Sharjah starts construction of new mosque in Kshisha1 area of Al Rahmaniyah
This action follows Sheikh Sultan's instructions in response to a call made on the "Direct Line" programme, aired by Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, where a caller expressed the urgent need for a mosque in the area.
Specialised teams from the SIA started work within less than a month, coordinating with relevant authorities to initiate the design and preliminary phases at the mosque site.
These include land preparation, ensuring the mosque is designed in line with the architectural standards of the emirate's mosques, considering capacity, services, and a distinctive Islamic aesthetic and architectural style.
This project exemplifies Sheikh Sultan's consistent dedication to fulfilling the needs of the emirate's residents and enhancing their quality of life.
The department affirmed that the new mosque will meet the needs of Kshisha1 residents, as part of a carefully planned geographical distribution of mosques, within an integrated vision aimed at building a spiritually and architecturally cohesive community.

Third summer program kicks off at Holy Quran Academy
This year's offerings include four main areas of focus: Quranic calligraphy and decoration, the basics of Tajweed (rules for reciting the Quran), a course titled "My Experience with the Quran," and a special track called "Future Guide" for young people aged 9 to 17. This included over 1,082 attendees in person and more than 2,300 who participated remotely. Al Hosani emphasized the Academy's dedication to being a leading global institution for those studying the Quran, focusing on building a comprehensive approach to serve the community while preserving important knowledge and teachings related to the Quran.

DSQC recalls Sharjah Ruler's honorary doctorate from Diderot University
The degree was conferred on March 16, 2012, during an official ceremony in Paris. This honour recognised Sheikh Sultan's lifelong contributions to education, scientific research, and cultural exchange, both nationally and internationally. The university also commended the Sharjah ruler's efforts in promoting intercultural communication between the Arab world and the wider global community. During the ceremony, held at the university's headquarters, Sheikh Sultan described the honorary doctorate as 'a symbol of pride that will remain in memory.' 'We express our sincere gratitude to the President of the French Republic and the ministers for their support of collaborative initiatives that strengthen ties between the UAE and France, especially in education, health, renewable energy, the environment, and arts,' he said. His Highness also praised the academic standing of the university and pointed to the successful cooperation between the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research, University of Sharjah (UOS), and Sharjah Research Academy (SRA). This partnership, he noted, had already produced impactful research in a relatively short time. At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Highness signed the university's golden guestbook, and visited its dermatology museum, where he highlighted the university's dedication to research and academic excellence. Paris Diderot University, one of France's oldest and most prestigious institutions, was founded in the 12th century. It was officially renamed in 1994 following the reorganisation of the University of Paris in 1970, and is renowned for its programmes in medicine, sciences, and humanities disciplines. The honorary degree reinforces Sheikh Dr. Sultan's respected global standing and reflects Sharjah's continued progress in culture, education, and human development.

Al Muntada Al Islami concludes 25th scientific session
The session attracted a wide range of participants from different parts of the community and explored various topics. These included discussions about the Holy Quran, teachings from the Prophet Muhammad, the principles of Islamic law, and methods of spiritual purification, alongside opportunities for recitation practice. Well-known scholars led these discussions, providing insights that balanced traditional teachings with modern perspectives. Dr. Majid Bushlaibi, the Secretary General of Al Muntada Al Islami and the Chairman of the organizing committee, highlighted that this academic session aimed to create a supportive environment for learning Islamic sciences. He emphasized the importance of connecting the community with trustworthy sources of knowledge and fostering direct communication between scholars and students. He also expressed his gratitude to all the organizations that contributed to the success of this session, including the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Islamic Affairs Department, and several others. Dr. Mohammed Nour al-Din al-Anis, who led the scientific committee for the session, pointed out that the timing of this event was crucial for strengthening the Islamic identity and building resilience within society.
