Michael Jackson's estate rubishes reports of authorising BTS to record song for tribute album- Deets inside
Michael Jackson
.
According to the latest reports, it was shared that the group had recorded an MJ song last year.
Reports indicate that Jackson was working on an album in 2006, which was never finished due to his untimely passing.
The studio where the songs were being made still exists, and the owner of the establishment recently revealed that, among many other artists, BTS also visited the space in order to record a new version of one of the King of Pop's electrifying songs.
Paddy Dunning recently sat down for an interview with The Irish Sun, where he made a major revelation.
He shared in the interview that, 'The sessions started last year and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs. There are about ten more, written especially for Michael by the collaborators he worked with in Ireland, including producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew, who have signed up for the project'.
However, according to the latest reports, Michael Jackson's team has confirmed that any tribute album for the singer was not authorised by his Estate.
Para Chuck shared a screenshot of the estate's reply on the email that read, "Regarding this tribute album you are hearing about - any claims that the Estate authorised and/or supports this project are false."
Netizen reaction to the news
Since news of the band's involvement in the project went viral, fans of the singer raised objection about the Korean stars rerecording the late singer's tracks. One commented, 'I don't have anything against them, but their style/sound has nothing in common with MJ... This song will NOT be good'.
Another person shared their opinion about the news online, writing, 'Why can't the estate just give us ONLY MICHAEL for once??? Great, y'all are paying tribute to him, but do it your own way and stop ruining the art'.

BIGHIT shuts down BTS–Michael Jackson collab rumours: ‘Not involved in any capacity'
The internet lit up yesterday with reports claiming BTS had recorded a track for a posthumous Michael Jackson tribute album, but those rumours have now been shut down for good. BTS Fans of the global K-pop sensation were initially stunned, then divided, over claims that BTS had visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland to record one of Michael Jackson's unreleased tracks. The rumour, which came from an interview with studio owner Paddy Dunning, sparked backlash from those unfamiliar with BTS' long-documented admiration for Jackson. But as the story picked up steam, BigHit Music stepped in to set the record straight. 'Hello, This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We would like to address recent media reports concerning BTS' alleged participation in a Michael Jackson tribute album. BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor taken part in any recording sessions at the location for the mentioned project. The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity. We are continuing to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of inaccurate information. We express our sincere gratitude to fans for continuously showing support for BTS. We remain fully committed to supporting the artists and their endeavours. Thank you,' said the statement. How did the rumour start? On August 3, a well-known Michael Jackson fan site MJ Vibe reported that Paddy Dunning, who owns the Grouse Lodge studio in Ireland, had told The Irish Sun that BTS had allegedly visited the studio to record a track for an upcoming tribute album, which features unreleased songs Jackson worked on during his stay in Ireland. According to the report, the song dates back to 2006, when Jackson was working on music that never saw the light of day. 'The sessions started last year and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs,' Dunning was quoted as saying. He added that ten more unreleased tracks, created during Jackson's time in Ireland with collaborators like Rodney Jerkins and Nephew, are expected to be part of the project. Alongside the music, Dunning mentioned a documentary that's being planned to honour Jackson's quiet years in Ireland with his children. 'Michael's estate told me to plough ahead with this because, like me, they see it as a tribute to Michael. And for the documentary, we're going to get everyone's memories of working with Michael in Ireland," he shared. He also recalled meeting Jackson's son Prince in the US and said that the Jackson children — Prince, Paris, and Blanket — had fond memories of their time at Grouse Lodge and hoped to visit again. While the tribute project itself remains a mystery for now, one thing is certain: BTS are not involved!

BTS' Jungkook collaborating with Charlie Puth again? J-Hope updates as SUGA, RM and Jimin get cooking in studio
BTS' J-Hope shared a carousel of moments capturing the group's time in Los Angeles. Among the many photos of the team members resting, one particularly grabbed attention. Singer Charlie Puth was seen jamming with the members and having a jolly good time, raising speculations of another collaboration between the two acts after Jungkook's Left and Right featuring the American singer-songwriter. Moreover, the other members were seen recording in what appeared to be a famous studio in the States, where Standing Next to You was previously made. Charlie Puth is back in the studio with BTS, another hit on the way? J-Hope 's update, captioned, 'I'm out in LA', saw glimpses of BTS members 'cooking' with rounds upon rounds of recording sessions. In one of the videos, member SUGA could be seen playing a guitar. A rare sight, fans were happy to see him back in action and work on another banger. Moreover, member RM was seen in the recording room, probably getting some raps in. Their chilling sessions included Jimin and V, the latter of whom also appeared in his own update. The most important highlight in the series of photos and videos came last with singer Charlie Puth humoring the BTS members with a fidget spinner. Jungkook could be seen laughing with him over a muted conversation. V's own photo showed the American producer riding a scooter and Jimin in the same fit as in J-Hope's update, giving an impression that the group was indeed all together, sans Jin, who is known to be on his solo tour. The group has been working hard while staying at a secret location in Los Angeles. Set to release a new album in spring 2026, the team has been moving to and fro, from the US to South Korea. The highly anticipated new record will be the group's first since all members wrapped up their military services. Earlier today, BTS denied having recorded or being a part of the rumored Michael Jackson tribute album, silencing any reports saying otherwise and putting a stop to the 'song stealing' accusations that have been making the rounds. They vowed to be committed to disseminating misinformation.
