Speaking with Rural Intelligence about her new book Turning to Birds: The Power and Beauty of Noticing , Taylor casually confirmed her role in the series, saying: 'I'm the Governor, which is great.'
That lines up with speculation from Season 1's finale, where Commissioner Gallo tried (and failed) to reach New York's Governor after Mayor Wilson Fisk declared martial law. If you watched the series, then you know why that call didn't go through.
Taylor elaborated on the production, saying:
'I know Albany, and I know the politics there. We've got a set for inside, and then we did the outside at this really nice place in Tarrytown—that was the governor's house.'
Taylor went on to describesthe tone of the show under showrunner Dario Scardapane, saying:
'It's a TV show in New York. The locations are very familiar to me. More importantly, the people I'm working with—Dario [Scardapane] the creator, the producer Sana [Amanat], and Vince D'Onofrio—really care about what they're making. So it doesn't feel like this big corporate thing. It feels like we're telling a story that matters.'
With Kingpin pushing New York toward an authoritarian regime and unleashing his Anti-Vigilante Task Force, it makes sense that the Governor would emerge as a key player.
Taylor didn't go into plot specifics, but she hinted at the show's deeper themes:
'They're creating something meaningful. And the show's dealing with a lot of topical stuff—power, authoritarianism.'
So while Daredevil might not be arguing in court this time around, the battle looks like it's heading straight into the halls of government.
The question now is, how far will Fisk go to keep his grip on the city and can Taylor's Governor push back before New York fully becomes his personal kingdom?

Trained by dual Hall of Famer Mark Casse, the Knicks Go colt entered the 6 1/2-furlong sprint from an eye-opening 12-length debut romp on July 5 at the Spa. On Saturday, with returning rider Jose Ortiz up, Ewing broke a step slow and veered in at the start from the inside post while the sharp-starting favorite Obliteration caught a flyer from the gate. Nevertheless, Ortiz and Ewing hustled up the rail and showed the way through splits of 22.26 seconds and 45.41 over the fast main track, angling wide off the turn as Obliteration struggled to corner. Ortiz straightened away Ewing and powered through the wire in a final time of 1:18.03. 'We're really pleased with his performance. He broke a step slow and that was a good horse he beat,' Casse assistant Shane Tripp said. 'It was good race riding and exciting to see. What a day to display him. We're excited for the connections.' One of the connections amongst a Whitney Day crowd of 42,316 was co-owner Griffin Johnson, a social media influencer involved with West Point Thoroughbreds that is helping to draw attention to horse racing through his stake in Grade 1 winner Sandman and rising star Ewing. 'I was hollering and all these people were staring at us while we were cheering him on,' said Johnson, with a laugh Sunday morning while watching turf works on the Oklahoma training track. 'Whenever I post videos like that, people want to know what's going on and it makes people want to experience it for themselves.' The hope is that Johnson can direct a percentage of his following to understand and appreciate his interest in horse racing. The influencer's content has portrayed Johnson at the Casse barn helping to bathe and walk horses or simply interacting with the equine athletes like a fan – which he is. 'I always say authenticity is what does it for me,' Johnson said. 'There's getting people to click and getting people to stay, and the reason I think we get people to stay is because I show how I really feel.' And Saturday was definitely a day to showcase both Ewing and horse racing with the 13-race card generating a Whitney Day record handle of $49,651,341. 'Every day I wake up and I try to give people the real experience -- yesterday was a good one,' Johnson said. Tripp said that Ewing, who Casse indicated will stretch out in the Iroquois (G3) going one mile in September at Churchill Downs, exited the Saratoga Special in good order. 'He came back great,' Tripp said. 'We're excited about him. He ate everything last night and jogged good on the road. 'The way he gets across the ground, I think he'll relish stretching out and not having to rush him off his feet in these short races,' Tripp added. 'The View' co-host describes Harris interview as 'microcosm of everything that's wrong' with Democratic Party
"The View" co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin described former Vice President Kamala Harris' interview with Stephen Colbert as a "microcosm" of everything that's wrong with the Democratic Party after the party lost in 2024. "I was struck by, I'm going to try not be too harsh on this. This interview felt like a microcosm of everything that's wrong with Democrats post-election. I'm going to CBS and this sort of trying to make a point that they fired Stephen Colbert, which many on the left called an attack on democracy, a man who was making $20 million a year, someone I hold in high esteem, but the economics of his show were not working," Griffin said during an appearance on CNN's "Table for Five" on Saturday. CBS announced in July that they would be ending Colbert's late-night show at the end of the next broadcast season, citing financial reasons. However, Colbert's liberal allies believe the cancellation was political, as it came days after he criticized CBS' parent company, Paramount, for settling with President Donald Trump. "He was losing $40 million a year. He was in the Ed Sullivan Theater, which is expensive, to talk about the plight of democracy at CBS, a network that's having its own struggles right now, rather than talking about the economics of the situation and playing to something a shrinking audience that is network television, not realizing it's not where the American voters are," Griffin, an anti-Trump Republican who voted for Harris in 2024, continued. Griffin said Harris decision to appear on Colbert was like "announcing your exploratory committee on the sinking deck of the Titanic." CNN data analyst Harry Enten dismissed Harris' comments during the interview about a broken system. "Recently, I made the decision that I just – for now, I don't want to go back in the system. I think it's broken," Harris told Colbert after he asked about her declining a potential California gubernatorial run. "I just can't possibly believe that someone who was attorney general for a good period of time, a United States senator for a good period of time, and then vice president for four years and then ran for president, all of a sudden believes that the best way to solve it is from being outside the system. Oh, please. Not a chance on God's green earth that that's necessarily the case," Enten said, reacting to Harris' remarks. "What's probably going on is she saw what the polling numbers were, perhaps for her running for governor of California. Yes, she has left open the idea that maybe she could run in 2028 for the Democratic nomination. But I'll tell you Abby, I've looked at those numbers. She would be the weakest front-runner since 1992. So the bottom line is this, she is looking at the numbers. She knows what's cooking. And then all of a sudden, you know what? Actually, this lifelong politician, I want to be outside the system. Give me a break," the CNN data analyst added. Harris announced on Thursday she would be releasing a book on her failed 2024 campaign. Harris, in a video posted to social media on Thursday, announced that her new book, titled "107 Days," will be released in September and will provide details on what she calls "the shortest presidential campaign in modern history." "I believe there's value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what I know it will take to move forward," Harris said.
