Shattered widow of Universal Store CEO who was allegedly stabbed to death by a 15-year-old boy is comforted by loved ones as she pays her final respects at funeral
Family and friends on Monday gathered at St Agatha's Catholic Church in Brisbane to farewell Greg Josephson, who established Australian fashion retailer Universal Store.
The packed funeral service was held in the upmarket inner-city Brisbane suburb of Clayfield close to the house where Mr Josephson was found dead in late June.
Police discovered his body in the home amid a party involving about 30 young people.
A 15-year-old boy known to Mr Josephson was charged with murder.
There were emotional scenes on Monday as loved ones remembered Mr Josephson before the service concluded with wife Tamra cutting a sombre figure.
The service was presided over by Father Anthony Mellor, with Mr Josephson's relatives Michael, Andrew, Martin and John Josephson as pallbearers, an online mass booklet said.
In prayers of the faithful, relative Katie Josephson said the family had deep gratitude for Mr Josephson's blessed life and his presence in their lives was a 'sacred gift'.
'He lived his life as an embodiment of love,' the mass booklet read.
'While his physical form may have now changed, may his divine spirit live on through all life.'
Mr Josephson was found dead after police were called to the home after 8pm on June 26.
The alleged killer was located on a nearby street with an injury, police said.
The 15-year-old boy was taken into custody and later charged with one count of domestic violence-related murder and refused police bail.
He was remanded in custody after his case was called in a children's court on June 27, when it was adjourned until September 2.
Mr Josephson founded Universal Store with his brother Michael in 1999.
The national apparel retailer was acquired by a group of private equity investors in 2018 for a reported $100 million and two years later the business went public on the ASX.
The company is valued at about $570 million.

BREAKING NEWS Horrific twist after baby is found dead in a park lake in Queensland
A police investigation into the tragic drowning of a seven-month-old baby boy at a popular camping spot has been rocked by allegations that he was thrown into the water. Emergency responders raced to the scene at Chatsworth Park near Gympie, Queensland at about 10.30am on Saturday following multiple triple-0 calls about a baby found unresponsive in a nearby lake. The boy's mother made the grim discovery and pulled him out of the water, which was just 40 metres from the campsite. She and fellow holidaymakers performed CPR on the baby, who was rushed to Gympie Hospital, where he later died. The baby and his parents had camped overnight at the park on their way home in North Queensland. Police investigating the circumstances of the baby's 'unexplained' death have urged anyone who was at the lake an hour before and after the tragedy to come forward. The public appeal sparked several posts on the Queensland Police Facebook page claiming alleged witnesses saw the baby thrown into the water by a man. Police responded to the posts by urging the posters to contact Policelink. No arrests or charges have been laid. A section of the campsite remained cordoned off as a crime scene on Monday. Officers from the Child Trauma Unit and the Homicide Investigation Team are assisting with the investigation. A post-mortem was carried out on Monday morning. 'We're treating it as unexplained, that's probably the best term I can use at this point in time,' Wide Bay Detective Inspector Craig Mansfield told reporters. 'We're trying to work out the mechanisms of how that occurred. 'We have part of the picture, we just want to complete that full picture before we decide on where that investigation leads us.' Chatsworth Park is a popular free camping and stopover spot off the Bruce Highway. It's also a common spot for the homeless, police confirmed. 'We have information that other vehicles were parked up in the rest stop area,' Insp Mansfield said. 'They either left just prior or during - we just don't know until we speak to them. 'There were a couple of vehicles that left the scene who may or may not have seen or heard anything, but we just need to track them down in case they did.' No arrests or charges have been laid.

Ex-nurse who paid patient $3,000 to have her ex boyfriend's 'd*** cut off' after breakup is banned from practicing for just FOUR years
A nurse who paid a patient $3,000 to cut her ex-lover's penis and tongue off and burn his face with acid will be allowed to treat patients in four years time. The decision by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal was published last week after it was handed down to Karenjeet Kaur Warburton in March. Tribunal member Julie Dick heard Warburton had approached a patient she thought 'might be up for' severely injuring her former partner, senior Queensland Police Inspector Don McKay. Warburton had dated Insp McKay between March 2020 and early 2021. She gave the patient, Andrew Bown, photos of the inspector and his home between April 1 and October 6, 2021, and handed over $3,000 for the proposed hit. 'She had paid a significant amount and offered an even more significant amount to the proposed assailant,' Ms Dick wrote in the tribunal decision. 'Warburton instructed a law enforcement participant to have Insp McKay's 'penis and tongue cut off, his face burnt with acid, his spine to be severed with a knife for the purpose of causing paralysis, or to break every bone in his body so that he could no longer walk or talk'. Ms Dick noted that Warburton's efforts only ceased when she was arrested. Patient Andrew Bown (pictured) was sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars for his role in the plot to severely injure the Queensland inspector She pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to procure grievous bodily harm and one count of attempting to procure a malicious act with intent and was sentenced to five years behind bars, to be suspended after 16 months. When facing the health tribunal, the former nurse did not contest claims that she had committed professional misconduct by asking a patient to carry out her dirty work. The tribunal banned Warburton from working in healthcare for four years, which included time she had already served behind bars. 'It is unfortunate that this serious behaviour has led to the respondent being in the difficult circumstances in which she now finds herself,' Ms Dick wrote in her ruling. 'The tribunal is aware she will have to reapply for registration. 'Upon doing so, she will be confronted with having no recency of practice and there will be other steps that she might have to take.' Bown was charged with committing arson, attempting to procure a person to do grievous bodily harm on another person and possessing a dangerous item to assist another person in committing a crime. He was sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars for his part in the plot by Cairns District Court in November 2022.
