2026 4-star safety out of Mississippi predicted to land with Texas A&M
After hosting 15 elite prospects from the 2026 recruiting class last weekend, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his productive coaching staff have received several predictions to land five-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown, four-star offensive tackle Avery Morcho, and, as of Tuesday morning, Rivals Aggies insiders Mark Passwaters and Landyn Rosow have predicted the Aggies to land four-star safety Tylan Wilson out of Mississippi.
Wilson has been a Clemson target for quite some time. Still, after his official visit this weekend, Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman, along with defensive back coaches Ishmael Aristide and Jordan Peterson, have put in the work over the last month. With all the defensive back talent headed to College Station in the future, Wilson can see himself as a long-term piece in the Aggie backfield.
In today's college football landscape, solid safety play is in high demand. Still, Texas A&M's 2026 safety rotation is only guaranteed to lose one starter in senior free safety Bryce Anderson, while sophomore Myles Davis and freshman Rashad Johnson represent the future starting rotation, which could now include Tylan Wilson.
On the field, Wilson is highly versatile and could play cornerback at the next level, but he should thrive as a box safety against the run due to his on-ball instincts and ability to make plays in the middle of the field.
Standing at 6-2 and 185 pounds, Wilson is currently positioned as Rivals' 13th-ranked safety, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Mississippi.

USA Today ranks Texas A&M's Kyle Field as one of best SEC stadiums

Texas A&M's well-documented success at Kyle Field since joining the Southeastern Conference in 2012 has placed the Aggies in the upper echelon of gameday environments in the league, according to a recent ranking by USA Today. That is a testament to the electric factory formed by members of Aggieland who turn every Saturday into one of the loudest environments in college football. Over 13 years in the conference, Texas A&M has never lost more than three contests at home in a single season, while also boasting a 61-23 overall record. The stadium's capacity of 102,733 ranks fourth in the country and first in the SEC, trailing only Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State. Per Texas A&M's record books, Kyle Field has averaged at least 100,000 fans five times since 2014. During the 2014-2014 season, the program set the single-game attendance record against Ole Miss, as 110,633 fans showed up with rally towels in hand to cheer on the Aggies. The Maroon and White faithful made the environment so loud that the noise in the stadium replicated a jet engine at 117 decibels. USA Today national college football columnist Blake Toppmeyer recently ranked all 16 SEC football stadiums, placing the Aggies at No. 7 on the list. "Kyle Field towers like no other, and it literally shakes when the noise swells," Toppmeyer said. "Love or mock the Aggie Yell Leaders, you can't deny they create a unique scene, and the Aggies entering to "POWER" is one of college football's best intros." Here are Toppmeyer's SEC football stadiums rankings: While Kyle Field ranks as one of the top environments in the country per Toppmeyer's list, the environment also ranks as the No. 11 most difficult place to play in the EA Sports College Football 26 video game. The multitude of rankings placing the gridiron in Bryan-College Station, Texas, seem to all be in a consensual agreement that the Aggies' stadium has consistently been one of the best in college football. SEC Network schedule for Texas A&M takeover revealed

The 2024 calendar year for Texas A&M Athletics was both memorable and forgettable, depending on the sport. However, nothing matches the departure of former Aggies head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle from the program just days after A&M fell to Tennessee in the College World Series Championship matchup, leaving to join the Texas Longhorns in an unpredictable move that only enhanced the rivalry that was renewed on the gridiron a year ago. Still, Texas A&M's championship run was by far one of the most exciting seasons in program history, and will remain in a positive light despite Schlossnagle leaving. Outside of baseball, the softball team nearly made it to the College World Series before losing to Texas in the Super Regionals, while the men's basketball team, during Buzz Williams' final year at the helm, made it back to the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive season. Texas A&M's 2024 football team entered a new era under head coach Mike Elko, who returned to College Station after two seasons leading the Duke Blue Devils and serving as Jimbo Fisher's defensive coordinator for four seasons. Elko and his new staff were provided a muligan like every new head coach, but after building a 7-1 record despite several key injury issues, the loss of star running back Le'Veon Moss, paired with then-freshman QB Marcel Reed's issues in the pocket, were too much to overcome. Despite A&M's 1-4 finish, there were plenty of incredible moments, including the comeback win over LSU during an electric night inside a packed Kyle Field. On Friday, it was announced that Texas A&M will take over the SEC Network's schedule, an annual event that typically occurs in July. Watch Texas A&M running back's latest hype video ahead of the 2025 season

Texas A&M's 2025 running back room is loaded from top to bottom. Compared to last season, this unit will be able to sustain any potential injury with the return of seniors Le'Veon Moss, Amari Daniels, EJ Smith, and most importantly, former five-star prospect and redshirt sophomore Reuben Owens, who missed all but two games last season after tearing his ACL during fall camp. While Moss will be the focal point, Daniels and Owens will compete for the No. 2 role, while Daniels has a leg up based on his play last season, including his role as the starting running back after Moss's season-ending injury during the final five games of the season. However, Owens is by far the most versatile back on the roster and will finally be utilized in the passing game once the Aggies get through fall camp. Under OC Collin Klein, Texas A&M's offense should be a well-oiled machine with starting quarterback Marcel Reed running things due to his elite running skill set. At the same time, his throw game should improve with the addition of new wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, as well as Rueben Owens, who will be a valuable asset during screen plays and the quick game. On Friday, Owens released a new video showing just how healthy and ready he is to get back in the swing of things, as his footwork, burst, and overall speed appear to be back on track after a full offseason of getting back to 100%. Owens has also built more muscle on his frame to take the blows coming his way, which is necessary given his injury history. This is a critical season for Rueben Owens, given the future of the current running back rotation, as a solid campaign would solidify him as the 2026 starter once Moss and Daniels depart.
