PM Modi holds roadshow in Patna before meeting party leaders at BJP headquarters
Earlier, before setting off on his roadshow, PM Modi inaugurated the new integrated terminal building of Patna airport and Bihta civil airport, about 30 kms from Patna. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and all top state BJP leaders were present at the Patna airport to welcome PM Modi.

During his nearly 6-km long roadshow, PM Modi's convoy was showered with flower petals and the gathered crowd chanted 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' seeing his convoy passing from there. However, unlike his last roadshow in Patna held in May 2024, PM Modi didn't come over his vehicle this time and kept waving from inside the vehicle towards gathered people flanking both sides of the road en route to the roadshow.
Mostly women and youth holding tricolours and posters of PM Modi in hand had come to 'see' him in the sweltering summer heat, waiting for his arrival for hours. The six-km roadshow took nearly two hours for PM Modi's slow-moving convoy to reach BJP's state headquarters. Posters depicting 'Operation Sindoor' and PM Modi were prominently displayed en route to the roadshow.
PM Modi is likely to visit the State again on June 20, though, said the state BJP leaders, the venue has not been decided yet.
Later, he reached the party's state headquarters at Beerchand Patel Road and held a meeting with BJP leaders and workers in view of the upcoming State Assembly elections, which are due in October-November this year. Mr Modi will address a public meeting at Bikramganj in Rohtas district on May 30, where he is also expected to announce a ₹50 thousand crore project for the development of the state. PM Modi is scheduled to make an overnight stay at Raj Bhawan in Patna.
'PM Modi's roadshow was a historic moment for all of us and it was a huge success where over a lakh people had gathered on both sides of the road to welcome their leader,' said young party MLA and Urban Development and Housing Minister in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led cabinet Nitin Nabin, who has been made in charge of the roadshow in Patna.
Earlier, PM Modi had visited the state in February and April and on May 4 recently this month, he had inaugurated the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna through video conferencing.
'He (PM Modi) will be addressing a huge public rally tomorrow (May 30, 2025) at Bikramganj in Rohtas district, where, said former state party president and party MP Sanjay Jaiswal, who has been monitoring the PM's rally there, 'over 5 lakh people are expected to come'.
People from neighbouring Bhojpur and Buxar districts too are expected to visit the PM's rally at Bikramganj.

Long-range precision hits had psychological impact on Pakistan: CDS
NEW DELHI: Long-range precision strikes during the cross-border hostilities in May caused "a huge psychological impact" in Pakistan, chief of defence staff General Anil Chauhan said on Tuesday, reiterating that Operation Sindoor had not yet been called off. The CDS emphasised the need to adapt swiftly to disruptive technologies, rethink legacy structures and prioritise synergy across the Army, Navy and IAF to tackle the challenges emanating from the constantly evolving nature of warfare. "War and politics are closely related. Wars are often fought to achieve political purposes. Today, we see very short, precise wars - like in Operation Sindoor - where political goals are achieved through rapid and targeted action," the CDS said at the inaugural edition of the Annual Trident Lecture Series organised by the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies. Noting that "domination" through impact and effect is the new norm, the CDS said Operation Sindoor was not undertaken to capture territory or prisoners of war. "There were very long-range precision strikes (at selected targets). The impact was important. Physical was less, but the psychological impact was much more. NEW DELHI: India and the Philippines upgraded their relationship to a strategic partnership with focus on expanding defence, security and maritime cooperation, as PM Modi on Tuesday hosted President Ferdinand Marcos Jr for bilateral talks. The two sides signed 13 agreements and MoUs, which included finalisation of terms of reference for cooperation between all three wings of the armed forces, as Modi expressed support for freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific in line with international laws. Amid protests by China against joint patrolling by India and the Philippines in the South China Sea (SCS), both sides expressed concern over "coercive and aggressive actions" there that impact regional peace and stability and called upon relevant parties to exercise self-restraint and commit to peaceful and constructive means to resolve and manage disputes. According to a joint statement, the leaders underscored that the final and binding 2016 arbitral award on the SCS was a significant milestone and the basis for peacefully resolving disputes in accordance with international law. The award had refuted China's expansive claims on SCS waters in its dispute with Manila. The visit by Marcos, who backed interoperability between the armed forces of the two countries, coincided with India's first joint patrol of the SCS with the Philippines. The PLA accused the Philippines of "rallying an external country to interfere in the SCS by organising so-called joint patrols which undermine regional peace and stability". It did not name India. The visit by Marcos also took place ahead of a likely visit to China by Modi later this month for the SCO summit. Talks are also on for a possible visit by Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi to India this month.
