The neglected youngster, from northern Thailand, could only communicate through barks after being abandoned by his drug-addicted

and kept out of school.

Thai authorities found the boy during a raid on a run-down stilt house in the province of Uttaradit this week
They discovered the child living with his mother and 23-year-old brother who were both riddled with drugs, tests showed.
Police visited the hut after the principle of the local school contacted a children's activist, Paveena Hongsakul, who escalated the case.
Paveena said: 'He didn't speak, he just barked. It was pitiful to see."

The boy had never been to school properly.
However, his mum did take him in once to scoop up the government support
money
supposed to be spent on his education,
Paveena said: 'His mother hasn't allowed him to go to school since he received a subsidy for free education.
"After getting the money, she simply kept him at home."

Neighbours
said the 46-year-old mum would beg for money and food at the temple in the local village.
The surrounding families reportedly got fed up with the mum's reckless behaviour and banned their kids from interacting with the boy.

This left him with only the family's six
dogs
to socialise with.
Starved of meaningful human contact, he began mimicking the dog's behaviour - and even adopted their barks to communicate.
The urgent social visit on June 30 was a joint operation between Lap Lae police officers and Education Ministry officials.
After the adults failed urine tests, they were charged with drug consumption.
A local teacher said: 'The house is in a red zone for drugs. The boy had no one, just the dogs to play with."
The helpless child was placed into car at the Uttaradit's Children's Home.
Paveena is monitoring the boy's case to ensure he receives adequate care.
She said: 'The boy will be given a chance at a good life.
"We'll follow up with him to make sure he gets everything he needs."

Gangsters who forced migrants to work in cannabis farms jailed for 80 years

Workers were forced to live in squalid conditions with threats made to their lives and those of their families should they fail to comply with the conspirators demands Eight members of a ruthless crime gang who forced trafficked migrants to work in cannabis farms have been jailed for a total of 80 years in the UK. The organised crime gangs that produced drugs on 'an industrial scale' exploited vulnerable migrants who had been smuggled or trafficked into the UK for the sole purpose of being put to work. Workers were forced to live in squalid conditions with threats made to their lives and those of their families should they fail to comply with the conspirators demands. Two separate National Crime Agency (NCA) investigations into the activities of the organised whose ringleaders were both based in Birmingham, revealed how they ran farms across the Midlands, London and north of England. The first gang was dismantled following an NCA investigation into the activities of convicted people smuggler Mai Van Nguyen (35) of Beetham Tower, Birmingham. He led a criminal network involving fellow Vietnamese nationals Doung Dinh (38) from Birmingham, and Nghia Dinh Tran (24) from Lewisham, London, who exploited migrants by putting them to work. Mai Van Nguyen, Duong Dinh, Nghĩa Dinh Tran, Shamraiz Akhtar, Tasawar Hussain, Amjad Nawaz (Image: NCA) Today's News in 90 Seconds - July 4th A trial at Birmingham Crown Court in January and February heard how taxi drivers Shamraiz Akhtar and Tasawar Hussain, both 50 and from Birmingham, were paid hundreds of pounds for moving migrants around various properties for the gang, They would also transport cannabis or equipment for the farms. A sixth member of the gang, Amjad Nawaz (44) from Birmingham, acted as a middleman for Nguyen as they organised workers, the buying and selling of cannabis, and arranging for properties to be used in Birmingham. Their trial heard from a victim of trafficking, a Vietnamese national named only as 'Witness Z' who was exploited by the gang after arriving in the UK by boat in November 2020. Witness Z said he had no choice but to work in a number of cannabis grows, as he was in debt bondage to the people who had transported him to the UK. He was arrested in June 2021 after officers from Cleveland Police raided a farm at a house in Hartlepool where they found a note pinned to a bedroom door saying 'take what you want, please don't hit me, I do not know English'. Officer also discovered a hand-written diary extract from a migrant in which they ask 'why did I get beaten up and forced to work?' Over the course of the NCA investigation cannabis farms linked to the network were found in Tipton, Coventry and Edgbaston in the West Midlands, Derby, Hartlepool, East Ham in London and Gatley in Cheshire. Harvested cannabis was recovered from a further property in Hall Green, Birmingham. Nguyen and Tran both pleaded guilty to conspiring to produce cannabis, but the others denied the charge. All six denied charges of trafficking for exploitation but were found guilty of all charges on Monday, February 24 following a seven-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court. Today, Nguyen was jailed for 15 years, Dinh got 14 years, Tran was sentenced to 11-and-half years, Nawaz 12 years, while Hussain and Akhtar got 10 and 10-and-a-half years respectively. In separate hearing at the same court two other members of a second organised crime group were also sentenced today. Roman Le (37) from Birmingham, was the leader of a gang that operated at least eight farms in residential and commercial properties, as well as a storage facility housing both equipment and harvested cannabis. Posing as property developer, Le sourced the properties and either bought or rented them, in some cases erecting scaffolding around the buildings, making it look like renovation work was taking place, to disguise the real use. Le worked with co-defendants Yihao Feng (29) from Manchester, and David Qayumi (36) from Birmingham, to source and operate the properties including a disused nightclub in Coventry, a former public house in Birmingham, and an old hotel in Lancashire. Together, the farms were capable of making millions of pounds worth of cannabis. Qayumi, who posed as a businessman, worked alongside with Le to buy, rent or sub-let the properties, while Feng acted as an 'operations manager' making sure the secret factories kept working. Today, a judge handed Feng a sentence of three-years-and-two-months in prison, Qayumi got three-years-and-four-months. Le will be sentenced on 30 July. NCA Branch Commander Kevin Broadhead said today's sentencing hearings are the culmination of two major NCA investigations. 'These gangs were involved in drug production on an industrial scale, often exploiting migrants who had been smuggled or trafficked into the UK for the sole purpose of being put to work, or who were working to pay off debts,' he said. 'The men sentenced today didn't care that these migrants were brought to the UK in incredibly dangerous ways in lorries or in boats and were then made to live in degrading conditions, often under the threat of violence. They just saw them as a way to make money. 'The sentences handed out today should serves as a warning, the NCA is determined to target, disrupt and dismantle the criminal gangs involved, and we will use all the powers at our disposal to do so.' Lauren Doshi of the Crown Prosecution Service added: 'These defendants make use of vulnerable people who are driven by poverty to seek to work illegally in the UK. 'They were forced to live in squalid conditions with threats made to their lives and those of their families should they fail to comply with the conspirators demands.'

Student denies female teacher ‘groomed' him but they had sex after Leaving Cert

Now in his 20s, the man was giving evidence at an inquiry into alleged professional misconduct by the teacher at a Dublin school in 2018. A young man has denied that his female English teacher 'groomed' him while he was a Leaving Cert student, although they had sex in a hotel after the exams were finished. The then-18-year-old said apart from the single sexual encounter with the teacher, they were not romantically involved before or since and denied that they exchanged daily Snapchat messages while he was still at school. He also insisted he had no reason to tell 'untruths' in an attempt to 'protect' her. Now in his 20s, the man was giving evidence at an inquiry into alleged professional misconduct by the teacher at a Dublin school in 2018. She is denying allegations that she had a romantic relationship with the student that summer and exchanged photos or videos with him on Snapchat every day between June 14 and his final Leaving Cert exam on June 20. It is claimed the daily messages continued while he was awaiting his exam results, until August 14 that year. Photo: Getty Today's News in 90 Seconds - July 4th She is also alleged to have had a sexual encounter with him on a date in early August, and though she accepts this took place, she maintains it was a 'one-off" and did not amount to misconduct. The fitness-to-teach inquiry is being held by the Teaching Council following a complaint by the school principal, after the woman's ex-partner discovered the alleged affair and reported it to her colleagues. The council says the allegations amount to 'disgraceful or dishonourable professional conduct of such seriousness as to bring the profession into disrepute' and are contrary to the Code of Professional Conduct for Teachers. Today, the former student gave evidence that one night in August, 2018 he was at a pub with work friends in Dublin city centre when he noticed the teacher and approached her. 'I walked over and maybe said hello," he said. "We were talking for a while and we just ended up going to a hotel near where we were.' The teacher's barrister Eoghan Cole SC asked him if there was a 'connection" as they talked. 'Yeah maybe,' he replied. He did not think anything physical happened in the pub, but agreed there was 'flirting.' They both decided to leave together but he was not sure which of them suggested it. He was not involved in any pre-booking of the hotel room and was not sure if the teacher had booked it. 'We just ended up spending the night, I don't remember how that happened, or who suggested it, maybe I did,' he said. 'During the course of when you were in the hotel, you had sex together,' Mr Cole asked. 'Yeah,' the witness replied. He was 'pretty sure' the next morning the teacher left before him. They did not exchange numbers and had no contact of any kind before or since, he said. He knew nothing about the allegations until his former principal phoned his parents in 2019. He said when he heard it was alleged there was 'grooming going on' his reaction was: 'that's not me, that's nothing to do with me.' 'That is completely false,' he told the inquiry, and he 'wanted to clear it up.' Snapchat messages purporting to be between him and the teacher were submitted and he denied this was his account, saying he was not using the platform at the time and never had his teacher as a friend or contact on any social media. He also denied he had ever been at the teacher's house or that they had spent another night together in her car, as had been claimed. Cross-examined by Eoghan O'Sullivan BL, for the director, the witness said he had only ever had a normal 'teacher-student relationship' with the woman, who taught him in fifth and sixth year. He said he had no reason to tell untruths to protect her as 'I don't really know her outside of what happened that night, and school.' He was asked about Facebook messages alleged to have been between the woman's ex- partner and him in early September 2018. The ex was alleged to have tried to phone him after finding the teenager's messages to the teacher. 'Who the f**k are you and why are you texting my girlfriend?', the ex had said, explaining: 'Your teacher, you little muppet. I seen the messages.' The teenager allegedly replied: 'Just talking to her about absolute bollocks because I get on with her. Nothing more than that, if that's what you're thinking. (She) is my teacher, pal, there's hardly anything going on with her.' These messages were 'completely inconsistent' with his assertion that he had no other contact with her, Mr O'Sullivan said. The witness said he could not say for sure if it was him in the messages as he did not remember it, and did not recognise the Facebook profile. Mr O'Sullivan put it to him that it would have been a 'memorable event' if he had a sexual encounter with someone who was recently his teacher and her irate partner contacted him to 'get to the bottom of' what was going on. Mr O'Sullivan also said it would have been 'unusual' if he and the teacher did not kiss or touch before they got to the hotel, if there was no form of relationship already. The witness replied he just 'wouldn't be like that in general' in public. He did not 'tell his mates' about the sexual encounter, saying 'it wasn't really that big a thing for me, to be brutally honest.' The inquiry was told earlier that the teacher is now working at a different Dublin school. Chairperson Fergal McCarthy adjourned the hearing which will continue on a later date. When it concludes, a disciplinary panel will assess the evidence and if the allegations are found to be proven, potential sanctions range from "advice" on future conduct to removal of a teacher from the register.

"The trio then headed back down to Sunset Plaza, and Kristina appeared very animated as they spoke for more than an hour, her friends seemed very supportive," they said. Just 24 hours before, a jury decided to only convict Combs of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution - each has a maximum 10-year prison sentence and no minimum. He has been acquitted of racketeering conspiracy, which carried a life sentence, and two counts of sex trafficking. "I have never condoned or aided and abetted the sexual assault of anyone. Nor have I ever drugged anyone," Khorram continued. That is not who I am and my heart goes out to all victims of sexual assault." Khorram was compared to Jeffrey Epstein's "madam" Ghislaine Maxwell by producer Lil' Rod Jones in his $30 million suit, in which he accused Combs of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Advertisement Jones named Kristina Khorram as a defendant, who has denied any wrongdoing, while Combs' attorney Erica Wolff branded the complaint "pure fiction." Although a judge recently rejected many of Jones's claims, he did not dismiss the allegations against Combs or Khorram. He said the lawsuit includes several specific examples of incidents Combs allegedly "recruited or enticed Jones to solicit and perform sex acts with commercial workers" and allegedly "transported Jones across state and international borders to do so." Meanwhile, Combs on Wednesday when the verdict was read out in a Manhattan courtroom. They say the guideline sentence for him is just 51 to 63 months [five and a half years maximum], and he has already been behind bars for nine months. It reads, "The Government notes, however, that the Guidelines applicable at sentencing may be higher than this preliminary calculation. "The Government has not had adequate time to carefully consider all potentially applicable Guidelines provisions."
