the Lionesses head coach said. 'She's doing really well, but of course she hasn't played games yet. But she's in a good place. 😁 LJ — Lionesses (@Lionesses) June 26, 2025 'She will likely come off the bench, we can manage that a bit. She showed up on the training session really well. 'She could cope with loads and recover from loads. Her performance has been really good. 'She's ready, we're just still growing into minutes. This is the first time in a while that she's coming into a game and [she needs to] get through that. Then we'll take it from there towards the tournament.' James sparkled during England's run to the World Cup final in Australia two years ago and team-mate Jess Carter says it is 'really exciting' for her to be back. 'For me she's a good friend and we all know she is an incredible footballer, but I think the most impressive thing for me is just that she has come back in like a new player,' the defender said. 'Maybe the injury was a bit of a blessing in disguise, in terms of that she just looks so fresh, so sharp, and she really impacts the game and the team. 'And she is a pain to play against. Good luck to any of the other players having to play against her in the tournament.' England kick-off their Euros title defence against France in Zurich next Saturday, before Group D continues with clashes against the Netherlands and Wales. Squad selfie 🤳 ✅ — Lionesses (@Lionesses) June 27, 2025 It is a tough-looking pool, but Football Association chief executive Mark Bullingham has said that Wiegman will stay regardless of the outcome in Switzerland. 'We've had conversations and, of course, I extended my contract until 2027, after the World Cup,' said the Lionesses boss, who has led England to Euros glory and a World Cup final in her two tournaments at the helm. 'We're going into a new tournament now and I feel very happy here. I'm excited to go into a new tournament. 'I'm not looking too much ahead – the contract is until 2027 and I've always felt so much support from Mark and the board and I still feel that way. And it's really nice that he confirms that.'
