Following their match-winning second innings partnership in Barbados, Carey and Webster's sixth-wicket stand of 112 once again frustrated the Caribbean bowlers' attempts to swiftly dismiss the visitors.
Carey's aggressive innings of 63 from 81 deliveries included ten fours and one six, whilst Webster's patient 60 off 115 balls, featuring six fours and one six, provided stability after Australia's early struggles at 110 for five, having chosen to bat first.

Webster's innings ended through a run out whilst attempting an improbable second run, one of his rare misjudgements throughout his stay at the crease.
"It was pretty simple really: keeping the straight balls out and trying to score when it was a bit wider or too straight," Webster explained post-play.

"The wicket offered a little bit again so it was a really good effort to get the total we did."
Webster commended Carey's aggressive approach against the West Indies attack. "This series he has been fantastic and it's been a pleasure to be up at the other end," he noted. "We would have loved to get 300-plus and I'm a little bit to blame for not getting us there, but we have a really good bowling attack that bowls with lots of runs on the board and sometimes with not many to defend.
We back them 100 percent on this sort of surface.
"
Alzarri Joseph
claimed four for 61, whilst Jayden Seales took two for 45 in a pace-dominated attack, with Anderson Phillip replacing spinner Jomel Warrican.
Joseph's improved performance included the crucial wickets of Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith during a morning session where Australia lost three wickets for three runs. Phillip, returning after 18 months, dismissed Sam Konstas.
Smith, back from a finger injury sustained at Lord's three weeks earlier, fell to Joseph's bowling, caught by Phillip near the long-leg boundary. Cameron Green's dismissal for 26 by Seales, caught by Roston Chase at gully, preceded the crucial Carey-Webster partnership.

Tyreek Hill accused of using intimidation tactics in messy divorce battle with estranged wife Keeta Vaccaro

Tyreek Hill dragged into controversy as Keeta Vaccaro accuses him of manipulation during ugly divorce (Getty Images) The divorce between Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill and Keeta Vaccaro has turned into a bitter courtroom feud that's now being publicly aired in documents and legal filings, with accusations flying from both sides. What began as a private split is rapidly becoming a high-profile legal spectacle, revealing not only strained personal dynamics but also an increasingly contentious battle over control, reputation, and custody. Keeta Vaccaro calls out Tyreek Hill 's alleged 'silencing tactics' in explosive twist to divorce proceedings Vaccaro's legal team is pushing back hard against Hill's recent motion for a gag order, labeling it a veiled attempt to silence her in court. The motion, originally filed by Hill's lawyers on June 23, requested a Miami judge to bar Vaccaro from making statements in legal documents that could harm Hill's public image. But Vaccaro's attorneys argue that the move reeks of intimidation and hypocrisy. 'In terms of purpose, the Husband's motion is a clear attempt to silence and intimidate wife's counsel and control the representation that she receives in this litigation,' they stated in the response, which was first obtained by Daily Mail. They also pointed out, 'He wants to silence the wife's lawyers while his own pleadings disparage and denigrate the wife. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo ' Tyreek Hill & Keeta Vaccaro Divorce: Toxic Breakups | Humble Baddies The irony of Hill's complaint wasn't lost on Vaccaro's lawyers, who referenced what they called 'The Goose-Gander Rule,' pointing to what they see as double standards. They argue that while Hill wants to censor Vaccaro's legal commentary, he himself has made damaging allegations. In one such filing, Hill accused Vaccaro of stealing from him and fraudulently accessing his financial accounts to benefit herself and her mother. 'Three days before he filed his motion to enjoin, he filed a pleading in which he alleged… that the wife 'has a history of stealing,'' her lawyers noted, citing a headline that subsequently ran in media reports. Hill's attorneys, Michael Gottlieb and Christi Bright, claim the gag order is necessary to prevent further reputational damage, suggesting that the NFL player is a public figure under greater scrutiny. Vaccaro's response firmly counters that argument, claiming Hill simply doesn't want to 'look bad.' Beyond the battle over speech, the divorce has sparked disputes over finances and custody. Vaccaro, who shares an 8-month-old daughter named Capri with Hill, alleged that he has failed to pay temporary spousal or child support. She also accused him of withholding access to their shared home and a vehicle, denying her financial stability in the process. 'The motion is another example of the Husband's pattern of coercive control,' the response claimed. Tensions escalated further following a domestic dispute at the couple's Miami apartment in April — the same month Vaccaro filed for divorce, citing the marriage as 'irretrievably broken.' Police reports revealed that Hill had thrown a laptop and walked toward a balcony with their daughter. Though no arrests were made, officers noticed a bruise on Vaccaro's chest. In an emergency filing, Vaccaro claimed Hill disappeared for two nights following the incident and later took their daughter without her consent. She is now seeking exclusive use of the home and supervised visitation for Hill. The couple had married in November 2023 during the Dolphins' bye week, after being engaged for over two years. This unraveling, however, has exposed a much deeper breakdown than what the public had previously known, with both sides now prepared for a long legal confrontation. "This is the beginning of him...": Shubman Gill's childhood coach on his heroic 200 against England

Mohali (Punjab) [India], July 4 (ANI): Sukhwinder Tinkku, childhood coach of Indian test skipper Shubman Gill, praised him for his superb double hundred in the second test against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. He said Gill's performance was not a surprise for him and felt this is just the beginning of him; he will make more records. While speaking to ANI Sukhwinder Tinkku said, 'Shubman Gill's performance is not a surprise for me. I have been watching him since childhood, and the improvement he shows in the game, and the way his mind works in the game. This is the beginning of him; he will make more records... I saw this potential in him that he will become a big player.' The Cricket fraternity was left enchanted by India Test captain Gill's sizzling double hundred on Day 2 of the second Test against England in Birmingham. After returning unbeaten on 114 after the end of the opening day's play, Gill continued to thrive on Edgbaston's benign surface with flamboyant strokeplay to torment England's bowling unit, bereft of its decorated quicks James Anderson and Stuart Broad. By pulling the ball away for a single off Josh Tongue, Gill animatedly celebrated his maiden double century. Gill became the first-ever Indian captain to reach the double ton against England in England, surpassing former skipper Mohammad Azharuddin's 179-run effort at Old Trafford in 1990. The 25-year-old strokeplayer also became the first Asian captain with a double century in South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia (SENA), the previous best score being 193 by Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan at Lord's in 2011. With a flurry of boundaries after the milestone, he leapfrogged past legendary Sunil Gavaskar's 221 at The Oval in 1979 to have the highest-ever individual score by an Indian in England. He is only the sixth Indian to score a 250-plus score in Tests, joining the elite company of Virender Sehwag, who did it four times, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, Karun Nair and Virat Kohli. Gill is the first Indian to do so outside of the Indian subcontinent; the previous best was Sachin's masterclass of 241* against Australia at Sydney in 2004. He joined Rahul Dravid (217 at The Oval in 2002) and Sunil Gavaskar (221 at The Oval in 1979) to become the third player to score a double ton for India in England against England in Tests. Gill also surpassed Kohli's 254* against South Africa in 2019 to have the highest score ever by an Indian captain. Gill also became the third Indian captain with a 150-plus Test score before turning 26, after Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (twice) and Sachin Tendulkar. (ANI)
