Incubus eye October release for new album Something in the Water

Incubus may release their new album, Something in the Water, in October. Frontman Brandon Boyd has revealed the rock band are hoping to drop the follow-up to 2017's 8 in three months' time - and hinted they have much more music in them yet. The band felt re-energised after recruiting bassist and singer, Nicole Row, who toured with Miley Cyrus in 2017 and Panic! at the Disco between 2018 and 2023. He told People: "I definitely feel like it is a new era for us. "For a number of reasons. Revisiting Morning View at the Hollywood Bowl initially was a terrifying challenge. We had never done it before. We played the bowl a handful of times, and it's always an amazing experience. It's kind of like our home game, so to speak." He continued: "But then we did the show... and it was like, 'Oh, we did it.' That was going to be really hard. And it ended up being really fun, and it went by really fast." Brandon explained: "Between the Morning View experience and Nicole, that was sort of the kickstart. It was sort of the end of the pandemic era, into now, it feels like our windshield got polished, and all of a sudden, it was like, oh, we have so much here. "There's so much kind of in our history and our sort of burgeoning legacy, if you will. But there's also so much music in us that still has yet to see the light of day, and this is still so much fun." The Drive rockers still have a "blast" together, even though the 49-year-old star admits, naturally, there are "scarier, darker parts of life that come creeping in". He went on: "It's mostly fun still, even despite the scarier, darker parts of life that come creeping in no matter who you are, this thing that we do together is still a blast." Teasing their next album, he said: "This new record, Something in the Water, we're going to call it. I don't know when it's going to come out, but we were thinking about putting out the whole record in October." In April, projections featuring the album's title were shared along the River Thames and onto the band's Instagram account, showing footage from locations including the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London. Fans walking to their O2 gig from nearby North Greenwich station passed giant posters stuck to the ground featuring a QR code which, when scanned, took them to a pre-order link for the record.

Paris Jackson Slams Michael Jackson Fans Over These Critiques Ahead Of Anniversary Of Her Father's Death

Michael Jackson's only daughter, Paris Jackson, is firing back at fans who slammed her for scheduling a performance on the anniversary of her father's death. Paris posted a video message to her Instagram story and told people that she didn't have any control of the schedule. 'One of the tour dates I'm supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family,' Paris said, according to Deadline. 'When you're first of three, and you're not headlining these shows, you don't pick what date you perform or what time you go on stage to perform, or what city you perform in.' Paris also said she doesn't get any special treatment as the additional opening act. 'First of three also doesn't get a tour bus,' she said. 'You get maybe a sprinter van, which I've done before when I've got a band with me. But I'm not going to have my band with me this time.' Paris said she will only have her acoustic guitar and fiancé Justin Long, who happens to be her sound guy. 'So we're gonna be in a soccer mum van,' she said. 'This feels like [Incubus is] doing me a favour by bringing me out on tour. So [what], I'm gonna tell 'em, 'Sorry, guys, we can't perform on this date?'' Paris closed her message with a 'F**k you.' At 50, Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, from cardiac arrest, leaving behind three children, Prince, Paris and Bigi (formerly known as Blanket). In 2021, Paris joined supermodel Naomi Campbell for her No Filter with Naomi series via YouTube. 'My dad was really good about making sure we were cultured, making sure we were educated, and not just showing us like the glitz and glam, like hotel hopping, five-star places,' Paris said about being raised by the King of Pop. 'It was also like, we saw everything,' she added. 'We saw third world countries. We saw every part of the spectrum.'The post Paris Jackson Slams Michael Jackson Fans Over These Critiques Ahead Of Anniversary Of Her Father's Death appeared first on Blavity.

Paris, 27, defended her decision to perform on the anniversary of her father's death through Instagram. She posted a video on her Instagram Stories, which is no longer available on her profile. However, it has been widely shared across social media platforms. 'So people are mad again. This time, I think, I guess one of the tour dates I'm supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family,' Paris said in the video. Paris, whom the late Thriller singer shared with ex-wife Debbie Rowe, along with 28-year-old Prince Jackson, went on to explain why she would be performing on June 25. She added, 'So, what I guess I have to explain to these people is that not headlining these shows, you don't pick what date you perform or what time you go on stage to perform, or what city you perform in:. She argued that people have a glamorised perception of life on tour, not realising the reality behind it. Sharing the reality of the concerts, Paris shared, 'First of three also doesn't get a tour bus. You get maybe a sprinter van, which I've done before when I've got a band with me. But I'm not going to have my band with me this time. It's just me and my acoustic guitar and my sound guy, who happens to be my fiancé (musician Justin Long). So we're gonna be in a soccer mom van." 'This feels like (Incubus is) doing me a favour by bringing me out on tour. So (what), I'm gonna tell 'em, 'Sorry, guys, we can't perform on this date?' added Paris Jackson in her video. The Hit Your Knees singer ended her message saying, 'F**k you'. Paris is scheduled to perform in Nashville on June 25, 16 years since Michael Jackson died at the age of 50. This is not the first time Paris has had to defend how she honours her late father following his 2009 death. In August 2023, she explained why she chose not to commemorate what would have been his 65th birthday on Instagram. 'Today is my dad's birthday and back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday,' she said in a video at the time, adding, 'He actually didn't want us to even know when his birthday was because he didn't want us to throw a party or anything like that'. She slammed people who criticised her choice for not wishing her father.
