Chemsdine Talbi joins Sunderland from Club Brugge on five-year contract
Talbi arrived on Wearside on Tuesday and has completed a medical to join fellow new additions Enzo Le Fee, Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki as Regis Le Bris prepares for life back in the top flight.
He said: 'I'm really excited to be here and grateful for the opportunity to play for this club.
'I made the decision because it's a great project with a talented, exciting team full of young players – and that really motivated me.

Talbi made 38 appearances for Brugge last season, 11 of them in the Champions League, as the club finished second by a point behind Royale Union Saint-Gilloise – Sadiki's former side – in the Jupiler League.
Two of his seven goals for the campaign came in a 3-1 play-off victory at Atalanta in Europe on the way to a 6-1 aggregate defeat by Aston Villa in the last 16.
Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman added: 'Our momentum and story are powerful, and I think players of Chemsdine's calibre, who are in high demand, are excited by the prospect of playing for Sunderland AFC.
'It's a testament to our recent past and immediate future that he feels this we are the right club for his next step.'

As things stand Brendan Rodgers has every right to make demands of his board. CRAIG: The start of the season and the end of the transfer window are two different places. The squad will be stronger by August 31. But it's not fully equipped yet and getting through the Champions League qualifier is vital. GRAEME: The mood music over transfers has been brooding but the product on the pitch has been harmonious bar the gaffe-filled second half against Ajax. Benjamin Nygren appears capable of a Matt O'Riley impact. If they get their marquee signs right then all will be well. MICHAEL: With a strong squad in a lot of places and gaps in others. Brendan Rodgers knows he's short of attackers but there's time to fill in the blanks. Can Hearts make a genuine push to split the Old Firm under Derek McInnes? KEITH: That's precisely what Derek McInnes will be hoping to achieve. With Rangers going through another summer of transition and Celtic slow off the blocks in the market he'll believe there is an opportunity for Hearts to lay down a meaningful early marker. With no European football to distract them and Tony Bloom's financial muscle, why can't they get involved in the argument? CRAIG: They can make a push towards it, but it's a tall order for the new manager to actually do it in his first season at the club. It's a building job. Derek McInnes should be afforded patience on that front. GRAEME: It will be tough. Odds of 16/1 for title glory appear bookie bait but Hearts boast a criminally underrated manager who is embracing a brave new dawn. The computer says yes in the coming years but finishing third has to be the main target. MICHAEL: Hearts should be ambitious but it's tough to take on the big two. It the Jambos finish third it's a good achievement. Who is best equipped to make a splash in the Premiership of the promoted sides, Falkirk or Livingston? KEITH: Falkirk have been catching the eye for some time on their journey up through the leagues. Fingers crossed they'll be a breath of fresh air now they're finally back in the top flight. CRAIG: Tough call. John McGlynn has a vibrant young team and David Martindale is a maestro at Livi. Perhaps both can, but it's going to be some scrap again at the bottom. GRAEME: Falkirk, John McGlynn has the air of an accidental hero about him but there's nothing lucky about his success with the Bairns. Their willingness to play their own daring way will once again yield results. MICHAEL: Livingston will be back like they were never away and as tough as ever, especially at home. Falkirk will surprise a few teams and don't bet against them staying up.

Arsenal met Newcastle in Asia on Sunday and the feelings at the two clubs couldn't be more different right now, with post-match comments from Mikel Arteta and Eddie Howe speaking volumes on both situations Just a few months ago, Newcastle United were flying. They had dumped Arsenal out of a League Cup semi-final, mocked them on the way to lifting their first domestic trophy in 70 years, and sealed a dream return to the Champions League. Arsenal, meanwhile, were left empty-handed after a promising season faded. Fast forward to this summer in Singapore and the momentum has shifted dramatically. As Arsenal paraded new £63m striker Viktor Gyokeres before kick-off, Newcastle were digesting the growing prospect of losing their star frontman Alexander Isak. On the pitch, Mikel Arteta's side beat the Magpies 3-2, but it was the scenes off the pitch that best captured the changing fortunes of the two clubs. Arteta now has six summer signings through the door, and he isn't done yet. Crystal Palace 's Eberechi Eze is next on the list as Arsenal look to build a squad capable of finally getting over the line. "We do have plans, we do have a lot of options and we are increasing the quality and depth of the squad with all the signings we've done," said Arteta. "We are super happy to have Victor with us. It's been a long journey to get him over here. You can see the boys and the environment, very excited with his arrival." Arsenal showed their new strength in depth in the win over Newcastle. While Arsenal look ready to challenge on all fronts, Newcastle appear to be regressing and Eddie Howe knows it. "No, nothing's changed with his situation," Howe said when asked about Isak. "Naturally I think we're going to miss a player of Alex's quality and the group are going to feel that. There's no denying that." With no new striker lined up yet, Howe finished the game juggling game time for young, inexperienced forwards William Osula and Sean Nieve. It was a situation that underlines their current predicament. "Yeah, of course we're not deluded. We know that we need to bring players in. We've known that for a long time. It's been a challenging transfer window. Let's see what we can do towards the end of it." Asked if Isak might join the team in South Korea for the next leg of the Asia tour, Howe was blunt: "No. No chance." And on watching Arsenal spend big while Newcastle struggle to land their targets, Howe was diplomatic but honest: "From my perspective, you can never judge yourselves against other clubs. They will do what they have to do. We've got to try and do what we have to do." And Howe will have been irritated at best when he left the Singapore National Stadium to learn his latest transfer target, Brentford's Yoane Wissa is having his dream move to St James' potentially derailed. The Bees want a premium price as they are reluctant to lose another key player having already sold Christian Norgaard and Bryan Mbeumo. Wissa is reportedly threatening not to play if he is made to stay in west London. At the end of May, Newcastle looked like the team on the rise and Arsenal were working out how to take the final steps to silverware. Now, it is Arteta who is smiling and Howe left hoping the next few weeks do not define a season before it even begins. Speaking after Sunday's 3-2 loss to Newcastle in Singapore, Howe was asked whether the club's star striker would be heading out to join them and replied: 'No, no chance,' indicating that a parting of the ways could indeed be on the cards. Mega deal agreed Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Luis Diaz. The Colombia winger, 28, has been linked with a move overseas in recent weeks and also had interest from Barcelona. It has also been noted that Diaz is keen on the idea of moving clubs this summer, though Liverpool were reluctant to sell. Fofana in Everton talks Liverpool-linked Malick Fofana is now in talks to join Everton from Lyon this summer. The Reds and other of the Premier League's top clubs have been credited with an interest the uber talented winger, who has scored 15 goals in 62 games for Lyon. The Athletic have confirmed that Everton and Lyon are in talks over a package for the 20-year-old with the Toffees also in contact with the player's camp to try and reach an agreement for a transfer.
