Incubus eye October release for new album Something in the Water
Frontman Brandon Boyd has revealed the rock band are hoping to drop the follow-up to 2017's 8 in three months' time - and hinted they have much more music in them yet.
The band felt re-energised after recruiting bassist and singer, Nicole Row, who toured with Miley Cyrus in 2017 and Panic! at the Disco between 2018 and 2023.
He told People: "I definitely feel like it is a new era for us.
"For a number of reasons. Revisiting Morning View at the Hollywood Bowl initially was a terrifying challenge. We had never done it before. We played the bowl a handful of times, and it's always an amazing experience. It's kind of like our home game, so to speak."
He continued: "But then we did the show... and it was like, 'Oh, we did it.' That was going to be really hard. And it ended up being really fun, and it went by really fast."
Brandon explained: "Between the Morning View experience and Nicole, that was sort of the kickstart. It was sort of the end of the pandemic era, into now, it feels like our windshield got polished, and all of a sudden, it was like, oh, we have so much here.
"There's so much kind of in our history and our sort of burgeoning legacy, if you will. But there's also so much music in us that still has yet to see the light of day, and this is still so much fun."
The Drive rockers still have a "blast" together, even though the 49-year-old star admits, naturally, there are "scarier, darker parts of life that come creeping in".
He went on: "It's mostly fun still, even despite the scarier, darker parts of life that come creeping in no matter who you are, this thing that we do together is still a blast."
Teasing their next album, he said: "This new record, Something in the Water, we're going to call it. I don't know when it's going to come out, but we were thinking about putting out the whole record in October."
In April, projections featuring the album's title were shared along the River Thames and onto the band's Instagram account, showing footage from locations including the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London.
Fans walking to their O2 gig from nearby North Greenwich station passed giant posters stuck to the ground featuring a QR code which, when scanned, took them to a pre-order link for the record.

The Creek Will Rise singer ended his statement with a reference to Biblical scripture Psalm 91. He wrote: "I'm thankful to serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted, and I have leaned on Him every step of the way. Through tragedy, I have learned that God is more faithful than I could have ever known before.' A source recently noted the misdemeanour charge, rather than a felony, underscored a lack of criminal intent and said Conner is "encouraged" by the improvements Nashville authorities have made at the scene of the accident, including removing a tree that obstructed the view of the crosswalk, marking the area more clearly, and adding multiple signs. The insider also told People magazine the Creek Will Rise hitmaker "respects" the local community's support for Dorothy and her family, and the ongoing push for safety improvements. Following the accident, which happened on the last night of the four-day CMA Fest, police confirmed Conner showed "no signs of impairment" but the preliminary contributing factor to the fatal accident was the I Hate Alabama singer's failure to give the pedestrian the right of way.

Blake Lively slams Justin Baldoni's legal team
Blake Lively has slammed Justin Baldoni's legal team for trying to turn their legal battle into a "public spectacle". The former Gossip Girl star is suing her It Ends With Us co-star and director for sexual harassment and retaliation and she's now filed a motion requesting the judge agrees to a protective order which would see her sit for her deposition on 17 July at a redacted location, with everyone attending to be identified in advance. The movie came after a lawyer for Justin - whose counterclaims against Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds for extortion and defamation were dismissed last month - previously said he wanted the deposition to be taken in public for people to see. Attorney Bryan Freedman told People magazine in May: 'Hold the deposition at MSG, sell tickets or stream it, and donate every dollar to organizations helping victims of domestic abuse." Following the court filing, Blake's representatives hit out at the 41-year-old actor's team. They told People magazine: 'Ms. Lively is looking forward to her deposition next week, and it should follow the same rules as every other witness in this case.' 'Justin Baldoni's lawyer has tried to make this matter a public spectacle at every turn, even proposing to sell tickets to a televised deposition at Madison Square Garden,. "This is a serious matter of sexual harassment and retaliation and it deserves to be treated as such.' The new filing revealed Blake, 37, asked the judge to block Justin and his team from selecting where the deposition takes place. Her lawyers wrote: "[Baldoni's team have] not denied that their intent is to manufacture a harassing publicity stunt by requiring Ms. Lively to parade through paparazzi, or by inviting unknown attendees to the deposition, including members of the media or social media influencers, or any other number of abusive tactics. 'Since virtually the inception of this litigation, Defendants have used even the prospect of Ms. Lively's deposition to generate press interest. 'The high-profile nature of this litigation, and the nature of Ms. Lively's retaliation claims, demonstrates a substantial risk of the deposition turning into a publicity event and potentially attracting interested individuals who could pose security risks." The Another Simple Favor star's lawyers insisted the filing was a "reasonable request to prevent the risk of annoyance, harassment, and verbal or physical threats," and alleged Justin's team 'appear to seek another public relations moment, or to create conditions for intimidation or harassment.' A trial is set to take place in March 2026.
