MSME parks set to industrialise Andhra Pradesh big time, says Minister Kondapalli Srinivas
Andhra Pradesh had lost the opportunity of entrepreneurship post bifurcation as most of the sector-specific Industrial Parks (IPs) built in the unified State were concentrated in and around Hyderabad, and a vast majority of the entrepreneurs, too, stayed back. Now, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is striving to attract those entrepreneurs to invest in the State by offering them tailor-made incentives and extending the required support. 'The efforts are paying off as quite a good number of companies, the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), are coming forward to set up their units in the State, for which the government is extending all assistance,' says Andhra Pradesh Minister for MSMEs Kondapalli Srinivas. In an exclusive interaction with The Hindu here on Thursday, Mr. Srinivas said the State was endowed with rich natural resources and human capital needed for industries to thrive, but right now there was not much motivation for various reasons, mainly due to the impact of bifurcation. The State had to restart everything because of bifurcation, and it obviously hit the MSME sector hard. 'Nevertheless, the government has set an ambitious target to develop an Industrial Park (IP) and a flatted factory in each one of the 175 Assembly constituencies in a phased manner, for which three models have been put forth,' he said. Under the first one, private lands would be developed by private parties, who would have the liberty to sell, or lease the plots. The government would incentivise the development cost. The government lands would be developed by private partners in the second model and the third one would have a mix of government and private lands for development by private partners. Already, 11 IPs were inaugurated, tenders were being called for 39 parks and 50 parks were in the planning stage. The target was to complete all the 175 IPs in two years, said Mr. Srinivas, while sounding confident that it would be achieved. Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs The Minister observed that the MSMEs were constrained by the lack of R&D facilities, and to solve this problem, the government was in the process of developing the Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs in a hub-and-spoke model. A support mechanism was being built for the MSMEs to enable them to overcome the challenges such as difficulties faced in raising working capital and accessing the national and global markets. The State government was helping them (MSMEs) to make the most of the funding provided by the Government of India's Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises, while doing what it could within its limitations to give them a fillip, he observed. Mr. Srinivas said there was a sizable number of individuals who went abroad as employees and settled there as entrepreneurs, and many entrepreneurs who had their roots in A.P. have thriving businesses in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha. The government was encouraging them to consider investing in their home State, Mr. Srinivas said, noting that the biggest leveraging factor was the brand image created by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his untiring efforts to take the State forward.

Kadapa: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, after getting elected as TDP national president on Wednesday thanking party men for their confidence on his leadership, said the six key resolutions and in-depth discussions during Mahanadu shaped a roadmap for the party for the next 40 years. He said only TDP has the strength to elevate Telugu people globally. Naidu said TDP is the party that eradicated Naxalism, factionalism, and rowdyism. 'In the past five years under the previous government, properties were unsafe, and drugs mafia Increased manifold and ganja cultivation became a village-level industry in agency areas and crime was institutionalised.' Stressing that the TDP government is committed for development of Rayalaseema, the CM said he will not spare any wrongdoer and act ruthlessly against them. It is the responsibility of the alliance government to protect peace and security in the State. He promised that he will never let Rayalaseema remain a drought-hit or barren region, adding that it is because of TDP that Anantapur emerged as a prosperous district through horticulture. This year, Rs 3,800 crore is being invested in Rayalaseema water projects. After Polavaram, Handri-Neeva is receiving the highest project funding. He said Veligonda project will also be completed on priority. 'We will complete Polavaram by December 2027 and dedicate it to the nation and connect Polavaram to Banakacharla via Krishna River and Bollapalli reservoir. Once Polavaram-Banakacharla is complete, the face of the state will change,' he stated. Chandrababu said his mission is to ensure irrigation for every acre and uplift every farmer. He said the TDP government transformed AP from a state with power shortages to a surplus power state. He said every constituency will get at least 10,000 rooftop solar connections and Under PM-KUSUM, farmers should install solar panels at pump sets as the Central government has earmarked ₹75,000 crore subsidies for this project. The TDP chief said the alliance government is committed to developing all regions and constituencies in the state and developing Uttarandhra as a financial hub. Stating that govt will set up industrial parks in all 175 constituencies, he said Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs will be established in Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, and Anantapur. Concluding his speech Chandrababu said with the blessings of people and party workers – we are achieving one milestone after another.

Chandrababu Naidu elected TDP national president unanimously
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) completed the formality of electing N. Chandrababu Naidu as the party's national president unanimously at the Mahanadu here on Wednesday. Party election committee chairman Varla Ramaiah announced Mr. Naidu's election to the top party post and administered the oath to him amid thunderous applause. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Naidu said he was thankful to everyone for giving him the responsibility yet again, and that collective efforts should be made to translate the six resolutions (that were passed earlier) into reality. The resolutions laid the roadmap for the next 40 years, he said, and pointed out that the TDP weathered many a storm in the last 43 years, and asserted that it had the capacity to be a vibrant entity for many more years to come. Some of the challenges successfully faced by the TDP were Naxalism and factionalism, and more recently, land scams, ganja and drugs and many other things during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) rule. He observed that law and order had gone for a toss in 2019-24 and the situation was getting to normal under the NDA regime. Mr. Naidu said he gave due priority to the development of Rayalaseema with focus on completing the long-pending irrigation projects, and that the interlinking of rivers would make the parched region fertile. The State was able to garner substantial funding from the Central government for the construction of Amaravati and several other projects with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said. Mr. Naidu stated that the Polavaram project would be completed and dedicated to the nation by the end of 2027. The TDP supremo said the government had drawn up plans to transform Visakhapatnam into a financial hub, and that he opposed the privatisation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and was in the process of getting ArcelorMittal-Nippon Steel to set up a huge plant in Anakapalli district. He announced that foundation would be laid for the Kadapa steel plant in 10 days and expressed confidence that he would be the one inaugurating it. The three-Million-tonne per annum steel plant was being established by the Jindal Group in two phases at a cost of ₹9,000 crore. The government was developing industrial parks in all the 175 constituencies, setting up Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs in Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, and Anantapur. Due focus had been laid on improving the lot of farmers, Mr. Naidu said, while affirming that the government was moving forward with a fine balance between development and welfare.

CM to meet 7 Union mins during Delhi visit
Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu left for a two-day visit to New Delhi on Thursday. During the visit, he is scheduled to meet seven Union ministers to discuss various concerns for the state. He will also participate in NITI Aayog 's governing council meeting and will present Andhra Pradesh 's policy roadmap. On Friday, Naidu will meet Union ministers for energy, defence, home, finance, Jal Shakti, electronics and information technology, and science and technology. He will discuss the green energy projects taken up by state govt with Prahlad Venkatesh Joshi, minister for new and renewable energy. Naidu is seeking collaboration with Union govt in the green energy sector and enhanced incentives for the state. The CM will discuss defence and aerospace initiatives, including a missile testing range to be set up in Krishna district, with Union defence minister Rajnath Singh. In the meeting with Union Jal Shakti minister C R Patil, Naidu will discuss pending irrigation projects and new proposals, including the Polavaram-Banakacherla project. Naidu will focus on research, innovation, and industrial science collaborations with the minister for science and technology, Jitendra Singh, including AP's Quantum Valley, Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs, and the Centre's support for the projects. He will meet finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and home minister Amit Shah to discuss AP's financial issues and the implementation of new criminal laws, respectively. The CM will discuss digital infrastructure in AP and the required support for improving it further with Union minister for electronics and information technology Ashwini Vaishnav. On Saturday, he will attend the 10th governing council meeting of NITI Aayog and will present the initiatives taken up by AP.

Andhra Pradesh Technology Services to establish offices in all 26 districts
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS) is set to establish district offices in all 26 district headquarters in the state. APTS Chairman Mannava Mohana Krishna announced this initiative, aimed at providing better technological services, strengthening the district-level IT ecosystem, enhancing IT infrastructure and procurements, encouraging local startups, and supporting local entrepreneurs. Each district-level APTS office will be headed by an IT manager and supported by three assistant managers. According to Mohana Krishna, the establishment of these offices will simplify the state government's e-governance programs and support initiatives such as the Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs, data centers, co-working space initiatives, and e-office systems. Addressing the media at his chamber in Vijayawada on Thursday, Mohana Krishna said that the APTS is undertaking multiple initiatives to promote digital governance, strengthen cyber security, and expand information technology in the state under the leadership of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IT minister Nara Lokesh. Mohana Krishna highlighted the organization's achievements, including transactions worth Rs 110 crore carried out through APTS Procurement Services between July 2024 and April 2025. The APTS Procurement Services has set a target of achieving Rs 600 crore worth of transactions for the current fiscal year, with more procurements of software, hardware, and IT consultancy services expected in the coming days. The organization is currently monitoring 30,000 events per second (EPS) through the AP Cyber Security Operational Centre (APCSOC). Furthermore, APTS has published 55,486 tenders worth Rs 41,000 crore through the e-procurement platform. With these initiatives, APTS is playing a key role in promoting digital governance and strengthening cyber security in Andhra Pradesh. The establishment of district offices is expected to further enhance the organization's efforts in supporting local entrepreneurs, startups, and the state's economy.
