Princess Andre shares sad reason she couldn't speak to dad Peter about mum Katie Price

Katie Price and Peter Andre's daughter Princess has revealed that she cried herself to sleep instead of speaking to her dad about her mum's issues
Princess Andre has revealed the sad reason why she couldn't speak to her dad Peter Andre about her mum Katie Price following their bitter divorce.

In her brand-new ITV series, The Princess Diaries, which airs on Sunday night on ITV, the influencer and model, 18, is set to open up about how her parents' estranged relationship has affected her through her childhood and teenage years.

Earlier this summer, Princess announced the exciting news of the ITV show, which will offer a behind-the-scenes look into her life and burgeoning career as a model, focusing on her relationship with her family. It comes after her mum Katie, 47, revealed that Princess has moved out in another swipe at ex Peter.

In the first episode of her reality TV series, Princess opened up about why she felt she could never speak to her dad, Peter, 52, about her mum following their bitter split and the fact they haven't spoken in years.
During the episode, Princess speaks to her mum on the phone while she's away on holiday in Dubai. After the call, Princess admitted that she and her famous mum are more alike that people would think and revealed that they are now closer than ever - with her mum even baring all on FaceTime.

"She had her boobs out," Princess laughed. "She's just casually out of the shower with her top off. Like, she just doesn't care. I never answer the phone to my mum when I'm around people. Because when she's on the phone, she's so unpredictable.
"She just lives life. She actually doesn't care and I actually really, really, look up to that. I would love to have that mindset of 'I don't care', because deep down I always do care. I won't show any emotion but then I'll get to my bed and I'll cry and cry and cry.

"On my own, I don't handle it very well but to other people I would seem to fine and so good." Princess went on to address not being able to talk to her dad Peter about her mum as she revealed that she has been in counselling.
"I do have a counsellor and I do sometimes see her every now and again. But I don't feel like I can really ever talk so I just write everything down in my notes. I do wish that I could have had a more happier childhood," Princess admitted.
The 18-year-old told the cameras that she had 'so much on her plate' when it came to navigating her childhood with two famous parents who didn't get along. The influencer went on: "I had so many things on my plate at such a young age.

"I wish sometimes that it wasn't like that and I could have actually enjoyed it and not had things in the back of my mind so young. Obviously, I had amazing times in my childhood, I have so many amazing memories with my mum and my dad, but I also have lots of not-so-good memories of the time when my mum and Kieran split up."

Katie and Kieran officially split in May 2018. While they were married from 2013 to 2021, they separated in 2018, with Katie accusing Kieran of cheating. The divorce proceedings were finalised three years later, in 2021 and the former couple share two children Jett and Bunny.
"It happened when I was ten years old and he was in our lives for like five years. So, we got really close to him and obviously we loved him, but he did a lot of stuff and when they split up, everything kind of went downhill with my mum obviously being heartbroken.
"She didn't deal with that in the best way. She went through a very, very, dark time which is understandable. But it was hard for me because I was around adult things that kids should never see.

"And I think when we needed our mum there, she wasn't emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on."
Princess then confessed that she would bottle up her emotions in public but cry alone at home because she felt she was never able to open up to her dad about how she was feeling, because it was all down to her mum's actions and sadness.

"I remember coming home from school, and I would literally just cry in bed at 11 years old. I would never go speak to my dad about it because the way I've grown up, I obviously know that my mum and my dad don't like each other, which is fair enough, they are not going to.
"I could speak about my childhood and everything that happened and I would be absolutely fine, but then, once something sets me off, and when I actually deep everything, it makes me realise. Then it makes me think that maybe I'm still not over everything, and I'm still not healed from what has happened.

"I wouldn't say I'm fully recovered from it, but mum is such a different person now. If you compare her now to how she was back then, she has genuinely really fixed herself. She has apologised to me and I never wanted an apology from her but I think it meant a lot that she kind of acknowledged it.
"We're so close now and we do a lot of things together and we talk all the time. I love her. She's like my best friend."
The Princess Diaries debuts on ITV2 at 9pm on Sunday.

Emmerdale fans 'solve' who Ray was on the phone to - and who he's working with

Emmerdale fans think they know who new villain Ray was speaking with on the phone on Tuesday, and who on the ITV soap he might be working with amid him targeting Dylan Ray in Emmerdale was shown making a cryptic phone call with an accomplice during Tuesday's episode of the ITV soap. Now, some fans are convinced he's working with a familiar face. ‌ Just weeks on from Joe Tate being tipped to be in cahoots with Ray, a mystery scene in the latest episode has sparked more theories. Ray was shown targeting both Dylan Penders and April Windsor, before speaking to someone about their dodgy dealings. ‌ It comes as spoilers revealed April would be the villain's next target, with him already dragging Dylan into his drug dealing. Next week April will be left torn as she's manipulated into a drug drop by Ray, with it not revealed if she goes through with it or not. ‌ On Tuesday night we saw Dylan turning down a job from Ray, who feigned acceptance of this. It was clear he was manipulating the teenager, giving him loads of money and claiming to be his friend. With Dylan not keen to help Ray, he told him he couldn't help him on the latest job and Ray said it was okay. But at the end of the episode we saw him spying on both Dylan and April, before making a worrying comment. ‌ He was speaking to someone on the phone but their identity was not revealed. Ray told the mystery person that April was "sweet and innocent" and would be perfect for whatever they had planned. He claimed she would be "of use to them", no doubt with their dodgy dealings and jobs like the ones Dylan has been doing. But who was Ray speaking with, and who is he working with? Viewers had a theory or two about this, believing we already know the person on the other end of the phone. Some fans have gone back to the Joe theory, believing they are working together. ‌ Another theory speculated that fellow newcomer Celia might be linked to Ray. One theory said: "Anyone else curious as to who Ray was on the phone with? I reckon it's someone we know like Joe." Another post echoed this theory saying: "Is Ray working with Joe?" Meanwhile another fan commented: "Imagine if Ray was working with Celia." It comes amid Celia teaming up with Moira Dingle after both of them had drama with the Tates. Celia had a farm related business offer amid Moira's financial woes, while Celia revealed Kim Tate had raised her rent. Fans wondered if Celia was really helping Moira or if she was secretly against her. Secret rift tearing Katie Price and daughter Princess apart as distraught mum says ‘I feel like Brooklyn Beckham'

The Sun can exclusively lay bare the secret rift between mother and daughter after the teenager was told to 'distance herself' from Katie THE PRICE IS WRONG Secret rift tearing Katie Price and daughter Princess apart as distraught mum says 'I feel like Brooklyn Beckham' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) AS 18-year-old Princess Andre gears up for a debut TV series, the similarities between her and mum Katie Price are stark. Pneumatic model Katie also got her big break aged 18, with big-money deals, frenzied press speculation and reality television shows to follow. 9 9 The Sun can exclusively lay bare the heartbreaking secret rift between mum Katie Price and daughter Princess Andre Credit: Instagram 9 Telly bosses deliberately cut ex-glamour model Katie Price out of her daughter's forthcoming ITV2 show, The Princess Diaries 9 In a bid to market Princess as a pretty, middle-class influencer, they even turned down Katie's team's offer to film Credit: Getty Which makes the secret rift between mother and daughter, which we can lay bare for the first time today, all the more heartbreaking. While Katie, 47, adores her eldest daughter — who she had with first husband Peter Andre — she has been left devastated after the teenager was told to 'distance herself' from her 'low-rent' relative. Telly bosses deliberately cut the former glamour model out of forthcoming ITV2 show, The Princess Diaries, because it is 'not good for Princess to be seen with Katie'. In a bid to market the youngster as a pretty, middle-class influencer, they even turned down Katie's team's offer to film for free for three days. 'A BIT MOLLY-CODDLED' The snub, says a friend, has crushed the mum of five, with parallels, they say, to the ongoing Beckham family feud. Says one: 'Katie feels isolated and disregarded. She loves Princess so much and is supremely proud of the young woman she is becoming. But with all her expertise in the field, Kate obviously hoped to help steer her career — oversee contracts, advise her on press, that sort of thing. 'She has seen and done it all, and hoped to instil some wisdom and advice on how to handle fame. 'But ITV2 execs have made it clear they want nothing to do with her. Princess has been advised to distance herself from her outspoken mum, and is perhaps too young and shy to defy orders. 'Katie has been made to feel like a pariah when it comes to Princess's professional life. 'It's almost as though her working class roots and salt-of-the-earth attitude — one that has seen her make millions and remain a household name 25 years on — aren't good enough. Trailer for the upcoming series of The Princess Diaries starring Princess Andre 'Princess told her mum that she needed to distance herself publicly and yet chats to her all the time behind closed doors. 'She will always love her mum but there is just a personal/professional divide right now, which is tough for Kate. 'Kate is really embarrassed. She even offered to give up her own time to film for the new show but got an email back saying her services weren't required. Kate is really embarrassed. She feels a bit like Brooklyn Beckham, with no one in the Andre family really speaking to her. 'She feels a bit like Brooklyn Beckham, with no one in the Andre family really speaking to her. 'Even Kate's mum, Amy, who cherishes Princess, has been dragged into it all. She is so heartbroken about what is going on.' The Prices were banned from attending Princess's 18th birthday party in June due to filming. Katie, meanwhile, got a bucket-load of online stick after accidentally sharing a happy birthday Instagram message 36 hours before the big day. 9 The new ITV2 series will feature Princess's older brother Junior, her dad Peter and his wife Emily Credit: Rex 9 The snub, says a friend, has crushed the mum of five Credit: Getty The new ITV2 series, which will feature Princess's older brother Junior and her dad Peter, begins on Sunday. It also stars Pete's second wife Emily, a doctor with whom he appears blissfully happy. For the past few months, cameras have followed Princess around as she launches her influencing career, having already signed money- spinning deals with brands including Morphe and Superdrug. 'INCREDIBLY ALIENATED' She has more than 1.5million followers on social media and a dedicated legion of young fans. In the fly-on-the-wall series, the teenager addresses the traumatic memories of her parents' divorce, admitting she grew up in her household knowing her parents 'didn't like each other'. After bosses turned down Katie's offer to appear in the show for free, they instead asked for historic YouTube archive material to use. Furious Kate's team staunchly refused. Another concern of the Price family is that Princess is being handed fame too easily. 9 Princess with Junior in new series Credit: ITV 9 Princess with mum and nan last year Credit: instagram/katieprice The friend adds: 'Katie had to graft for her celebrity, going to castings on foot and by bus, and hustling for every bit of success. In contrast, Princess is maybe being a bit molly-coddled. 'She has chauffeur-driven cars taking her to and from events, and a management team doing all the commercial deals and paperwork for her. 'Technically, Princess, who is an absolutely lovely girl and remarkably grounded given her privilege and famous parentage, is a nepo-baby. 'There would be no TV series without Katie, so Kate feels it's imperative she doesn't take fame for granted. 'In short, she would love to be there for her daughter and be allowed more of a say in her career. CHILDHOOD TRAUMA 'Personally they remain a constant in one another's lives, but professionally Kate feels incredibly alienated.' Princess is managed by her Aussie dad's management company, who previously represented Katie when the couple were together. However, when the Mysterious Girl singer and Katie, who met when they were both contestants on 2004's I'm A Celebrity, divorced in 2009 after four years of marriage, their management went with Team Andre. The couple famously had their own hit ITV2 reality show Katie & Peter from 2004. The second and final series gave a telling insight into their problems, with the couple bickering badly during filming. They split up acrimoniously not long after. Relations between Peter and his loyal managers on one side and Katie on the other have been fractious for years. Although the former couple are now on civil terms, WhatsApping about their two children, it is fair to suggest there is little love lost. It is a topic that gets explored on the new show, and Princess has been doing a round of PR interviews to promote the series. 9 David and Victoria Beckham with son Brooklyn Credit: Getty She has admitted to having therapy to help with some of her childhood trauma. In one interview she said: 'I do wish I could have had a happier childhood. 'In the sense of, like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age.' While acknowledging the 'good times' in her childhood, she opened up about her mum's bitter split from third husband Kieran Hayler when she was ten. She does, though, also speak of her love for both parents. Katie is currently dating Married At First star JJ Slater, a man who gets on well with all the family. Although publicly Princess and Katie are not allowed to be photographed together, privately, I'm told, they speak 'pretty much' every day. Certainly, the last time I visited Kate at home in East Sussex, Princess was there alongside big brother Junior and his girlfriend, as well as the duo's older half-brother, Harvey. With three dogs, five bald Sphynx cats, including a pregnant one, a baby (Kate's niece Olive), two cameramen, Harvey, Kate's podcast partner, a cleaner, Junior and Princess and one of their mates, a photographer, and JJ, it was absolute chaos. But happy chaos. I chatted to Princess over chicken Caesar baguettes and golden syrup cookies and she was an utter delight — charming, polite and endearingly shy. We discussed fame and the pressures within it, and she seemed excited yet level-headed about whatever is to follow. She and her mum cracked jokes and chatted freely. Their bond was clear to see. Princess is a credit to both her parents. If only, then, she was able to be as proud of her mum as her mum is of her. The Princess Diaries begins on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2.

Coronation Street first look as Eva Price returns alongside sitcom legend

Coronation Street bosses have confirmed that actress Catherine Tyldesley will be reprising her role as Eva Price on the ITV soap, but she is not coming back on her own Coronation Street bosses have confirmed that Catherine Tyldesley will be reprising her role as Eva Price on the ITV soap. The actress, 41, left the cobbles in 2018 but is making a comeback which will see her take on the coveted position of Rovers Return landlady. ‌ Eva left the Street with daughter Susie, who at the time was four months old. But when she heads back to Weatherfield later this year, she arrives with new partner Ben Driscoll, played by Aaron McCusker, who is best known for his role as Jamie Maguire in Shameless and also starred in Bohemian Rhapsody as Freddie Mercury's boyfriend. ‌ It comes as reports emerged that the new owner of The Rovers had been revealed amid her return. Now the soap has confirmed the theory by fans, announcing Eva will be back in the pub once owned by her mother. ‌ What's more, Pauline McLynn, who made her name as Mrs Doyle in the classic sitcom Father Ted, has signed on to her interfering mother-in-law Maggie Driscoll and will be seen alongside Eva and Ben when they take over the nation's most famous pub in October. With them will be Susie and Ben's two sons. Former Emmerdale boss Kate Brooks, who took the reins of Coronation Street earlier this year, said: "We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow. The Driscolls do not arrive quietly, so expect big drama, explosive secrets and raucous knees ups galore. ‌ "To have actors of Catherine, Aaron and Pauline's considerable calibre at the beating heart of this family is absolutely wonderful, and we can't wait for you to get to know and fall in love with them as much as we have already done. Strap yourselves in, it's going to be an exciting and eventful ride.' Reports surrounding the return of Leanne Battersby's sister emerged earlier this year, but then nothing was announced until now. It's thought that the move has come about after EastEnders bosses revealed that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) will be taking over the Queen Victoria pub on Coronation Street's BBC rival. ‌ A source told The Sun: "Corrie bosses were never going to take EastEnders shrewd decision to reinstate Kat and Alfie at the Vic lying down. So they took their time looking for the perfect actor to play her husband to Eva as she makes her return to Corrie as the new boss of the Rovers." The insider added that Corrie bosses knew they had found the 'perfect' actor as soon as the Irish-born star walked into the room. They added of his character: "Aaron's character is also someone not to be messed with, and the locals are going to be in for a shock if they think they can take advantage of his good nature and that cheeky Irish charm. "It's the start of an exciting new chapter in the pub's history." Following her time on the cobbles, Catherine competed on Strictly Come Dancing. She has also starred in The Good Ship Murder and earlier this year appeared opposite Siobhan Finneran in an episode of the ITV drama Protection. She was also set to star Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical last year but it was cancelled and she went viral over a social media scandal known as Cakegate in late 2023.
