The Trade Desk offers free access to OpenSincera for insights on ad quality

Campaign ME15-05-2025
Global advertising technology company The Trade Desk has provided free and open access to OpenSincera, a new application that provides the ad tech ecosystem with rich advertising metadata to reveal deeper insights on advertising quality and health of the digital advertising supply chain.
Accessible to all participants across the entire advertising industry, OpenSincera will provide metrics on the ad experience such as ads-to-content ratio, page weight, average ads-in-view, and ad refresh rate.
Jeff Green, Founder and CEO, The Trade Desk, said, 'Sincera has arguably the industry's richest, most unique data on digital advertising supply chains. We are embedding the full scope of that data across our Kokai platform so our clients can have as much information as possible on what they are bidding on.'
Green added, 'With OpenSincera, we are opening much of this data to anyone in the industry that has an interest in improving the health of digital advertising, including our competitors. This is just the latest example of The Trade Desk offering a service to the industry that can help the industry build transparency, trust and growth that raises all boats and improve the open internet.'
Agencies could use it to maintain and update blocklists, while publishers might understand how their own sites appear from the buy-side perspective. The OpenSincera API should also be useful for custom bidding algorithms startups, SSPs, DMPs and other DSPs.
The Trade Desk acquired Sincera earlier this year. In launching OpenSincera, The Trade Desk is extending the access of Sincera digital advertising data, making it more widely available to the industry than ever before.
In addition, OpenSincera will launch alongside a new, first-of-its-kind API, a service that will enable ad-tech companies to build services based on the data easily and intuitively.
Mike O'Sullivan, GM, Product, The Trade Desk., said, 'Making OpenSincera available to everyone was critical for us to help improve the health of the advertising supply chain.'
'We're opening the door for everyone who wants to make advertising more transparent and efficient. The more data we can put into the hands of everyone in the advertising ecosystem the better it is for everyone and the open internet.'

Zimbabwe: New irrigation plots expand climate-smart farming in Chisumbanje

More than 220 newly irrigated plots have been handed over to smallholder farmers in Chisumbanje, Zimbabwe, as part of an ongoing land and water development initiative aimed at increasing climate resilience and improving rural livelihoods. The project, led by bioethanol producer Green Fuel, has seen the development of 1,300 hectares of irrigated land to date, benefiting over 2,300 families. Farmers are now able to grow food and cash crops year-round, even during periods of extreme drought, thanks to drip irrigation systems, soil conservation practices, and reliable water infrastructure. Each of the newly allocated 0.5-hectare plots comes with access to irrigation, technical support, and inputs such as fertiliser and seed. The programme forms part of a broader goal to allocate 10% of all sugarcane development land to smallholder production. Sugarcane, staples and horticulture Of the irrigated land, 700 hectares are under sugarcane for biofuel production, while the remaining hectares are used for staple crops like maize and beans, as well as horticultural produce aimed at improving food security and household income. Drip irrigation systems, installed in collaboration with global irrigation firm Netafim, have led to an increase in maize yields from 1.5 to 2.5 tonnes per plot, with an additional 182 hectares earmarked for expansion. No-cost water access for smallholders The irrigation water is pumped and maintained at no cost to the farmers. In addition, Green Fuel has restored over 1,700 hectares of irrigation schemes in surrounding areas, including Middle Sabi and Mutandahwe, benefiting more than 2,300 farmers. Upgrades have included rehabilitating canals, installing new boreholes, and reconstructing pumping systems, with a dedicated water engineering team overseeing ongoing maintenance. Commercial diversification taking root Some farmers have begun cultivating bananas under contract for export markets, demonstrating the potential for diversification and commercial growth. The programme is underpinned by the WaterWise farming approach, promoting sustainable water use, soil management, and long-term infrastructure maintenance to adapt to the region's challenging climate. Algeria to build two green cement plants

Algeria has launched a project to build two new low-carbon green cement plants with a combined capacity of 3.5 million tonnes per year as part of a drive to expand eco-friendly industries in construction and other sectors. The North African OPEC producer is also expanding an existing cement plant in the Northern Djelfa city by around 1.5 million tonnes of green cement. The new projects will boost the gas-rich country's cement capacity to a record high of around 42 million tonnes per year. Algeria's press reported on Monday that the country's actual cement demand is around 30 million tonnes per year, allowing it to export a surplus of nearly 12 million tonnes. Algerian Minister of Industry Sifi Ghrieb announced on Monday the launching of the two new green cement projects in Djelfa and Relizane in Central Algeria. He said the two plants have an output capacity of around 1.5 million and two million tonnes per year respectively while another nearby cement plant would be expanded by a green cement production line with a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes. 'The Minister also announced plans to create a national green cement production council to promote such industries,' Elkhabar and other local newspapers said. Ghrieb did not mention details of these projects nor did he identify the contractor but in March he had discussed plans to expand Djelfa plant with a delegation from the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC). Algeria, one of the world's largest gas exporters, is actively involved in the production and promotion of green cement, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional cement, with a focus on reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable construction. Companies like Lafarge Algeria are leading the way in this transition, developing reduced-CO2 cement and investing in projects that utilise industrial byproducts for cement production. A new green cement plant, a partnership between Algerian, Emirati, and Indian entities, is under construction in the Northern El Milia city, according to local reports. The plant will utilise slag and fly ash from a nearby power station and steel complex, and it will have a capacity of two million tonnes per year. (Writing by Nadim Kawach; Editing by Anoop Menon)
