It's been a bit of a roller coaster for the New Orleans Saints uniforms beat this offseason. It was previously reported that the Saints would be introducing alternate uniforms and matching new helmets on July 22 -- only for that date to be moved up to July 9 with the reveal of white-and-gold lids to go with the team's popular "Color Rush" jerseys. For a time, it looked like the Saints wouldn't be getting new uniforms after all.
But that might not be the case. On Tuesday, July 15, the Saints shared a promo video teasing something else. Cameron Jordan, who has long lobbied for the team to bring back the gold jerseys they last wore in 2002, is seen strutting into the locker room carrying a Saints-branded gold duffel bag, lit from the inside with a flashing amber light. A strobing effect obscures a shadowy figure wearing a helmet and uniform. Take these hints together and it sure looks like the team is rolling out new jerseys (and maybe another helmet) on July 22. See for yourself:
A soft rebrand with fresh white helmets to go with the "Color Rush" uniforms and an all-new gold set would be a welcome change. The Saints are going in a new direction without any of Sean Payton's influence on the team; it's taken some time but they're finally getting out from under his shadow. Ushering in a new era with new jerseys isn't a bad idea. And it's not like the team is getting rid of their usual home and away uniforms. This just helps distance themselves from the last four years of futile football.
And bringing back the gold uniforms Jordan has always wanted could signal the end of the line for him, too. This is his last year under contract with the team and he figures to play more of a pass-rush specialist role with young guys like Chase Young and Carl Granderson taking over as starters, giving Jordan opportunities to sack a couple of quarterbacks and help his Hall of Fame resume. He leads all active players with 121.5 sacks (Von Miller is technically ahead of him with 129.5, but has not signed with a team for 2025) and ranks 22nd all-time. Giving Jordan what he's asked for could be a nice sendoff. We'll find out what the Saints have been cooking up on July 22.

2025 Baseball Hall of Fame induction: Live updates as C.C. Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki, Billy Wagner take place in Hall of Fame

The 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony will gather some of the game's most esteemed figures at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, New York, on Sunday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m. ET. America's favorite pastime will honor another class of its greats in the 53rd Baseball Hall of Fame induction. This year's batch features Dick Allen, Dave Parker, C.C. Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki and Billy Wagner. The late Allen and Parker were the first two to be voted into the Class of 2025 as the Classic Baseball Era selectees. Players are eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame five years after they retire from playing at least ten years in the Majors. Once they meet the criteria, players can be voted in by the Baseball Writers Association of America. Players who are not considered eligible by the BWAA can still be nominated for induction through the Era committee, which also oversees the induction of managers, umpires and executives. The BWAA votes on the ballots with players receiving at least 75% of votes getting inducted. Suzuki is getting inducted as a first-ballot Hall of Famer, receiving 99.7% of the vote and one shy of a unanimous election. Sabathia and Wagner tallied 86.6 and 82.5% of the votes, respectively. Allen and Parker were voted in by the Classic Baseball Era Committee. A ten-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove winner and two-time AL batting champion, Suzuki will be the first Japanese-born player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He recorded 3,089 hits in his legendary career. C.C. Sabathia is a member of the 3,000-strikeout club who played for the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees during his MLB career. He memorably won the World Series with the Bronx Bombers when he joined the team in 2009. Wagner earned seven All-Star nods in his 16-year MLB career. He had stints with the Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves before retiring in 2010. He left the game after recording 422 saves. 42 days till the Arizona Cardinals' 2025 season opener: Who has worn No. 42?

With 42 days till the Cardinals open the season against the Saints, we look at the players who have worn No. 42. We are counting down to the start of the 2025 regular season for the Arizona Cardinals, and we are exactly six weeks away. They will open the season on the road against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 7. That is 42 days away. As we count down the remaining days of the offseason, let's look at who has worn that number uniform over the years for the Cardinals. Who has worn No. 42? Cardinals players to wear No. 42 Second-year safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson has No. 42 for the second straight year. Lassiter was the best the Cardinals every had to wear No. 42. He was great. Goldberg would later wear No. 99 and that is retired for him. Woodson was the most accomplished player of the group, but he didn't have them with the Cardinals. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro for the San Francisco 49ers before he came to the Cardinals. WATCH: Rookie linebacker Danny Stutsman picks off Saints QB Spencer Rattler

Stutsman picks off Rattler Here's another throw at New Orleans Saints training camp that Spencer Rattler would like back. Both of the Saints' rookie fourth-round draft picks have now intercepted him in practice, with linebacker Danny Stutsman picking off Rattler in the end zone just days after cornerback Quincy Riley snatched an errant pass away in a similar situation. Stutsman and Rattler were college teammates at Oklahoma back in 2021. Now, we shouldn't blow this out of proportion. Training camp is when you want guys taking risks and testing the limits of what they can get away with against NFL defenders. But this was a poor decision no matter what time of year it is. See it for yourself right here. Rattler was leading the first-string offense in 7-on-9 drills against the first-team defense; Stutsman was bumped up the depth chart with Demario Davis absent from practice. The second-year QB tried a throw to wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. running a crossing route through the middle of the end zone, but he was covered. Stutsman read the play as it developed and dropped back to leap the route. Even if the rookie hadn't been there, free safety Justin Reid was closing on Wilson fast, and it would've been a contested-catch situation at best. Again, this was one play. Jake Haener was intercepted at this same practice session, too, when he gambled on a deep shot to wide receiver Chris Tyree (this time, safety Julian Blackmon picked him off). But one of the big concerns with Rattler's rookie-year game tape was his decision making. He threw five interceptions and, according to Pro Football Focus charting, had 14 turnover-worthy plays on his grading sheet. He needs to show better judgment if he's going to fend off Haener and Tyler Shough in this summer's training camp competition. Hopefully this ends up being a learning moment for him.
