Alec Baldwin paid $500K ‘minimum' for hosting Planet Hollywood party: Insider
(NewsNation) — It's hard to pay the bills these days — especially if you have seven children under the age of 12.
Eyebrows were raised last week when it was announced that Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, were hosting the Planet Hollywood reopening in Times Square — a gig I'm told earned him a 'minimum' appearance/hosting fee of $500,000.
Alec Baldwin's show 'The Baldwins' fails to attract audience
'It was just odd,' my insider said. 'Alec Baldwin? He would never do that before (the 'Rust' shooting). He was an A-List Hollywood actor.'
But since the 'Rust' incident, where he accidentally shot and killed videographer Halyna Hutchins, things have changed.
While all charges were eventually dropped against Baldwin, years of legal fees drained his coffers, and acting jobs dried up. [He currently has only four proposed jobs listed on IMDB, three of which are in 'preproduction'].
And although Alec and Hilaria have the TLC reality show, 'The Baldwins,' it has suffered from dwindling ratings and major criticism from critics and audiences.
Is Hilaria Baldwin taking her shot at stardom?
So when Planet Hollywood owner Robert Earl came knocking, Alec and his wife answered.
One event organizer who organizes major events for large companies told me, 'For someone of Alec's caliber, it would cost a minimum of $500,000 for him to host, but possibly even more as he hosted it and therefore would have had to stay all night. They're horsetrading on his name, so they'd have to pay big money.'
At the same event, Boy George was billed as the DJ and 50 Cent as the 'special guest' — my source said they also would have gotten similar money. And while Pete Davidson also showed, my source said he likely got a fee as well.
Beyonce's fans are starting to get angry, revolt
'Nobody does an event like that for free,' the event manager said. 'They all get an appearance fee.'
One man who did show for free? New York City Mayor Eric Adams — who was promptly booed by the crowd on arrival.
Reps for Baldwin didn't return emails.

The multi-Grand Slam champion confirmed her engagement after months of rumors during a post-match interview in July 2025. "My fiancé is here, and he really encouraged me to keep playing," Williams, who was first linked to Preti in July 2024, said. "He's never seen me play." As part of one of the most famous sibling duos in sports history alongside her sister, Serena, Williams has spent much of her life in the public eye. However, she has been largely private about her romantic life. Williams previously dated model Elio Pis in 2012 and Nicholas Hammond in 2017 before finding her perfect match in Preti. So who is Venus Williams' fiancé? Here's everything to know about Andrea Preti and his relationship with the tennis star. He was born in Denmark Preti was born in 1988 in Denmark and spent most of his childhood there before moving to Italy with his family as a teenager. In May 2024, he shared photos from a trip to Copenhagen on Instagram and wrote that he was back in his "homeland." "No one can understand how much I missed you Chris," he captioned the post, which included a photo with his brother. "And how much I miss being here." Preti added, "Best time ever ❤️🙏🏻." He is an actor and producer While he spent many years as a model, Preti has since built a career for himself as both an actor and producer. After studying acting at the Susan Batson Academy in New York City, per his IMDb bio, Preti landed roles in television, film and commercials. He wrote, acted in and directed 2014's One More Day, while also appearing in the Italian television series A Professor. More recently, he starred in 2023's Temptation and was a contestant on the Italian reality show La Talpa. They were first linked in July 2024 Williams and Preti were first linked in July 2024, when they were spotted boating together in Nerano, Italy, along the Amalfi Coast. Since then, the pair have remained mostly private about their relationship, though they were seen together again in January 2025. That same month, Williams posted a selfie of her and Preti vacationing in the Bahamas on her Instagram Stories, calling her now-fiancé "the best company." She confirmed her engagement to Preti in July 2025 Williams and Preti first sparked engagement rumors in February 2025 when the tennis star was spotted wearing a diamond ring in Rome. Weeks later, she donned the sparkler at the Dsquared2 Fall/Winter 2025 fashion show at Milan Fashion Week. Williams confirmed that Preti is her fiancé six months later, following a tennis match in Washington, D.C. "You are now an engaged woman. So, how has Andrea helped you in this comeback? You're happy, a smile on your face. I mean, how much has he made a difference in your life?" Grand Slam winner Rennae Stubbs asked Williams in a post-match interview. She replied, "There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill. Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? He encouraged me to get through this, and it's wonderful to be here." Lindsay Lohan Had a Surprise ‘Parent Trap' Reunion at ‘Freakier Friday' Premiere
Lindsay Lohan may be reprising one of her many iconic roles alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in her latest movie, Freakier Friday, but the Y2K screen queen just had another surprise reunion on the red carpet. During the movie's premiere on July 22, LiLo ran into her co-stars from The Parent Trap, Lisa Ann Walter and Elaine Hendrix. Let's have a moment of silence for this legendary lineup in our good year, 2025: Aaaand again in video format: Of course, Lisa and Elaine, who have remained close friends since The Parent Trap dropped in 1998, pulled up to the Freakier Friday premiere to support Lindsay. Lisa, who is now known for her role as Melissa Schemmenti on Abbott Elementary, praised the actors when she reposted a sweet image of the trio on her Instagram Stories, writing, 'So proud of these gorgeous ladies.' As for Elaine, she playfully reposted a fan's reaction to their reunion with the caption, 'This is important to millennials everywhere,' and reminded us to reapply our retinol treatments when she whipped out these pics with IMDb: In case you need a refresher, Lindsay played the dual breakout role of twins Hallie and Annie in the remake of the 1961 movie when she was 12. Lisa played The Parent Trap's fan-favorite housekeeper Chessy. Elaine took on the role of Meredith Blake, a young socialite vying for Annie and Hallie's dad and his riches. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Elaine shared that Freakier Friday's director, Nisha Ganatra, hit her up to be in the movie, which happened to be the first time she saw Lindsay since the '90s. 'I got to physically see her, and we spent a lot of time together on set, hanging out, reminiscing, and catching up. Now, we're better about staying in touch with one another,' she shared, explaining that they didn't stay in touch after starring in The Parent Trap due to their age gap at the time. Elaine continued, 'She lives on the other side of the world and has a family and is busy. We both have full lives, but particularly through social media and texting, we're staying in touch, which is quite lovely. I'm so happy for her and where she is in her life. It's nice, in these new chapters of our lives, to be in contact.' Freakier Friday hits theaters August 8, nearly 22 years after the first movie came out in 2003. Get tickets to 'Freakier Friday'
