In the Kanwar Yatra procession, Kanwariyas collect water from a river and carry it hundreds of kilometres to offer it to the shrines of Lord Shiva. Devotees across the country perform worship, fasting and pilgrimage dedicated to the Lord Shiva. Emphasising that adequate arrangements are being made for Kanwariyas, UP minister AK Sharma said that the administration is ensuring that there are no potholes on the route and drains are covered. "This one month is like a celebration throughout the country. We are ensuring that there are no potholes on the roads, especially in cities along the Kanwar route. We are making sure all manholes and drains are properly covered to avoid any unforeseen accidents at night. Arrangements for separate restrooms for men and women have been made along the Kanwar route. Arrangements for meals of Kanwar Yatris are also being made," Sharma said. "We are making sure the facilities are better than last year's. Streetlights are being installed throughout the Kanwar route. One thing we have learnt from Muharram Tazia processions is that we will ask Kanwar yatris not to make very high DJ setups to avoid coming in contact with high-tension power lines," he added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like You Won't Believe the Price of These Dubai Apartments Binghatti Developers FZE Get Offer Undo Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath paid floral tribute to the late mother of BJP leader Dharampal Singh in Bijnor. UP School Refuses Fee Waiver For Gorakhpur Girl Despite CM Yogi's Promise

Last Updated: The family said the Chief Minister assured them her education would not be disrupted due to financial constraints and promised a fee waiver. A school in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, declined to waive the fees of a Class 7 student, despite Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assuring her of support for her education following her appeal for financial assistance. Pankhuri Tripathi, a student at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Gorakhpur, approached CM Yogi Adityanath during Janata Darbar on July 1, requesting a school fee waiver after her father lost his job due to a leg injury. The family said the Chief Minister assured them her education would not be disrupted due to financial constraints and promised a fee waiver. However, Pankhuri and her father were informed by the school that fee waivers were not possible. 'I had gone to the Chief Minister with a fee waiver request. He gave me a chocolate and assured me that it would be done. But when I went to school with my father, they misbehaved with us," she said, as quoted by NDTV. The school, run by Vidya Bharati, charges Rs 1,650 per month. According to reports, Pankhuri's pending dues are about Rs 18,000. The student's father, Rajiv Kumar Tripathi, said he lost his job after a fall during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been struggling to pay school fees for both his children. He said he was moved by his daughter's disappointment. 'When I saw my daughter crying, I broke down too," he said. Akhilesh Yadav Reacts The issue drew a sharp response from the Opposition, with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav offering to support the girl's education. — Akhilesh Yadav (@yadavakhilesh) July 5, 2025 Despite the political outreach, the family expressed faith in CM Yogi Adityanath, who represents Gorakhpur. 'We are associated with the Math and Maharajji. We believe he would ensure my daughter's education," said Tripathi. While the school administration declined to give any comment, an official from the state education department said a letter has been sent to the school, and a positive resolution is expected. Uttar Pradesh no longer

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 7 (ANI): BJP MP Dinesh Sharma has praised the 'transformation' of Uttar Pradesh under the BJP-led government, claiming that the state has shed its image of lawlessness and has now become the 'best state'. 'Everyone knows what kind of rule is prevailing in Uttar Pradesh. The era of lawlessness has ended, and now the rule of the people is in place... It took a considerable amount of time to transform Uttar Pradesh. Today, after 8 years, Uttar Pradesh has become not just excellent but the best state...' Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state currently has 10 per cent forest cover and the goal is to raise it to 16 per cent. 'The campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' that we started in alignment with the Prime Minister's vision on World Environment Day - June 5, 2025, is achieving new heights of success. On June 29, this campaign moved ahead, and on July 9, it will achieve a new height when 37 crore saplings will be planted across Uttar Pradesh... I am happy that the 210 crore tree plantation programs were successfully completed in 8 years. We now have 10 per cent forest cover. We should aim for 16% of forest cover in Uttar Pradesh, which will equal the country's 16% population living in the state,' CM Yogi Adityanath said. He further said that PM Modi has decided that India will achieve the target of Net Zero in Carbon Emissions, and the government has made several transformations in this regard. 'In 2017, when we had to conduct a plantation drive, we could hardly obtain five crore saplings from the nurseries of the forest department. In 2025, we have 52 crore saplings - and are not of Eucalyptus or Popular but neem, mango, peepal,' he said. 'I am happy that PM Modi's campaign to protect the environment by planting saplings - under 'Ek ped maa ke naam' campaign has been successful and to give it a newer heights, on July 9, a record number of saplings - over 37 crore will be planted in a single day,' he added.
