India Post Payments Bank starts Aadhaar-based face authentication for digital banking
has started nationwide rollout of
Aadhaar-based face authentication
facility for customer transactions that is expected to make
digital banking
more secure and convenient especially for the elderly and differently abled people, according to a statement on Friday.
The face authentication feature, developed under the framework of UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India), will enable customers to perform
banking transactions
using facial recognition, eliminating the need for physical biometric inputs like fingerprints or OTPs.

The feature will help banking for the elderly, differently-abled, and individuals with worn fingerprints in carrying out transactions, the statement said.
It will secure Aadhaar authentication without dependency on OTP or fingerprint sensors as well as enable safe banking during health emergencies, where physical contact may be risky, it added. PTI

US Entrepreneur Faces Backlash For Promoting Overwork Culture: "Mother Didn't Raise No Quitter"
A US-based startup co-founder is being criticised on LinkedIn for promoting a culture of overwork, disguised as ambition. Emilio Van Cotthem, co-founder of the internship platform Subscription Intern, shared a screenshot of his tightly packed weekend calendar, claiming he "collapsed" from exhaustion. However, he quickly backtracked, presenting his gruelling 31-meeting weekend as a point of pride. "I had 31 meetings this weekend. I collapsed," the entrepreneur wrote, before adding, "Psych - mother didn't raise no quitter." In the following lines, he continued: "You want to stay ahead? You have to work when your competition is 'unplugging.' Steve Jobs didn't take weekends off - neither do I. Work-life balance? Cool. I'll balance later - after I win." The post quickly gained traction online, with many criticising Mr Cotthem not only for the tone of his post, but also for promoting a culture of overwork. "Bro this ain't nothing to celebrate. We have one life to live, and your company and clients aren't coming to your funeral," wrote one user. "Good for you if that is what drives you. If you collapse from a stroke or heart attack today, was it worth it?" commented another. "This is not the flex you think it is," remarked a third user. "I thought this was satire," wrote one user. However, despite the criticism, Mr Cotthem chose not to retreat. Instead, he returned with a follow-up post - this time sharing another screenshot of an even fuller calendar and defending what he called the "madness". "People said I 'had no life.' They used my 70+ meeting Google Calendar as proof... But while they were criticising me from the sidelines, I was in the arena, getting my reps in," he wrote. The entrepreneur further listed outcomes from his relentless work pace. Want To Live Again? German Firm Offers To Freeze Your Body For Rs 2 Crore And Revive You Later
Berlin-based startup Tomorrow Bio is offering a futuristic service that preserves the human body after legal death, aiming to give people a second chance at life. For $200,000 (Rs 1.74 Crore), the company provides full-body cryopreservation by quickly cooling the body to extremely low temperatures, which helps prevent cellular damage and decay. Since timing is critical, Tomorrow Bio runs a 24/7 emergency standby team to begin the process immediately after legal death. The idea is that future medical advancements may one day be able to revive preserved individuals. So far, over 650 people have signed up for the service, placing their trust in science and the hope that death could eventually become reversible. According to the BBC, is Europe's first cryonics lab, with a mission to freeze patients after death and potentially bring them back to life, all for a cost of $200,000 (Rs 1.74 Crore). So far, the company has cryopreserved "three or four" people and five pets, with nearly 700 more already signed up. In 2025, they plan to expand operations to cover the entire US. The BBC reported that no one has ever been successfully revived following cryopreservation, and, even if they were, the potential result could be coming back to life severely brain damaged. That there is currently no proof that organisms with brain structures as complex as humans' can successfully be restored exposes the concept as "preposterous," says Clive Coen, professor of neuroscience at King's College London. He sees pronouncements that nanotechnology (carrying out elements of the process on a nanoscale) or connectomics (mapping the brain's neurones) will bridge the current gap between theoretical biology and reality as overpromises, too. "Once you go under zero degrees, you don't want to freeze the body; you want to cryopreserve it. Otherwise, you would have ice crystals everywhere, and the tissue would get destroyed," says Emil Kendziorra, co-founder and a former cancer researcher, whose firm works both in practical and research areas of cryonics.
