Actor Ronit Roy has finally addressed the speculation around his return as Mihir in the new season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The much-awaited reboot of the iconic daily soap has fans buzzing, but the original Mihir won't be part of it.
While talking to Etimes TV, Ronit confirmed the news and shared his feelings about the show's comeback. 'I'm happy that they decided to bring back Kyunki. And unfortunately, it didn't work out for me. But of course, Kyunki is a show that has been very close to my heart," he said.
Ronit recalled spending eight years with the show and sent his best wishes to the new team. He also opened up about whether he'd take on another long-format television show in the future.
'I'm not averse to doing a long show or being on television for a longer time. However, as I mentioned, there is still much to be desired on television. 25 years from when I began. And the world has changed. Some need to be fixed regarding television. So, once that happens, I will likely be back. Till such time, I'm happy where I am."
Currently, Ronit is playing King Someshwar in Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. Over his career, he has starred in several hit shows including Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kasamh Se, and Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar, earning praise for his powerful performances both on television and in films.
After years of speculation and anticipation, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is finally making a grand return — and fans of the iconic show have reason to celebrate. Ektaa Kapoor's show is counted among one of the most successful Indian soap operas of all time. Some old cast of the series have also been reprising their roles after almost 17 years since the last episode of season 1 was aired. Produced under the banner of Balaji Telefilms, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi aired on Star Plus from July 3, 2000, to November 6, 2008.

Mentioning Smriti Irani, he said, "She was my size as a woman and probably more successful than me. It's just that she left earlier and that was Smriti Irani. When she started Kyunki Saas (bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) to when she ended, she was huge. See the first year of Kyunki and the last year of Kyunki, she's as big as I am. But equally successful." Ram then implied that while it will be difficult for more men to achieve success with the weight, women like Smriti have. "It will be difficult for another guy to do it, I agree. But Smriti did it; she did it with all that weight," he added.
