Multi-millionaire CEO, 39, trampled to death by elephant at luxury safari in South Africa
The 39-year-old conservationist was attempting to guide a group of elephants away from the tourist lodges when a massive bull turned on him, leading to a fatal mauling, Daily Mail reported.
The deadly encounter occurred as Conradie, a well-known figure in South African eco-tourism, tried to move the elephants out of a populated area. The six-ton bull reportedly gored him with its tusks and trampled him multiple times. Despite the efforts of nearby rangers, nothing could be done to save him.

Gondwana Private Game Reserve, a five-star safari destination near Mossel Bay on the famed Garden Route, is known for hosting celebrities and tourists seeking Big Five encounters. The lodge, which charges nearly £900 per couple per night, was reportedly full at the time of the incident. It remains unclear whether any guests witnessed the violent attack, the report further added.
This marks the second fatal elephant encounter at the 27,000-acre reserve in just over a year. In March 2023, 36-year-old David Kandela, a married father of one and staff member, was fatally attacked while guiding a herd through the Eco Tent Lodge area. Kandela was gored, dragged into the bush, and dismembered by elephants, including a former circus elephant named Bonnie.

FC Conradie was also the head of the Caylix Group sports management company. Described by staff as deeply passionate about wildlife, particularly elephants, he was often seen photographing the animals he loved most, Daily Mail reported.
His wife of 10 years, 33-year-old La-ida, and their three sons, aged 6, 11, and 12, were left devastated by the news. The family lives in Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, where La-ida works at global financial firm Moore Stephens.

Opening of Heerapura bus terminal may be delayed by a month
1 2 Jaipur: Although the state govt plans to start operations from the Heerapura bus terminal in Aug, it seems it will take at least another month to make this terminal operational. On Tuesday, when Team TOI visited the bus terminal, it was found that the Rajasthan State Bus Terminal Development Authority (RSBTDA) is yet to construct roads inside the terminal leading to the bus bays and parking bays from the exit and entry gates. However, work on the bus shed inside the terminal is almost complete, as workers were constructing the last few of the 16-odd bus bays and were erecting the benches and the ticket counters. RSBTDA officials said there were several decisions by the state govt centring on this bus terminal in the last year. Finally, the govt asked the authority to complete the remaining jobs in early April. "The JDA is doing the construction work. We are sorting a few issues with the National Highways Development Authroity of India (NHAI), while the RTO is in talks with the operators. The works are going on at full pace. We are trying to make this terminal ready for operations as soon as possible," stated Shubhra Singh, the chairperson of RSBTDC. Although there is sufficient space for the long-distance buses to take a U-turn from the underpass of the Kamla Nehru Nagar flyover and reach this bus terminal, locals are apprehensive about a bottleneck on the service lane. The vehicles for last-mile connectivity, including JCTSL and minibuses, will have to travel at least five to six kilometre through these lanes to reach the underpass of the Bhankrota flyover. "There is a cut right within 100 metres from the exit gate of the bus terminal for buses to climb the Ajmer-bound flank of the Ajmer Expressway But vehicles travelling towards Jaipur from this terminal must take a U-turn from the underpass of the next Bhankrota flyover. There's no cut on the highway before the Bhankrota flyover. It means these vehicles would travel to the underpass of the Bhankrota flyover through the already congested side lane," said Amit Mishra, a local resident. NHAI said, the state govt would decide on how the traffic would flow in and out of this terminal. "There are three different bays, each of four lanes, to allow traffic movement in these three directions through the underpass of the newly constructed Bhankrota flyover. The rest remains on the traffic and transport department, whether they want to allow Jaipur-bound traffic through the service lanes or through the main flank (Ajmer-bound) of the Expressway," a NHAI official added.

Six-hour delay of SpiceJet's Pune-Jaipur flight frustrates passengers

The flight (SG-1080) was scheduled to take off from Pune at 7.30pm and land in Jaipur at 9.50pm. It finally departed at 1.40am on Friday. A video surfaced in which passengers accused the ground staff of spreading misinformation. There was haze on the status of the inbound plane from Goa, too. Air India Jaipur-Mumbai flight makes U-turn 18 mins after take-off: What went wrong
An Air India flight from Jaipur to Mumbai made an emergency return shortly after takeoff on Friday. Flight AI612 returned to Jaipur International Airport due to a 'suspected technical issue', officials confirmed. The aircraft was airborne for about 18 minutes before returning to Jaipur. "Flight AI612 operating from Jaipur to Mumbai returned to Jaipur shortly after take-off due to a suspected technical issue,' Air India said in a statement. Airline officials confirmed that the decision to return was made as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety. Air India further emphasised that passenger safety is the airline's top priority. This swift action aligns with standard aviation safety protocols when potential issues are detected, PTI reported. Upon landing, the aircraft was thoroughly checked for any potential issues. Air India further revealed that 'troubleshooting checks were carried out, and it was determined to be a false indication'. Following the thorough inspection, the aircraft was cleared for operations. Once the protocols were fulfilled, the flight departed from Jaipur and continued its journey to Mumbai, the news agency reported. This comes just two days after a Doha-bound Air India Express flight was forced to return to Calicut International Airport on Wednesday morning, approximately two hours after its departure, owing to a technical fault in the aircraft's cabin AC. According to official data, a total of five Indian airlines reported 183 technical defects in their aircraft to the aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) this year until July 21. Air India and Air India Express together have reported 85 technical defects, respectively, the data shows.
