Man found dead in Tapah ravine classified as murder by police
The victim suffered multiple injuries from a blunt object, according to autopsy results.
Tapah district police chief Supt Johari Yahya said the autopsy, conducted at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital's forensics unit in Ipoh, revealed bruises and abrasions on the victim's head, face, chest, back, and hands.
'The cause of death was multiple blunt trauma from being hit with a blunt weapon,' he stated.
The body was discovered in a prone position under a 15-metre embankment by the roadside. The victim was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
Authorities have taken fingerprints to confirm the deceased's identity.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Trio ordered to defend charge of robbing luxury handbag
KOTA KINABALU (July 14): A Sessions Court here today ordered three men to enter their defence on a charge of gang robbery. Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against Mohd Melvin Matdi, 36, Shahrizan Sablee, 24, and Zamree Said, 35. The three were charged under Section 395 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping, upon conviction. The court fixed August 8 for the defence trial. Mohd Melvin was denied bail and remains in remand, while bail for the other two accused was extended. According to the facts of the case, the three men allegedly robbed a 39-year-old woman of a luxury handbag at a tamu in Menggatal at about 4.20am on March 7 last year. Deputy public prosecutor Bryan Francis is leading the prosecution. Counsel Sylvester Kwan is representing Mohd Melvin, while the other two accused remain unrepresented. Four prosecution witnesses are expected to be called during the trial.

He said that if the document was verified as authentic and classified as confidential, its publication or distribution could have legal implications, particularly under the Official Secrets Act. 'I understand a police report has been filed. I cannot confirm whether the document circulated is authentic or not. 'If it is a genuine and classified document, then the Official Secrets Act applies. 'Therefore, we need to be cautious and avoid disseminating classified documents.
