'Supernatural,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'The Boys' stars coming to Toronto for Comicon 2025
As Andrew Moyes, Vice President of Fan Expo HQ highlighted to Yahoo Canada, Toronto is a particularly great location for a Comicon weekend. In addition to the response from the fans, the celebrities get excited about it as well.
"Toronto loves fandom. Some of these shows are filmed here, which is really key as well, and I think it's also a very welcoming city," Moyes said. "Often when we're speaking to our talent, they are so pleased that they are here."
But for the team behind the event, the challenge is always to give fans what they expect, while also creating new experiences to keep Comicon feeling fresh.
"We listen to our fans, what they're telling us. We also have to work with crazy schedules, with actors, but we continue to bring great names year-over-year," Moyes said. "It's challenging, ... but we also are a team of passionate fans."
"We understand that this is an opportunity that people have saved their hard earned money for, that they've really been looking forward to. So for us, when we see everyone enjoying themselves and the event going off without a hitch, that's the reward for me."
Comicon veterans will know that there's a lot to do and see, and a lot of people will be arriving to take part in the same experiences. So Moyes has some tips for Comicon attendees to ensure they have the best experience possible.
"I would definitely say check out the website, ... and go through and see what [you] definitely want to do, and chart out a little bit," Moyes said. "I think getting there early is also a really good idea. Come in, get your tickets early so you can really maximize your experience."
"And also follow us on social too, because once the weekend starts that's where we'll be pushing out a lot of the updates. ... But I always like to say you should leave a bit of space for the surprise and delight, because Toronto Comicon is truly a show where you're not quite sure what could happen, which is always exciting."
Moyes added that if you're someone who isn't ready to fully commit to the cosplay or you're apprehensive about meeting your favourite stars, or have nerves about experiencing your first Comicon generally, the panels (included in your ticket) are great places to start.
Comicon 2025 in Toronto runs from March 14 to March 16, tickets are available online

‘Gen V' Season 2 Trailer Promises Uncovered Secrets, Lots of Blood
The first season of Gen V never shied away from gore — as one would expect from a spinoff of The Boys — and it looks like the second one won't either. Prime VIdeo unveiled a trailer for the forthcoming season of Gen V Friday at Comic-Con, and it skimps on neither the over-the-top moments that are a hallmark of the Boys-verse nor the intrigue at Godolkin University, where the show's supes-in-training attend college. More from The Hollywood Reporter 'Alien: Earth' Screens Blockbuster First Episode at Comic-Con 'Rick and Morty' Spinoff 'President Curtis' a Go at Adult Swim 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon' Renewed for Fourth and Final Season at AMC The trailer debuted as part of a Comic-Con session that featured castmembers Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh and Hamish Linklater and showrunner Michele Fazekas. Chace Crawford, who will reprise his role as The Deep in season two, also made an appearance on stage. Watch the trailer below. Also revealed during the panel (and in the trailer) are the casting of Wicked's Ethan Slater as Thomas Godolkin. Additionally, Sean Patrick Thomas has been upped to a series regular for season two. Gen V's season two description reads, 'School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new dean (Linklater) preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate (Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann) are celebrated heroes, while Marie (Sinclair), Jordan (Thor), and Emma (Lizze Broadway) reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between humans and supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.' Sony Pictures TV and Amazon MGM Studios produce Gen V in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey and Original Film. Fazekas executive produces with Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Gen V season 2 is turning into a stealth season 4.5 of The Boys, as Starlight actor Erin Moriarty joins the cast
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Although there is no The Boys panel at San Diego Comic Con this year, the supes are definitely in the building as Gen V season 2 is here, and the show has dropped a bombshell: Erin Moriarty, AKA Starlight, is beaming over from the mothership show to join the students at Godolkin University for the imminent second season. And that's not all. The SDCC 2025 panel also brought news that Wicked star Ethan Slater is joining the cast for season 2 as none other than Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the school for fledgling supes. They'll be joined by Nathan Mitchell's man of few words, Black Noir, in the upcoming season. In other words, it's really starting to sound like essential viewing ahead of The Boys season 5. We last saw our favorite super-able students when Marie, Emma, Jordan, and Andre were framed for turning God U into a bloodbath, which was really Sam and Cate's doing. Vought then sent the four down to the Woods. But despite Gen V season 1 ending in utter chaos, season 2 starts with Marie, Emma, and Jordan returning for their sophomore year at Godolkin. This is because season 2 sees a little time jump as it takes place directly after the events of The Boys season 4. The official synopsis reads: "As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever." However, just because our favorite four are out of the woods now, that doesn't mean that everything has gone back to normal. "The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it." The series welcomes back Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, and adds Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Oh, we'll also see some Boys cameos too, including Chace Crawford's The Deep. Gen V season 2 will release with a three-episode premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 17.
