BBC PRESENTER Barry Fantoni has died at home, as Ian Hislop pays tribute to the "brilliant writer, artist and musician".
Barry, who was also a revered cartoonist and script writer, died aged 85 on May 20 at his home in Turin, Italy, it has been confirmed.
In an emotional tribute, Private Eye editor Ian Hislop said: 'Barry was a brilliant multi-talented writer, artist and musician.
"He was an integral part of Private Eye's comic writing team from the early days in the sixties and I hugely enjoyed collaborating with him when I joined the magazine later on.
"He created formats and characters and jokes that are still running and he was for a long time the voice of the great poet and obituarist E J Thribb. So farewell then Barry.'

The contestants were then given 30 seconds to attempt to correctly identify the answer but for 32 - it was clearly a struggle. Reacting in shock as time was up, Lee remarked: "Wow! That is massive! "32 people went out on that one. Let's have a look at the answer." Amid gasps from the crowd, Lee told them that the right answer was - "marry your widow's sister". Tricky 1% Club question forces 13 contestants to use their pass to stay in the game - but would you have got it right? This was the correct answer as it would be impossible to marry your own widow's sister as you would already be dead. Cracking out another joke, Lee said: "And before we get any complaints, yes, I accept that is a bit Zombie-ist!" It increased the prize fund up to a huge £90,000 as the quiz entered into the 35% question. The multiple choice answers were between G, K, M and W. In the end, and with the £32,000 safe, player Glen had to make a guess and went for G. The 1% Club - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. The query went as follows: "Edna's birthday is on the 6th of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the 'X' of January." It turns out the conundrum links the numbers with its position in the sentence, so 6th is the sixth word and 15th is the fifteenth word. Therefore, Amir's birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence. The Chase - The ITV daytime favourite left fans scratching their heads when it threw up one of the most bizarre questions to ever grace the programme. One of the questions asked the player: "Someone with a nightshade intolerance should avoid eating what?" The options were - sweetcorn, potatoes, carrots - with Steve selecting sweetcorn but the correct answer was potatoes. 4 4

She replaced it with another snap of Princess and wrote: '2 days until Princess turns 18 can't believe it xx.' It wasn't the first time that Katie forgot her childrens' birthdays.
