The Guardian29-05-2025
This quick and easy roasted tomato and burrata tart from Irish chef, columnist and TV presenter Clodagh McKenna is elevated by ingredients of real quality from the Tesco Finest range, including a Sicilian extra virgin olive oil, beautifully intense balsamic vinegar and golden forest honey. Aromatic in-season Tesco Finest tomatoes and a luxurious, creamy Tesco Finest burrata cheese from Italy take the dish to another level. So simple. So delicious.
Prep and cook 1 hrServes 6
2 sheets Tesco Finest ready rolled all-butter puff pastry
1 tbsp Tesco Finest balsamic vinegar of Modena
1 tbsp Tesco Finest Spanish forest honey 1 tbsp Tesco Finest Sicilian extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves 500g Tesco Finest tomatoes on the vine, sliced1 x 250g Tesco Finest Italian burrata, torn 8 fresh basil leaves, torn
For glazing1 egg, beaten
Heat the oven to 200C (180C fan)/390F/gas 6 and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Place the two sheets of puff pastry on top of each other on a lightly floured work surface. Roll into a 28cm round, and then transfer to the prepared baking tray. Fold in 2cm of the pastry edges to create a border, overlapping so it's slightly wavy. Pop into the fridge while you get everything else ready.
In a bowl mix together the balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil and fresh thyme, and toss with the sliced tomatoes, until they are completely coated.
Remove the pastry from the fridge. Overlap the tomato slices in circles in the centre of the pasty until it is covered.
Brush the border with the egg wash and bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes and then top with the torn burrata and the basil leaves. Season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, and serve.

Cadbury brings back iconic chocolate bar at UK supermarket despite being ‘5 months too early'

CADBURY has brought back one of its most popular bars but some fans have said that it is '5 months too early'. The delicious bar is a festive treat which normally is released at the end of the year. 3 3 Cadbury's Mini Snow Balls are one of the best selling chocolate treats in the UK, at Christmas time. The tasty bar is made from a smooth dairy milk chocolate and is covered in a crispy icing sugar shell. Normally only available in December, the balls are now on sale at Asda. The delicious bars were spotted in stores by an eagle-eyed shopper who took to Facebook to announce their find. The shopper wrote: 'Giant Cadbury Snowball Bars spotted today at Asda. 'Happy Christmas!' However, not every shopper was as excited to see the bars in stores. Some Facebook users felt it was '5 months too early' to sell Christmas themed products. One social media user said: 'Oh wow, I'm still trying to finish this years Easter eggs, better hurry so I can start on the Xmas chocs.' Other chocolate lovers thought that their fellow shoppers needed to see the fun in the bar landing on our shelves in July. 'Love this' cry chocolate fans as Cadbury Ireland teases new limited edition bars One fan said: 'Why are people mad it's chocolate, gonna get eaten within the week.' Another joked: 'Im just here for the moaners about them selling Christmas stuff already.' The news comes after shoppers noticed another popular Cadbury bar on a major supermarket's shelves. The limited edition snack costs just £2.99 and is one of the brand's most popular flavours. B&M are selling the iconic Cadbury Mudcake, which is inspired by the classic Australian caramel mudcake. The dairy milk chocolate bar is covered with a layer of caramelised white chocolate, a gooey caramel-flavoured crème centre and crunchy chocolate biscuit bits. It is part of B&M's huge range of Aussie snacks and fans are going wild for the tasty treat. One commented: 'I bought two of them for £7 from an online store!' Another said: 'These are so nice.' However, the treats are in limited supply so, once they sell out, B&M won't be restocking them. 3

The Viral Shorts Trend Taking Over Instagram And IRL

On the cusp of jorts, bermudas, and every tailored short in between, a quieter trend is rising: the return of the white culotte short. Breezy, wide-legged, and cut just below the knee, they're giving refined throwback energy and fashion people are taking note. Gwyneth Paltrow wore a crisp pair on holiday recently, styling them exactly how they're meant to be worn: like you're on the Italian riviera, Pinot Grigio in hand. It makes sense. Fashion is deep in its recycle era. Think: T-bar sandals, printed trousers, even pedal pushers (yes, really). Culottes sit perfectly in that wave of comebacks, offering the nostalgia we love with a 2025 refresh. The new wave is sleeker and more structured - fitted linen, crisp cotton, and even denim versions that feel less 'school uniform,' more 'quiet luxury'. There's something satisfyingly grown-up about them. They float in that space between shorts and a skirt, making them an easy go-to when it's too hot for trousers but you want something a little more elevated than cut-offs. And they're flattering too. Styling is simple: keep it clean and cool. Try a pair with ballet pumps and a white tee or lean into Euro summer energy with leather slides and a ribbed tank. Add a basket bag, and you're practically on holiday, even if you're just heading to brunch or the office. You'll spot them at garden parties, city lunches, and airport lounges alike. And if you're not wearing them already, you soon will be. Scroll down to shop the best white culottes of the season. 1. H&M, Tailored Bermuda Shorts 2.
