How Miley Cyrus really feels about dad Billy Ray's surprising romance with Elizabeth Hurley: ‘I'm being an adult about it'
Miley Cyrus used to be young, but now she's handling her parents' new relationships like a grown-up.
The singer shared her feelings on her father Billy Ray Cyrus' romance with Elizabeth Hurley during Saturday's episode of the 'Interview' podcast, explaining she's 'being an adult' about the situation.
'At first, it's hard because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy,'' she said.
'So my adult self has caught up.'
The 'Flowers' hitmaker also confirmed she and her father are no longer estranged after their reunion at her brother Braison's 31st birthday party earlier this month.
The father-daughter rift reportedly dates back to 2022 when Billy Ray and Miley's mom, Tish Cyrus, announced they were divorcing after nearly 30 years of marriage.
'I think timing is everything. You know, there's been enough bridges now of time to get us all reconnected,' the pop star said.
Miley added that she's had to learn to '[respect] her parents as individuals.'
'My mom's really loved my dad for her whole life,' she continued. 'And I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard.'
Miley, 32, admitted that she 'took on some of [her] mom's hurt' during her parents' breakup.
'But now that my mom is like so in love with my stepdad Dom, who I also just completely adore. And now that my dad, I see him finding happiness outside of that too, I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of, you know, a parental pairing,' she said.
Tish married 'Prison Break' actor Dominic Purcell in August 2022.
In April, the 'Achy Breaky Heart' hitmaker sent shockwaves when he revealed his relationship with the 'Austin Powers' actress, 59, over Easter weekend.
In the snap, the two-time Grammy winner, 63, planted a kiss on Hurley's cheek as she smiled.
A source exclusively told Page Six last month that the couple has 'been friends for a long time and both found themselves single at the same time.'
The country music singer's new relationship came nearly a year after he finalized his contentious divorce from Firerose in August 2024.

Liz Hurley helping beau Billy Ray Cyrus 'fix toxic family feud' after startling realisation
Elizabeth Hurley and her country legend beau Billy Ray Cyrus have been cosying up at glamorous events since going public in April – but their romance runs far deeper than red carpet appearances together, a source close to Liz has claimed. They told OK! that Liz, 60, is also helping mend the 63-year-old singer's heartache, by gently encouraging him to fix his fractured relationships with his children, including singers Miley and Noah, after he 'pushed them all away'. 'Liz is the love of Billy Ray's life – that's what he calls her,' claimed the source. 'Her friends are saying she's never been happier and that she feels she can totally turn his life around. He's seen how close she is to her own son, Damian and she is helping him mend those sometimes difficult relationships with his daughter and the rest of the family. They add: "She's helping him reconnect with his family and mend those relationships. She knows how important it is, as she's very close with Damian and she wants the same for Billy Ray. They're stronger than ever – he's fallen for her in every possible way. She's hoping she will be the guiding light and bring out the best in him.' Achy Breaky Heart singer Billy Ray has described Liz as 'a great human being' and credited her with bringing joy back into his life. The couple have appeared together at several high-profile events, from the Orizzonti/Rosso exhibition in Rome to various fundraising galas in London. They sent shockwaves through the showbiz world when they went public in April, following one of the most difficult chapters in Billy Ray's life. The American singer had been dealing with the fallout from his split from second wife Tish – who he had been married to for 30 years in 2022. This was followed by his subsequent brief marriage to third wife Firerose, who he married in 2023 and divorced in 2024. There were rumours of tension, following his split from Tish, among his six children – Miley, Noah and Braison (who he had with Tish), Brandi and Trace (who he adopted during his marriage to their mother, Tish) and Christopher (who he had with former girlfriend Kristin Luckey). Trace, 36, posted an open letter to his dad on Instagram in January to say the family were 'genuinely worried' about him. He wrote, 'Since my earliest memories, all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. "Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognise now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it's become obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this but I really couldn't care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you've pushed all of us away.' While Miley didn't respond to her brother's statement, there were rumours she had fallen out with her dad too. However, since Billy Ray started dating Liz, the family appear to be coming back together. The pair headed out to support Miley at the premiere of her new film Something Beautiful in London last month. 'Billy Ray has been on the wrong track and was previously hitting the bottle and struggling,' said our source. 'Liz leads a super clean lifestyle – she's very fit, super into what she eats and keeping in top shape, and she's trying to help him in every area of his life, from his health to his family.' Billy Ray and Liz's friendship began when they filmed the 2022 festive flick Christmas In Paradise together. Billy Ray previously revealed that Liz had contacted him while he was experiencing difficulties in his personal life, which became the trigger for their romance. Appearing on Apple Music Country's The Ty Bentli Show , Billy Ray recalled, 'I felt like, 'Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?' For me, at a certain point, it was like, you can't get knocked down any flatter than lying on your back when life is kicking you. And in this moment a friend reached out.' Billy Ray said Liz's message said something like, 'Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I'm in your corner – you've got a friend in your corner.' Billy explained that he didn't have Liz's number saved in his mobile and was baffled by who was behind the message. 'So, I text back, 'Who is this?' And it's like, 'Elizabeth Hurley.' Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most – this friend who made me laugh.' Diego Luna begs for help as Tiffany Haddish hits on him during late-night interview: 'Get me out of this one!'
Diego Luna was completely unprepared for the intense, hilarious power of Tiffany Haddish's flirting skills during their Jimmy Kimmel Live interview Tuesday night. The Andor star, who is guest-hosting the late night show this week, found himself getting increasingly flustered as the actress made unshakeable attempts to woo him throughout their chat — to the point where he even urged its house band, Cleto and the Cletones, to end the segment for him. Haddish made her feelings toward Luna known from the get-go, cheekily (and falsely) claiming that he "asked me to be his baby mama" after he complimented her in Spanish. "Not exactly!" Luna interjected following her translation. "Sadly, I do speak both languages." "You don't want to be my novio [boyfriend]?" Haddish asked. Trying to be a gentleman, Luna quickly responded, "I'm not allowed… No, no, no, I'm not doing that. Thank you very much." The actor later asked Jimmy Kimmel's cohost, Guillermo, if they could set Haddish up on a date with someone they knew, but his well-intentioned plan backfired when she just used the opportunity to focus on their connection. "I heard you single now," she said, to which Luna replied, "No, I'm not. I'm not single at all. No." He added that he is in a "very important" relationship right now, much to Haddish's disappointment. "Oh, well, maybe it was a different dude," she said, "because when I googled your name it said you was divorced and single." Luna confirmed that he is divorced but said "the single part is what's not true." Turning to Guillermo for help, he asked, "But we know many Mexicans to hook her up with, no?" But Haddish squashed that. "I mean, I can find my own Mexican — don't worry about it," she said. "I can find my own." Luna attempted to reel Guillermo back into the conversation until she pointed out that the late night comedian is married. "I saw Guillermo on that boat butt naked, and I was like, 'Ooh, Guillermo!'" Haddish cheered. "But then I had googled him and he married, so I don't even wanna look at him no more. I don't look at married men." To further accentuate her point, Haddish raised a brow and stared at Luna for a prolonged period of time. Turning to the band, Luna begged, "Cleto! This is the moment where you play a song or something! You get me out of this one somehow!" He then tried to escape Haddish's flirting by telling her that his partner was somewhere in the audience. "I'm not gonna point at her because she's not gonna feel great to…" he began, before looking into the crowd and pleading, "Can someone play my partner here?!" Pointing at an audience member, Luna continued, "There you go! That is my partner." But that just gave Haddish more ammunition. "Why is there more than one woman saying they're your partner?!" she yelled, causing a blushing Luna to sheepishly rub the back of his neck. "I want to be part of this harem! I didn't know they had harems in Mexico!" "It's modern times, you know?" Luna cheekily fired back. "These open relations —" Wrong move. "Oh, you got open relations?" Haddish asked, putting Luna on the back foot once again. "No, no, no!" he exclaimed, putting a hand to his forehead. "That's not what I wanted to say! Sorry!" But he wasn't getting away that easily. "You said it, Diego!" she replied. Exasperated, Luna continued, "Oh my God! I so need, like, commercials or something!" But Haddish insisted that Luna had to stay in their interview no matter what. "I am gonna stay in it," he agreed, "and I'm very happy you're here." Haddish made one final attempt to steal Luna's heart by performing her very own rendition of the traditional Spanish folk song "De Colores." Luna praised her, uh, interesting take afterward. "Wow," he said, "that was beautiful." Watch Haddish try to make the moves on Luna in the clip above. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

In ‘Kill the Lax Bro,' Charlotte Lillie Balogh asks whodunit — and who let it happen
The aftershock of this betrayal was one of several personal heartbreaks that fueled Balogh's debut YA novel, is actor Chris Evans — Get Starting Point A guide through the most important stories of the morning, delivered Monday through Friday. Enter Email Sign Up 'Almost everything in this book really happened in some way,' Balogh tells the Globe. 'There were quite a few Easter eggs of my exes sprinkled throughout.' Advertisement The murder, she assures, is strictly fictional. The mystery is set in the fictional Massachusetts town of Hancock during the 1990s, where star lacrosse player Troy Richards is the target of four students' attempts to ruin his reputation. But when Troy winds up dead during Hancock High's Lock-In Night, Andrew, his former teammate/best friend; Stassi, his straight A ex-girlfriend; Naomi, the shy but observant freshman; and Tatum, the burnout with a secret grudge, must unravel the whodunit before the crime is pinned on them. Advertisement With and commentary on toxic sports culture, status quos, and self-discovery. While Troy is the doomed, titular 'lax bro,' the sometimes-negative impact of student athlete culture and toxic masculinity are Balogh's real targets. She had been a member of her high school's rowing team and later rowed for Syracuse University as an undergrad. As a student athlete, Balogh observed the different coaching approaches for girls vs. boys team sports firsthand. 'I know a coach who told me it's easier to coach boys because they're very competitive,' says Balogh, who coaches a youth team in Los Angeles, where she now resides. '[While], girls are not encouraged to be as ferocious so quickly in life.' She was especially inspired by 'New England life'; in particular, her high school alma mater's boy's lacrosse team — Troy and Andrew are amalgamations of the memories of her classmates and her own. While Balogh describes Andrew as 'the boy next door,' his increasingly volatile actions reveal his more vengeful underbelly. Troy, though (dead and) the antagonist, becomes more sympathetic as his backstory is uncovered. The intention was to 'flip archetypes. 'They both have their own ways in which they're perfect and idolized by their classmates. And it's like, which of them is better?' she says. 'Are either of them better?' Balogh also drew from 'cinematic perfection' that is 'John Tucker Must Die,' the early-2000s teen dramedy about a group of girls who, upon finding out they're dating the same guy, team up for revenge. Advertisement Spoiler: John Tucker does not die — it's more social sabotage than murder — but Balogh, a TV writer by trade, had wondered: But what if they actually killed him? 'Kill the Lax Bro' started as a 50-page TV pilot script in 2020, but eventually caught the eye of Balogh's literary agent, with whom she had previously worked on another manuscript. (That story — about a Boston high school rowing team, ahead of the Head of the Charles Regatta — will be the basis for her second novel, slated for fall 2026.) When the manuscript was put out on submission, an editor at Penguin found a video of a table read of 'She watched this video and was like, 'I want to buy that as a book instead,'" says Balogh. Charlotte Lillie Balogh will celebrate the release of 'Kill the Lax Bro' at the Natick Barnes & Noble, July 12, 6 p.m. 1324 Worcester St., Natick. Marianna Orozco can be reached at
