Yes, George Clooney Has Seen The Pitt — Here's What the ER Vet Had to Say About Noah Wyle's New Medical Show

Yahoo13-06-2025
TV's erstwhile Dr. Ross speaks highly of Dr. Robby: During an appearance on Monday's Late Night With Seth Meyers, George Clooney sang ER co-star Noah Wyle's praises, marveling at his performance in the Max medical drama The Pitt.
'Have you guys seen that show?' Clooney asked Meyers' audience. 'It's so good, and I have to say: We've been really dear friends since [ER] — since we did the pilot of the show. He is just the most honorable, talented young man, [which] I get to say because I'm an old man, and I cannot be happier for his success on the show. The show is just a beautiful show, and he does just a great job with it.'

Clooney's recognition followed an anecdote about his days as hotshot County General doc Doug Ross, and how often he struggled with some of the medical jargon.
'We used to do these things called oners,' he recalled. 'You've got to get 12 pages of dialogue out and nobody can screw up, or you have to start all over again. I'm at the very end of the oner, at Page 12, and I have one line — supraventricular tachyarrhythmia — and I'm telling you, I never got it! Literally! We did, like, 40 takes, and the rest of the cast is, like, 'Are you f–king kidding me?''
When Meyers pointed out that Wyle is once again faced with difficult doctor terminology, Clooney noted that Wyle 'never had trouble' on ER. 'He always could do it, and I hated him for that,' the Tony nominee deadpanned.
Clooney and Wyle recently reunited with fellow ER castmates Anthony Edwards and Julianna Margulies at the April premiere of Clooney's Broadway show, Good Night, and Good Luck, which is up for five Tonys this weekend. CNN is set to broadcast the penultimate performance on Saturday, June 7.
The Pitt, meanwhile, took home the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Drama Series on Monday. The streaming hit was previously renewed for Season 2, which is set to premiere in January 2026.

Wyle recently visited TVLine's New York City studio and marked the 25th anniversary of an unforgettable ER episode — Season 6's 'Be Still My Heart,' which culminated in the gruesome stabbings of both Dr. Carter and med student Lucy Knight. You can watch that interview below:

See last photos of Ozzy Osbourne at Black Sabbath's farewell show 2 weeks before his death

The last photos of Ozzy Osbourne before his death were of him doing what he loved — rocking out onstage. Two weeks before his death on Tuesday, Osbourne took part in Black Sabbath's farewell show on July 5. He performed his final show with his bandmates — Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward — at the Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England, where the band was formed in the late '60s. Osbourne sat in a chair for part of his final performance, rocking his signature black eyeliner and long dark hair. He wore a black sequin shirt for the occasion, along with an eye-catching black jacket with a gold band reading 'Ozzy' and leather pants. The epic 10-hour show featured performances from Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Jack Black and more, and was hosted by actor Jason Momoa. Ozzy's family confirmed his death in a statement obtained by Page Six. He was 76 years old. 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,' the statement reads. 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.' The heavy metal titan had been struggling with his health over the past couple of years. Ozzy revealed in January 2020 that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, a secret he had kept for over 15 years. In addition to the progressive brain disorder affecting his nervous system, Ozzy had been reeling from neck injuries he sustained in a 2003 quad biking accident. His final Instagram post was a touching tribute to Black Sabbath. He posted an image Sunday of a poster that was hanging outside of his dressing room door from their final show. The photo showed Ozzy and his bandmates, along with the words, 'Back to the Beginning.'

Is Tia Mowry a Single Mom? The Divorced Parent Responds to Backlash Over the Term

Recently, Tia Mowry typed a note to herself on her phone that read: 'Why do I get backlash for calling myself a single mom?' Mowry shared a screenshot of message in a candid Instagram carousel addressing the criticism she's received for using the term since splitting from her husband of 14 years, actor Cory Hardrict in 2022. The former couple share son, Cree, 14, and daughter, Cairo, 7. In her post, Mowry explained that being a solo parent, in her definition, doesn't mean 'doing it all alone without the father present in their kids' lives at all.' 'For me, in my household, I am SINGLE,' the 'Sister, Sister,' alum wrote. 'So I'm holding it down for everyone at home. I'm the only parent present day to day.' Reactions to Mowry's take were mixed, with some supporting her perspective and others arguing that the phrase should be reserved for women raising children entirely on their own. 'I'm a single woman, who co-parents. I reserve the term 'single mom' for someone who is without assistance,' one person commented. 'Single mom has generally meant a woman raising kids without a partner.' 'Validating!' 'If you file taxes as single, then you are a single parent — period' 'I think it's better to say you're a single woman, co-parenting." 'You are a single woman!!!!!' 'You are in fact, a single mom. Full stop.' 'A single mom is a woman who is raising her children in a single parent household. Just because she co parents doesn't make her any less of a single mom.' Stacie Martin, founder of Single Parent Advocate, highlights that experiences of single parenting can vary greatly. She shares that her ex was never involved in their children's lives. While acknowledging that parents with absent co-parents face different challenges than someone like Mowry, Martin emphasizes the importance of respecting each person's unique situation. 'Parenting for you might be hard because of a different set of factors than it was for me,' Martin tells 'But that doesn't make you any less of a single mom. We all face time contrasts and challenges when balancing our duties as single parents.' That's exactly the point Mowry was trying to make. 'What I want you to take from this: Being a single mom isn't one way or one story,' she concluded. 'There are so many nuances.' This article was originally published on Solve the daily Crossword

Ethan Slater debuts his 'Wicked' Lego figure, teases 'epic' sequel at Comic-Con

SAN DIEGO – "Wicked" star Ethan Slater didn't need Lego sets filled with witches, princes, woodsmen and yellow brick roads. When he was a kid, it was all about the unmarked trunk overflowing with bricks of all colors. But as an adult getting to play with his own Lego minifigure, Slater is pretty wowed. The 33-year-old Tony-nominated actor, who played Boq Woodsman in the Oscar-nominated first "Wicked," was on hand at the pop-culture festival Comic-Con, held at the San Diego Convention Center, to debut a bunch of new Lego sets inspired by the upcoming sequel "Wicked: For Good" (in theaters Nov. 21). Join our Watch Party! Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox Taking a peek at all the sets for the first time, Slater unsurprisingly spends the most time with the set featuring Boq and his Munchkinland home alongside toy versions of Elphaba (played in the movie by Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande). He notes that Boq's gray wardrobe is new for fans in the next movie, and points out the "Beware of the Wicked Witch" sign, part of the Wizard of Oz's propaganda against Elphaba on the side of the Lego building. "Elphaba's one of Boq's only friends, and on the side of his house is the smear campaign against her. Terrible," Slater says. As for the new movie coming soon, Slater teases an "epic conclusion" where "it's everything coming to a head." All the characters, from Elphaba and Glinda to Boq and Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), "have made these huge decisions at the very end of the first movie. How do they live with or transcend the consequences of those decisions?" Slater says. "So what we're going to see is all of these characters a little bit older. We already know them so well that to see how they grow in the second movie (creates) an even deeper connection to them." He gets a kick out of the "Wicked" wall art set, which features figures of Dorothy and her crew from "The Wizard of Oz," including Toto. "The first role ever was when I was 4 years old, I played Toto to my sister's Dorothy," Slater says. "I'm going to pretend that Toto is also a mini fig of me. It's the cutest I've ever looked." He also has fun playing with a set including Glinda using a magnifying glass. "What is she looking for with this? What is she looking for here? Does it really work? This is so Detective Glinda. That's actually a spinoff coming soon," Slater quips. Back in the day, Slater avoided big themed Lego sets in favor of diving into his "huge bucket" of Legos and "taking the world that was in my head and trying to build a version of it," he says. Yet these new "Wicked" Legos do justice to the work of him and his co-stars. "The special thing about making 'Wicked' was being in this world and it was so intricately designed," Slater says. "The work in all of these Lego sets that make it just as intricate and lets you experience it and be creative with it, it's just a really beautiful thing. It feels really true to what we did."
