'What's the point?' - Scheffler's daily golfing wrestle
His wife Meredith gave birth to their son Bennett 14 months ago and Scheffler said if golf started to impact his family he would quit the sport."I'm blessed to be able play golf, but if my golf ever started affecting my home life or it ever affected the relationship I have with my wife or my son, that's going to be the last day that I play out here for a living," he added."This is not the be-all and end-all. This is not the most important thing in my life. That's why I wrestle with, why is this so important to me?"Because I'd much rather be a great father than I would be a great golfer. That's what's more important to me."Scheffler has won three times this year, has one runner-up finish and eight other top-10s in 15 events. He has not finished outside the top 25 this season, not missed a cut since the FedEx St Jude Classic in August 2022."Showing up at the Masters every year it's like, 'Why do I want to win this golf tournament so badly? Why do I want to win The Open Championship so badly?'" he said."I don't know because if I win it's going to be awesome for two minutes, then we're going to get to the next week and it's, 'hey, you won two majors this year; how important is it for you to win the FedEx Cup play-offs?'"It feels like you work your whole life to celebrate winning a tournament for like a few minutes. It only lasts a few minutes, that kind of euphoric feeling."

Who is the favourite to win the The Open Championship 2025?
Golf's finest go head-to-head in the final major of the year as they arrive at Royal Portrush including Northern Ireland's very own Rory McIlroy who is surprisingly not the bookies favourite Golf's greats will once again descend on the dramatic links of Royal Portrush for the 2025 Open Championship, returning to a course that last witnessed Shane Lowry's unforgettable triumph in 2019. That year, Lowry delivered a dominant display, finishing at 15 under par—so far ahead that only nine others finished within eleven shots. His win wasn't just about handling the pressure or mastering the greens; it was a celebration of those who could drive it straight and strike pure irons, a pattern that defined the leaderboard. Reviewing the top performers from that week—Tommy Fleetwood, Tony Finau, Brooks Koepka, Lee Westwood, Rickie Fowler, Tyrrell Hatton, Danny Willett, Robert MacIntyre, and Patrick Reed—it's clear that accuracy and consistency with long clubs were prized over sheer distance or short-game heroics. Portrush is no pushover; it rewards those who can keep their ball in play and hit precise approaches while punishing even minor lapses. What made 2019 remarkable was how even the world's best found the course a stern test. Of the top six in the Official World Golf Ranking at the time, only Koepka cracked the top 20. In majors where big names often dominate, Portrush levelled the playing field—demanding unwavering quality over reputation. The layout at Royal Portrush is a true test of nerve and shot-making. When you're dialled in, there are low scores to be had. But for anyone off their game, mistakes add up quickly and dramatically. Unlike some other Open venues where scoring tends to bunch up, Portrush exposes both excellence and frailty. The opening hole alone sets nerves jangling with out-of-bounds on both sides—just ask Rory McIlroy about his experience there. Looking ahead to this year's contest, Portrush is set up perfectly for those who excel with their irons and drive it accurately. It isn't a place for players to simply overpower trouble or rely on miraculous recoveries around every green. Instead, it demands composure under pressure and technical brilliance throughout four days. In this context, Collin Morikawa and Scottie Scheffler stand out as likely contenders. Scheffler especially seems poised for a breakthrough at The Open—his ability to find fairways and hit crisp approaches fits exactly what Portrush requires. If he can avoid the hazards that lurk off every tee and approach, he could well be lifting his first Claret Jug come Sunday. Who is the favourite to win The Open? Despite Rory McIlroy's impressive display at the Scottish Open, Scottie Scheffler is priced as the favourite to win legendary Claret Jug in Northern Ireland this weekend. The American is best priced at 6/1 with Sky Bet to win the competition in what will be only his fourth major win and first Open Championship victory. Other bookies are listing Scheffler at 5/1 including Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and Unibet while William Hill and SpreadEx have the current PGA Championship winner on 11/2. The world number one is keen to get his hands in the Jug in what has been the only major he has struggled with in comparison. This and the US Open are the remaining majors to win to secure a Career Grand Slam having already picked up the PGA Championship this year and two Green Jackets in the Masters in 2022 and 2024. The Open Championship 2025 Outright Odds Scottie Scheffler - 6/1 Rory McIlroy - 13/2 Jon Rahm - 12/1 Bryson DeChambeau - 22/1 Ludvig Aberg - 22/1 Tommy Fleetwood - 22/1 Tyrrell Hatton - 25/1 Shane Lowry - 25/1 Robert MacIntyre - 28/1 Viktor Hovland - 28/1 Collin Morikawa - 33/1 BAR - 66/1 18+ | Gamble responsibly | | Odds subject to change | Odd supplied by Sky Bet The Open Championship Betting Offers If you are on the lookout for the latest free bet offers, then look no further. Kai Trump admits how she really feels about being the president's granddaughter
Kai Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, provided some insight into the life of a relative of the most powerful person in the world. Kai, an influencer and prominent junior golfer, recently appeared on 'Fox & Friends' and spoke about the 'special bond' that she shares with her grandfather. In particular, Kai spoke about how he pushed her to be a better golfer. It's paid off, as she's now set to play the sport at the University of Miami in Florida. 'He taught me to just keep on working at it, and, honestly, I've gotten a lot better in past years with golf, but, he really just [taught me to keep] trying to keep on fighting and keep on practicing and whatnot,' she told the program. 'And I love playing golf… it's something that we share, a special bond together.' Kai has yet to even begin playing the sport in college, but she's already signed NIL deals with brands before she tees off. She promoted the latest deal she inked, with Accelerator Energy Drink, on the show. Still, the high school student has spoken about how difficult it is to have such famous relatives. 'I mean, it's a lot to handle sometimes with the public eye and also being a high school student and just like a normal kid,' she said. 'But honestly I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm very lucky and grateful for the opportunity I have to meet all these people and meet world leaders. 'I'm very thankful and just lucky to have this opportunity.' As for why she chose Miami, Kai said she knew that the Hurricanes were the team for her after a tour with her mother. 'Well, I decided I went to visit August before my junior year,' Kai explained. 'I visited a lot of colleges with my mom. When I went there I was like right, this is the one. This is the place I want to be. 'Once I went there I had a feeling inside so I knew it was the place for me. But I would say for all those athletes that are visiting schools, talking to colleges, just see where you want to develop to be the best player and I think it's important to like the coach. 'Mine will develop me to be the best player and best person I can be. That is important for my decision at Miami. For those kids who are going and checking out colleges, to see where you want to be and see which people you want to surround yourself around.' Recently, Kai competed in a junior tournament alongside Charlie Woods in Florida Recently, Kai competed in a junior golf tournament alongside Tiger Woods' son, Charlie. Tiger Woods and Kai's mother, Vanessa Trump, are currently dating. In the 41st edition of the Nicklaus Junior Championship in late June, Charlie finished even-par for the tournament with a final round 69 (2-under) to place sixth in a field of 122 boys golfers. Meanwhile, Kai struggled to a final round score of a 3-over 74, putting her 17-over for the tournament and tied for 21st out of 32 golfers. Tiger and Vanessa went public with their relationship earlier this year, 10 days after exclusively broke the news that the golf icon was dating Donald Trump Jr.'s ex-wife. Alongside two pictures of the loved-up couple, Woods wrote: 'Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. 'At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.' The couple have the blessing of the President, with Trump himself saying he was happy when he learned that they had become an item. 'He told me about it, and I said, 'Tiger, that's good, that's good. I'm very, happy for both.' But they just let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They're both great,' Trump said.

Conor McGregor ‘reveals huge UFC comeback' just a day after Azealia Banks ‘nudes' allegations and cheating scandal
Conor McGregor will make his long-awaited return to the UFC at their rumoured White House event next year, Bare Knuckle FC founder Dave Feldman has alleged. The Irish MMA superstar has not stepped foot inside the octagon since July 2021, where he suffered a horror leg break against American fighter Dustin Poirier in the third fight of their trilogy. McGregor was set to face rival Michael Chandler last summer but, after months of fight build-up, was forced to pull out of the bout due to a toe injury. While many fans have given up hope of McGregor making, yet another, comeback to the sport, Feldman's comments may give them renewed hope. 'He's got two fights left on his contract. He's got to get right,' he told The Ariel Helwani Show. 'The whole world's waiting. Is he going to get in shape and fight? 'He told me in person, he whispered in my ear, he said, "I'm in the testing pool. I'm getting ready to make my comeback. I'm going to fight on that big card, then I'm going to have another fight, and then we can talk".' McGregor himself also teased his MMA return last week at a Bare Knuckle FC event. 'It's looking like I'm headed to the Oval Office again,' he said. 'That's where I'm headed next'. His statement was met by a round of applause from fans in attendance. Donald Trump announced that he wants a card to take place at the White House during America's 250th birthday next July - which led to McGregor's interest. As part of his victory lap after Congress passed his 'Big Beautiful Bill', Trump mentioned ways that the United States would celebrate its 250th birthday. Among the suggestions was a mixed martial arts event inside The Octagon steps from the Oval Office. News of McGregor's potential return comes just a day after he found himself embroiled in scandal earlier on Monday when rapper Azealia Banks shared alleged nude photos of him, which she claimed he sent to her unprompted. Banks, who is known for getting into high-profile feuds on social media, posted two shocking photos seemingly of McGregor posing in the mirror while completely naked, which she alleges he sent to her via direct message on X despite not following him. 'How you gonna send a b**** a some crooked d*** pics then threaten her not to tell,' she wrote alongside the screenshots. '@TheNotoriousMMA n**** do you know who the f*** I am? This is HARAM'. McGregor was spotted smooching the mystery woman in full view of fellow beachgoers Banks then continued: 'Like how are you really going to sexually harrass me with the potato farmer d*** then threaten me not to tell???? Honey…… ain't u trying to be the president of Ireland what is it giving fam? Use some f***ing sunscreen damn'. As well as the alleged nude selfies, the screenshots also show a message from what appears to be McGregor's account reading: 'Don't be a rat cos all rats get caught'. Alongside one image which seemingly shows his manhood strapped to a dumbbell, the Irish fighter apparently wrote: 'Lifting weights'. Banks then shared another screenshot of the alleged pictures suddenly being 'hidden' on X because she does not follow McGregor's account. Although it is unclear if he had anything to do with that change, she commented: 'The motherf***er woke up early LOL.' Banks' accusations came after McGregor, who has been engaged to his fiancée Dee Devlin since August 2020, was caught packing on the PDA with a mystery bikini-clad woman on a Florida beach over the weekend. A beaming McGregor was all over the unknown woman during a beach day in Fortwife Lauderdale, Florida, with his loyal partner Dee Devlin nowhere in sight. McGregor was spotted enjoying a cold beverage while the woman, who was dressed in a racy leopard print bikini, shared his sun lounger. The pair chatted away in the shade as the sportsman cozied up to her by wrapping his arm around her back.
