Apoorva Mukhija Says She's 'Glad' About India's Got Latent Row, Praises Samay Raina: 'He's Killing It'

After her appearance on Samay Raina's India's Got Latent, content creator and actor Apoorva Mukhija—known online as The Rebel Kid—faced a lot of online trolling. Now, she says she's glad it happened. In an interview with Zoom, Apoorva shared that the experience helped her grow emotionally and rethink her relationship with the internet and public perception. 'I am really happy that it happened to me. I am grateful that it happened to me because I realised the internet is not your reality. It is a digital world; you don't live there. These people don't matter; nothing matters. Whatever you think of yourself matters. It took me so much courage to get back out there. I am glad it happened because it helped me detach from what people are saying about me," she said. The backlash prompted her to re-evaluate how much she was engaging with online comments and forums. 'I was in the loop of constantly checking Reddit, comments, what people are saying, and the roast videos they're making on me. Now, I don't care. I am glad it happened to me kyunki kisi aur ke saath hota toh nahi seh pate (had it happened with someone else, they wouldn't have been able to tolerate it). So, I really killed with that." Despite the tough experience, Apoorva had nothing but praise for comedian and host Samay Raina. 'He is really killing it," she said, acknowledging his rising popularity. 'The kind of shows that he's selling out and the kind of popularity he has, it is incredible." She also expressed relief that things seem to have settled down for everyone involved. 'Everyone got out of it, sort of unscathed and doing better than before." Apoorva had appeared alongside Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Ashish Chanchlani on the show, and soon after, the clip containing alleged obscenities led to FIRs against the panel members. Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, during an episode of the show, allegedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question involving body parts and proposed an indecent act in exchange for Rs 2 crore. The outrage peaked when he posed a controversial question: 'Would you watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?" Farah Khan says she wanted to marry at 23 but ‘dushman' mom was against it, talks about husband Shirish Kunder: ‘Grateful I married at 40'

Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan, known for her unfiltered humour and candid personality, opened up about her personal journey in her latest YouTube vlog featuring influencer and content creator Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid. In the new episode Farah Khan recalled the time she wanted to get married at 23. She also discussed her now husband, motherhood and YouTube stardom. The conversation took a surprising turn when 23-year-old Apoorva shared that she was already thinking about marriage. Farah, shocked, instantly reacted, 'Don't ever get married so young.' She then got real about her own past and revealed how she, too, wanted to tie the knot at 23. 'At 23, I wanted to get married. I thought my life is now over. 'Kya hi hai life mein?' And my mom was like, 'If you get married so young, I will throw you out of my house.' I cried and created a scene. I said, 'Other parents want their daughters to get married and you are my dushman.'' Reflecting on it now, Farah said, 'But today, I am grateful that I got married around 40. I am very happy. I have three beautiful children. A good husband. At 40, you do whatever you want.' Shirish Kunder is a filmmaker and editor. After working on 21 films as its editor, Shirish made his directorial debut with Jaan-E-Mann. He met Farah when she made her directorial debut with Main Hoon Na. Their marriage made headlines as Farah was 8 years older to Shirish. Apoorva then asked a practical question: 'But if I find someone now, so can I get married to him after dating him for 5–6 years?' Farah smiled and said, 'There is no date to get married.' She added warmly, 'You are just 23. Your mind will grow—' To which Apoorva jokingly interrupted, 'My mind stopped growing at 13.' In the same vlog, the two also talked about Farah's unexpected shift from making big Bollywood films to creating YouTube vlogs. Apoorva asked if she enjoys it, and Farah beamed, 'I have too much fun. If people come in time, it gets over in 2 hours.' She went on to explain how she got into the YouTube space. 'I had written scripts for films but then I thought, I will have to wait for dates of the actors. This gives me anxiety. People think, once you become famous, there is no stress. But that's not true. Even the biggest of stars get anxious.' Farah shared that multiple offers had come her way to start something on YouTube, but she had her own terms. 'I finally agreed but with a condition. I said, 'I will do this, but something of my own kind. It won't be a talk show or podcast. I don't want to run behind celebrities and struggle with their managers. I will take my cook and start a cooking vlog.' And it worked!' She added, 'By the time we did our second vlog, we received a silver button. Then we even received a gold. It worked well for us. Dilip and I started to have fun. Initially, it was just the both of us.' 'I haven't done movies in a very long time now. But with movies, two years of your life goes into it. You can't do anything apart from that. But with vlogs, I have a life. I can do this and also spend time with my kids, go watch a movie, and chill with friends and travel.' She also highlighted how far-reaching YouTube fame can be. 'We went to SOHO House, and all these rich people came up to us and said, 'We love watching your YouTube vlogs. We love Dilip.' And later, even the watchman of the place was watching our vlog. And so was the driver. The fanbase is much more. I am enjoying YouTube, and there's lots of money in it, which we didn't know. If only we knew this, we would have started it much earlier.' Farah laughed, pointing at Dilip, 'Dekho paisa tapak raha hai iske mooh se.' In true Farah style, the vlog ended with a humorous twist—she made Apoorva do the dishes. 'This is how they treat outsiders in Bollywood,' Apoorva joked. Farah responded, 'I also make the insiders do the dishes.'

Apoorva Mukhija aka 'Rebel Kid' says she's never seen struggle in Mumbai, she paid rent for her 2BHK house from money earned from social media

Apoorva Mukhija aka the 'Rebel Kid' who was last seen in 'The Traitors' recently appeared on Farah Khan's Youtube channel for her cooking show. Apoorva is known for her candidness and has just started afresh after the whole controversy around Samay Raina's show 'India's Got Latent'. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Apoorva moved to Mumbai at the age of 21 but she told Farah that she has never seen any struggle. She said that she has always lived in a 2BHK home here and paid her rent by herself. The episode kicked off with a classic Farah-Dilip moment. Farah's beloved house help and now full-time entertainer, Dilip, took on the role of hype man and unofficial tour guide. With a smirk and signature sass, he described the celebrity home as a 'gareeb ka ghar' (a poor man's house), instantly earning a wide-eyed glare and a loud laugh from Farah. As Apoorva settled in, the conversation got real. From growing up in Kurukshetra, moving to Noida, and eventually landing in Mumbai at 21, Apoorva recounted her journey with refreshing honesty. Farah, always the curious host, asked if Apoorva faced any classic Mumbai-style struggle stories. 'Not really. I always lived in a 2 BHK here,' Apoorva replied, to which a surprised Farah asked if her family chipped in with the rent. 'No, I did it all by myself,' Apoorva said proudly, earning an enthusiastic high-five from Farah. 'Aapko toh pata hi hai, YouTube se kitne paise aate hai,' she added cheekily, referring to the healthy income from content creation. She also revealed that before controversies began swirling around her name—particularly the one involving Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia—she had shot both her Netflix film Nadaaniyan and The Traitors. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Post that, however, the offers dried up. 'After that, no one's offered me work. You're the first one to invite me home,' she told Farah, half-joking, half-serious. Later, while the duo stirred up some Afghani eggs in the kitchen, a casual chat turned into an unexpected confession. 'Mere paas driver nahi hai, gaadi nahi hai, ghar nahi hai,' Apoorva admitted. She had to vacate her earlier home following the controversy and is currently staying in a rented space. Hearing this, Farah looked over at Dilip—who had just roasted their own home's simplicity—and quipped, 'See how rich we are! This is the first time we're saying that. Usually, we keep saying hum log kitne gareeb hai.'
