Gaza Central Emergency Committee denies media reports of hundreds of trucks entering Rafah Crossing

Saba Yemen3 days ago
Gaza – Saba:
The Central Emergency Committee in the Gaza Strip today denied media statements issued by some official Egyptian entities claiming that hundreds of trucks had entered the Strip, along with extensive medical evacuations and urgent humanitarian services.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the committee stressed that these reports 'do not reflect reality at all' and only contribute to misleading public opinion and 'beautifying a painful and severe failure' to meet even the minimum needs of the Strip.
The committee clarified that the reported numbers 'do not exist on the ground,' and the talk of hundreds of trucks entering daily through the Rafah crossing 'is baseless and inconsistent with the field observations of Gaza municipalities.'
It further noted that medical evacuations are being exaggerated in media statements, while in reality, they cover only a very small percentage of the wounded and sick and are carried out through 'complicated and slow mechanisms that resemble collective humiliation.'
'There are tens of thousands of patients and wounded, including children and those with critical disabilities, still left to face their fate in scenes history will be ashamed to document,' the committee said.
It added that recent Egyptian statements about so-called 'efforts to alleviate suffering' are essentially an attempt to justify 'failure to fulfill a humanitarian, moral, and Arab duty toward the people of Gaza, who are living through a complete catastrophe.'
'There is no clean water, no electricity, no functioning infrastructure, no sufficient food for children, the sick, and the displaced, and cemeteries are overflowing with the bodies of innocents,' the committee stated.
The committee called on Egyptian authorities for the immediate and unconditional opening of the Rafah crossing to allow the entry of essential aid and life-saving supplies and to end the 'complex and humiliating coordination' that obstructs the entry of ambulances, medical supplies, and the fuel needed to operate generators.
It also demanded the publication of real figures for those entering and exiting Gaza through Rafah instead of 'creating the illusion of solidarity,' and called for a true assumption of Arab national responsibility instead of 'issuing media statements that neither feed the hungry nor save the wounded.'
'We refuse to be used as cover for statements that distort the truth and will not remain silent in the face of this organized betrayal of a besieged people being exterminated in full view of the world,' the committee declared.
The statement concluded: 'It is time for Egypt—with all its weight and stature—to move from the logic of 'neutral mediation' to a decisive moral position alongside stricken Gaza, as this is its natural place, its national duty, and the role Palestinians and all Arabs expect of it.'

UN Confirms Over 100 Palestinians Martyred in Two Days at Gaza Aid Distribution Points

New York – Saba: Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, stated Friday that more than 100 people were martyred and hundreds injured in Gaza over the past two days while attempting to access food at military aid distribution points. During a daily press briefing, the UN official emphasized that no one should risk their lives to obtain food, stressing the imperative to protect civilians at all costs. He called for unimpeded and sufficient aid distribution to Palestinians in Gaza, warning that months of deprivation have deepened the crisis. Haq underscored the urgent need to remove obstacles hindering aid flow into Gaza and ensure humanitarian workers can perform their duties swiftly and safely. Israeli enemy crimes against Palestinians awaiting aid in Gaza continue daily since the implementation of the "Israeli-American mechanism" supervised by the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" on May 27. Earlier Friday, Gaza's Health Ministry reported the total martyrs of the "bread queues" - aid seekers arriving at hospitals - has risen to 1,383 martyrs and over 9,218 injuries since May 27. With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has committed genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 60,332 Palestinian civilian martyrs (mostly women and children) and 147,643 injured - incomplete figures as thousands remain trapped under rubble inaccessible to rescue teams Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Gaza Ministry: Famine death toll rises to 169, 7 died in last 24 hours

Gaza - Saba: The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that the death toll from famine in the Strip has risen to 169, including 93 children. The ministry said in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded 7 new deaths due to famine and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, including one child. The ministry stressed that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen under the blockade and shortages of food and medical supplies, renewing its call for immediate and urgent intervention by the international community and relief organizations. Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been facing an unprecedented wave of hunger since the Israeli enemy closed the Strip's crossings in early March and imposed severe restrictions on the entry of food and relief aid, fuel, and medicine. Over time, Gazans have exhausted all food supplies, shops have become empty, and finding a loaf of bread has become almost impossible. Meanwhile, available goods have seen skyrocketing prices, with "death by starvation" becoming one of the most devastating causes of death in the Strip. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Egypt, UAE Coordinate to Supply 2 Million Gallons of Water Daily to Gaza Residents

The United Arab Emirates and Egypt are intensifying their humanitarian coordination to deliver 2 million gallons of potable water daily to residents of the Gaza Strip, as part of a broader joint relief effort, UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Organizations Sultan Al Shamsi announced on Wednesday. Speaking during a live phone interview with Egypt's Sada El-Balad TV, Al Shamsi highlighted the ongoing water desalination efforts aimed at serving over one million Gazans. Plans are underway to expand the water supply line deeper into central Gaza. Al Shamsi revealed that 5,000 tons of Emirati aid are currently staged in El Arish, Egypt, awaiting entry into Gaza. Additionally, 143 trucks loaded with food supplies, medical equipment, and water are part of the relief convoy. 'Providing safe drinking water is our top priority in Gaza right now,' said Al Shamsi, underlining that access to clean water remains one of the most critical challenges in the besieged enclave. He also confirmed the presence of a floating Emirati hospital stationed in El Arish, as well as a field hospital inside Gaza, which have together supported the treatment of over 2,600 patients and companions from Gaza in the UAE. Al Shamsi addressed circulating reports about the closure of the Rafah border crossing, categorically denying them: 'I have seen with my own eyes that the crossing is open on the Egyptian side,' he stated. He also dismissed what he described as "rumors" intended to undermine relief operations, affirming that no misinformation campaign would halt the humanitarian support being provided by both Egypt and the UAE. 'Whatever is being said, we will continue our mission. Egypt and the UAE are committed to helping the Palestinian people,' he said. The Gaza Strip has been grappling with acute shortages in water, electricity, fuel, and medical supplies due to ongoing conflict and restricted access points. The UAE and Egypt's joint efforts are seen as a vital humanitarian lifeline, offering both immediate relief and infrastructure-based solutions.
