WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P. and owner of the 9:30 Club, today announced the reissue of 9:30 - a Time and a Place, the sold-out coffee table book that captured the legendary venue's history through never-before-seen photos, stories, and memories. The expanded 45th anniversary edition features more than 100 new pages, including The Atlantis venue, complete show listings, and tributes to the artists and staff who have made the 9:30 Club one of the world's most beloved music venues. Fans can pick up a copy at the 9:30 Club's box office during office hours or the 9:30 Club's merch booth during a show to skip shipping charges, or the book is also available online at 9:30 Club's website, (plus, members of I.M.P.'s free-to-join loyalty program, Friends with Benefits, qualify for free shipping on all online orders). The book will also be available to purchase as an add-on to concert tickets, with additional fees. 'We wanted to make a coffee table book that actually told the story,' said Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P. and owner of the 9:30 Club. 'I think it does. In fact, I think it tells a lot of people's stories. Because a lot of people are what the 9:30 Club is about. And there were some real characters. Still are.' The 9:30 Club is celebrating its 45th Anniversary with a limited edition, significantly expanded reissue of 9:30 – A Time and a Place, featuring more than 100 new pages of photography, storytelling, and history including the debut of I.M.P.'s latest venue, The Atlantis: a re-creation and near replica of the original 9:30 Club, constructed to host 450 fans night after night. Located at 2047 9th Street NW, next to the 'new' 9:30 Club, The Atlantis opened on May 30, 2023 with Foo Fighters kicking off a grand opening series of 44 underplays by legendary artists who were integral to the 9:30 Club's storied history, like George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Joan Jett, Jeff Tweedy, Tove Lo, Gary Clark Jr., Maggie Rogers, and so many more. These new pages reveal exclusive artist notes as well as 44 photos of that grand opening series - 41 by famed concert photographer Jim Saah, and three by photojournalist Ben Eisendrath - connecting the past, present, and future, as I.M.P's newest venue lives up to its tagline, 'Where Music Begins' - giving both established and burgeoning artists alike a new, intimate home to connect with fans in D.C. The updated edition also includes something fans have been asking for since the release of that first edition - a complete chronological listing of every show ever played at the 9:30 Club, from the original F St. location to its current home at 815 V St. In addition, the new book includes a heartfelt memorial honoring the late Shawn 'Gus' Vitale, the 9:30 Club's beloved lead sound engineer, with a tribute written by Ian MacKaye of Fugazi and Dischord Records. Featuring legends like Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Shirley Manson (Garbage), Keanu Reeves (Dogstar), Sarah McLachlan, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), HR Hudson (Bad Brains), Chuck D (Public Enemy), the Club's co-owners Seth Hurwitz and Rich Heinecke and scores more, 9:30: A Time And A Place is curated by Roger Gastman, famed art dealer, filmmaker, and publisher who focuses on graffiti and street art. 'Of the 100+ books I've made, the 9:30 Club book is the one I get asked about the most. Everyone wanted it long after it sold out,' said Gastman. 'Being able to breathe new life into it, adding a ton of new pages and images to the classic content, got me just as excited as I always felt (and still feel) going to the club. It was an honor to do this for my old hometown's foremost venue.' About the 9:30 Club Located at 9th and V Streets, NW, in Washington, D.C.'s historic U Street neighborhood, the 9:30 Club has been the inimitable place bands aspire to play and music fans love to attend since 1980. Everything we know so far about speculations on ‘9-1-1' season 9
By Aman Shukla Published on June 25, 2025, 19:00 IST Last updated June 25, 2025, 12:08 IST Alright, 9-1-1 fans, we're still catching our breath after that emotional rollercoaster of a Season 8 finale. Bobby's death hit us hard, and now we're all itching to know what's next for our favorite LA first responders. The buzz for Season 9 is real, with fans tossing around wild theories and counting down the days. So, let's dive into what we know about 9-1-1 Season 9—when it's dropping, who's back, and the juiciest plot rumors swirling around. When Does 9-1-1 Season 9 Premiere? ABC gave the green light for Season 9 back in April 2025, so we're definitely getting more of our favorite firefighters and dispatchers. No exact date's been dropped yet, but if the show sticks to its usual rhythm, expect it to land sometime in late September or early October 2025. It'll likely hold its Thursday 8:00 p.m. ET slot on ABC, right before the shiny new spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville . Word is we're getting 18 episodes, same as Season 8. You can watch live on ABC or stream next day on Hulu. Other options? YouTube TV, FuboTV, or the ABC app if you've got a cable login. Cast Updates for 9-1-1 Season 9 The core cast is expected to return, though one major absence will shape the season. Here's who we anticipate seeing: Angela Bassett as Athena Grant Nash, the LAPD sergeant navigating personal and professional challenges. Oliver Stark as Evan 'Buck' Buckley, the firefighter exploring new personal growth. Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Buck's sister and 9-1-1 dispatcher, now a mother of two. Kenneth Choi as Howard 'Chimney' Han, a key firefighter and Maddie's husband. Aisha Hinds as Henrietta 'Hen' Wilson, the firefighter and paramedic who declined the captain role. Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz, grappling with family dynamics. Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz, Eddie's son. Anirudh Pisharody as Ravi Panikkar, whose role is expected to expand. Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Tommy Kinard, Buck's romantic interest. The big news? Peter Krause won't be a regular since Captain Bobby Nash died in Season 8 after catching a virus in a lab fire. Fans are heartbroken, but showrunner Tim Minear teased Bobby could pop up in flashbacks or dream sequences. Angela Bassett's sly comment about a 'closed casket' has some folks wondering if Bobby's really gone for good. Set photos showing a firefighter's funeral have only fueled the chatter. What's the Plot for Season 9? ABC's keeping the story under wraps, but Season 8 left us with plenty to chew on. Bobby's death has the 118 in pieces, and Season 9 will likely dig into how they pick up and move forward. Here's what's on the radar, plus some fan guesses: Who's the New Captain? With Bobby gone, someone's gotta lead Station 118. Hen said no to the captain's job last season, feeling she couldn't fill Bobby's boots. Chimney stepped up big time in the finale, so he's a fan favorite to take over. Oliver Stark said Buck's got his eye on leadership someday, but he's not there yet. Some X users are dreaming up a dark twist, like a villain messing with the team over Bobby's death, stirring up trouble across LA. Athena's Next Chapter Athena's world got turned upside down. Losing Bobby means she's carrying a ton of grief, and Bassett hinted she might need counseling to get through it. Expect her to lean hard into her police work, maybe facing new risks or old ghosts, like the guy who killed her ex, Emmett. Buck's Journey Buck's been on a roll, coming out as bi in Season 7 and dating Tommy. Oliver Stark wants their romance to feel steady, maybe even grow deeper. Fans are hoping Buck bonds more with Hen over their shared queer experiences. A new work buddy in Ravi could shake things up, and there's talk of a 'Ravi Begins' episode to spill his backstory. Eddie and Christopher Eddie's headed to Texas to fix things with his son, Christopher, after a rough patch. Tim Minear says Eddie's all-in on being a better dad, but will he stay in Texas or come back to the 118? Some fans are rooting for an Eddie-Buck romance, but that's just wishful thinking for now. Maddie and Chimney Maddie and Chimney welcomed their son, Robert, named after Bobby. But Maddie's Season 8 kidnapping by a serial killer was intense, and that trauma might linger. Their family, including their tie to Athena, will keep us invested. Big Emergencies 9-1-1 loves going big, like the 'bee-nado' or that plane crash in Season 8. Fans are betting Season 9 starts with a wild disaster, maybe a multi-episode event. Could it tie to that rumored bad guy targeting the team? We'll probably get a teaser this summer to clue us in.
