The 21st Westbury National Tennis Championship witnessed exciting matches across various categories on the opening day. In the men's singles first round, Yasir Fazli triumphed over Faiz Ilyas with a score of 8-6.
Bilal Soomro showcased his dominance by defeating Farman Ali 8-0, while Ruhab Faisal overwhelmed Muhammad Umar Haider with the same scoreline of 8-0.
Raheem Waqar outplayed Danish Waheed 8-1, and Taimoor Ansari secured a solid win against Vinod Das, also with an 8-1 margin.
In the ladies' singles first round, Mehwish Faisal cruised past Ayesha Yousuf 8-0. Talat Idrees defeated Areeba with an identical 8-0 score, while Fiza M. Hasan bested Aimen 8-1 in a confident display of skill.
The under-14 singles category also saw intense competition. Yahya bin Zain defeated Muhammad Arabi in straight sets, 4-0, 4-0. Mir Abbas Bhagat overcame Qazi Ayyan Babar 4-0, 4-1.
In a thrilling three-setter, Umar Zaman edged past Hamdan Nauman 4-2, 0-4, 7-5. Aahil Imran beat Tariq Rafi 5-3, 4-1, while Imdad Imran won against Usama Ali 4-0, 4-1. Affan comfortably defeated M. Azhar 4-0, 4-0, and M. Usman Haider outperformed Maier Anas 5-3, 4-2.

Photo: STA Ahtesham Humiyoon SNGPL outplayed Kashan Tariq 8-2 to win the mens singles title at the 21st addition of KC Westbury National tennis championship which concluded at Karachi Club on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, Eschelle Asif becruised past Tahreem Yousuf 8-0 to win the Ladies Singles title. Ahtisham Humiyon of SNGPL was in great form and also proved too good for Hassan Usmani of SNGPL, beating him 6 -1, 3 -0 rtd to clinch the under-18 singles tennis title. Romaisa Malik beat Eschelle Asif 6-3,6-1 to win the under-18 girls title. Rasheed Jan Muhammad, CEO of Westbury Group was the Chief Guest who distributed tennis balls plus 150,000 cash prizes and trophies among winners and runners up of various events. In his speech he appreciated the efforts of Sindh Tennis Association and spoke about his company's relationship with STA since last 21 years. He also announced to continue sponsoring 22nd addition in 2026 as well. The Sports Conveener Karachi Club Raseed Jambo. Eschelle Asif outplayed Tahreem Yousuf to clinch the ladies singles title while Kashan Tariq defeated Ismail Aftab with a decisive 8-2 scoreline in the mens singles semifinal in the 21st Westbury National Tennis Championship. In the Boys U-14 Singles quarterfinal, Meer Bhagat beat Zaid Zaman 4-2, 4-0. The grand finals and closing ceremony will be held on Friday at 5:30pm, with Rasheed Jan Mohammad gracing the occasion as chief guest. Results: Semifinal (Mens): Junaid Khan (Peshawar) dominated Ansarullah 4-1, 4-0 Girls U-14 Singles Final: Rumaisa Malik (Pano Aqil) beat Shahnoor Umar (Lahore) 4-0, 4-1. Boys U-12 Doubles Semifinal: Arsh Imran and Azaan Imran beat Tariq Rafi and Umar Zaman 4-2, 4-2. U-10 Singles Semifinal: Ashtar Alam Khan breezed past CM Ayaan Isa Ji 4-0, 4-0. Girls U-18 Doubles Semifinal: Rumaisa Malik / Aishel Asif won 8-0 against Tahreem Yousuf / Sakina U-14 Doubles Semifinals: Rashid Bachani / Ibrahim defeated Meer / Zaid 4-1, 4-1.
