Hans India29-05-2025
Kadapa: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, after getting elected as TDP national president on Wednesday thanking party men for their confidence on his leadership, said the six key resolutions and in-depth discussions during Mahanadu shaped a roadmap for the party for the next 40 years. He said only TDP has the strength to elevate Telugu people globally.
Naidu said TDP is the party that eradicated Naxalism, factionalism, and rowdyism. 'In the past five years under the previous government, properties were unsafe, and drugs mafia Increased manifold and ganja cultivation became a village-level industry in agency areas and crime was institutionalised.'
Stressing that the TDP government is committed for development of Rayalaseema, the CM said he will not spare any wrongdoer and act ruthlessly against them. It is the responsibility of the alliance government to protect peace and security in the State. He promised that he will never let Rayalaseema remain a drought-hit or barren region, adding that it is because of TDP that Anantapur emerged as a prosperous district through horticulture. This year, Rs 3,800 crore is being invested in Rayalaseema water projects. After Polavaram, Handri-Neeva is receiving the highest project funding. He said Veligonda project will also be completed on priority. 'We will complete Polavaram by December 2027 and dedicate it to the nation and connect Polavaram to Banakacharla via Krishna River and Bollapalli reservoir. Once Polavaram-Banakacharla is complete, the face of the state will change,' he stated.
Chandrababu said his mission is to ensure irrigation for every acre and uplift every farmer. He said the TDP government transformed AP from a state with power shortages to a surplus power state. He said
every constituency will get at least 10,000 rooftop solar connections and Under PM-KUSUM, farmers should install solar panels at pump sets as the Central government has earmarked ₹75,000 crore subsidies for this project.
The TDP chief said the alliance government is committed to developing all regions and constituencies in the state and developing Uttarandhra as a financial hub. Stating that govt will set up industrial parks in all 175 constituencies, he said Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs will be established in Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, and Anantapur.
Concluding his speech Chandrababu said with the blessings of people and party workers – we are achieving one milestone after another.

SC quashes FIR against Telugu actor Mohan Babu and his son in 2019 student protest case

In a major relief to Telugu actor-producer Mohan Babu and his son Vishnu Manchu, the Supreme Court on Thursday quashed a criminal case registered against them in a 2019 student protest in Tirupati over fee reimbursement. 'A reading of the FIR (First Information Report) and the charge-sheet neither discloses any act committed or illegal commission that caused common injury, danger, annoyance to the public or any section of the public or interference with their public rights, nor do they disclose any voluntary obstruction to a person that prevents them from proceeding in any direction that they have a right to proceed in," said the two-judge bench of the top court, headed by Justice BV Nagarathna and including Justice KV Viswanathan, in their verdict. The SC quashed the FIR against the father-son duo after finding that the offences invoked against the accused were not made out in the case. "The appellants (Babu and Vishnu) were exercising their right to freedom of speech and expression and to assemble peacefully," the court said. As per the prosecution case, ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh in 2019, Babu and his son along with others had held a rally along the Tirupati-Madanapalli road and raised slogans against the state government for not granting student fee reimbursements. They were booked on a complaint made by the person in charge of the Model Code of Conduct Team-IV, Chandragiri assembly constituency. In January this year, the Andhra Pradesh High Court refused to quash the proceedings in the case, forcing the father-son duo to knock the doors of the top court seeking relief in the case.

KRIDL scam: Ex-clerk with Rs 15,000 salary amassed assets worth Rs 30cr

1 2 Koppal: Kalakappa Nidagundi, a former outsourced clerk at the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) office in Koppal, is alleged to have amassed assets approximately worth Rs 30 crore over two decades — despite earning a modest monthly salary of Rs 15,000. The corruption came to light on Thursday when Lokayukta officials carried out a raid at Nidagundi's residence in Pragati Nagar. The raid, as part of the investigation into the misappropriation of Rs 72 crore in KRIDL, unearthed massive assets including 24 houses, six plots, over 40 acres of agricultural land, more than 1kg of gold jewellery, and multiple vehicles, with documents pointing to further illegal assets. Following instructions from KRIDL MD Basavaraju, executive engineers Anil Patil (from Koppal office) and Anand Karlakunti (from the Nelogipura subdivision) filed complaints against former executive engineer Zaranappa M Chincholikar and Nidagundi. In response to the complaint, Lokayukta officials commenced their raid at Nidagundi's residence at 6am. The investigations also uncovered properties registered under the names of his wife and brother. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Experience next-level CPAP comfort with Resmed AirSense 11 ResMed Enquire Now Undo The accused parties allegedly fabricated documents and invoices for 96 projects — including sewerage, road, and drinking water initiatives across several villages in the district — from 2019 to 2025.
